Avenger's pov:

"There's a hostage situation at a Hydra base right now," Tony said hurriedly as the team jogged toward the quinjet. The Avengers had been called for an emergency mission when HYDRA had taken some SHIELD agents hostage. The quinjet left the ground and the Avengers started getting suited up in the jet.

When the quinjet finally landed outside the Hydra base, the team exited the jet only to be met with the Hydra agents already waiting for them. The Avengers immediately began fighting off the agents, trying to get inside the building to save the hostages.

"Anyone get the feeling they were waiting for us?" Asked Nat as she fought her way through a crowd of Hydra agents.

"They did take hostages, they were definitely expecting somebody to come and save them," said Steve as he threw his shield which had hit an agent right in the head.

"Umm... Mr. Stark, why does it look like they're leaving?" Asked Peter. The whole team looked up and saw that half the agents that had been attacking them were now retreating back into the building.

"Do you think they gave up?" Asked Sam hopefully

"I doubt it," responded Bucky "it's not their style".

"Let's just focus on getting the hostages, then we can worry about their commitment issues," Said Tony, and Clint chuckled. As the team was slowly making their way through the Hydra agents, they started to notice more and more of them retreating back into the base. They thought nothing of it however and continued doing what they do best. Peter, Nat, and Bucky had managed to make their way inside the building. The others stayed outside to continue fighting the agents.

"You two check upstairs, I'll check down here" suggested Bucky and the other two nodded. Nat and Peter made their way down different hallways, fighting different agents that came at them and looking through different rooms. When they had looked around every room on the bottom floor Nat sighed.

"We didn't find them, they are probably somewhere up there Bucky," Nat said into the comm.

"Roger that," Bucky responded.

Bucky's pov:

As Bucky made his way down different hallways, he was met with many agents that tried to stop him but they were no match for the Winter Soldier. Bucky was slightly bothered by the many dead bodies that already littered the hallways of the Hydra base. As Bucky checked different rooms in the base he became more and more discomforted by the number of dead agents that he found. Bucky kept walking down hallways and finally found himself in the last unchecked hallway on the floor. He walked through the first door and was surprised by the scene that he found before him.

There were dead guards everywhere that had been shot directly in the head along with a man in a black tuxedo that by the looks of it, had his neck snapped. Bucky pulled himself together and walked out of the room, his main priority right now was getting those hostages. Bucky made his way into another room and found the hostages surrounded by guards. He quickly knocked out the guards and released the hostages from the ropes that bound them.

"I've got the hostages," He said into the comms.

"Good, now come back to the jet and let's get out of here" He heard Steve's voice call back to him. Bucky led the group back through the hallways. He finally exited the building, killing a few guards that tried to stop them along the way.

"Alright let's do a headcount and make sure we have everyone" Said Sam as he started counting the heads of all the hostages. "We only have twelve, there's supposed to be thirteen of them," He said worriedly. Bucky quickly counted the heads as well and mentally slapped himself in the face. Sam was right, there were only twelve out of the thirteen hostages with them.

"I can go back," said Peter as he put his mask back on.

"No kid, Tony would kill us!" Said Bucky as he led the hostages into the quinjet.

"I'll be back before he even notices I'm gone!" Called Peter as he ran back toward the building.

Peter's pov:

Peter ran back through the doors and webbed up some agents that started running toward him. He ran through the hallways and up the stairs. Peter looked through each room he found but everyone was either unconscious or dead. As Peter was checking another room, there was suddenly a very loud exploding sound and Peter got thrown back toward the wall where he hit his head. Peter put a hand over his now bleeding head and looked around. The ceiling was crashing down and furniture was getting thrown everywhere. Peter could also smell smoke from somewhere in the distance.

"Oh great," Peter muttered. Peter jumped out of the way and hit his head again against the wall as a big chunk of concrete came falling in his direction. Peter looked up again however his vision was now blurry. Peter could see the outline of a person walking toward him but he wasn't sure if he was imagining it or not. As the figure walked closer, Peter's consciousness began to fade and the last thing he saw was the figure crouching down next to him.

Ashlyn's pov:

Ashlyn hopped off the jet as her team (minus Ryder) landed a little away from the Hydra base.

"Let's get this over with and then We can all go get ice cream or something" She sighed out and Jackson chuckled. As Jackson and Lucas followed her toward the base, they noticed a very big lack of guards.

"Doesn't this seem oddly suspicious to you?" Asked Lucas and Ash nodded.

"Might be a trap?" suggested Jackson and Ash sighed. She was getting annoyed with people trying to trap her. First the Avengers, then Hydra, who's next? The orphanage? Ash shuddered at the thought and pushed it out of her mind, she had a mission to focus on. The team walked into the base through the backdoor since there was nobody blocking it. Lucas and Jackson separated from Ash to go and cause a distraction while Ash went to go look for Carlos. Henry guided Ash through the building and up the stairs through the comms. Ash killed the many agents that came running at her. It was as if the whole base suddenly became aware of her presence because more and more Hydra agents kept showing up trying to stop her. Ash looked through the many rooms on the floor but didn't find Carlos anywhere. As Ash was walking into another room she suddenly found herself surrounded by Hydra agents and she sighed.

"We gonna do this the easy way or the hard way?" She asked them but they all stayed silent, pointing their guns at her.

"Hard way it is I guess." She sighed and jumped forward to begin her attack. As Ash was about to snap the neck of the last agent that had surrounded her, something caught her eye from the window. Ash snapped the agent's neck and looked out the window. Ash almost groaned as she saw the sight in front of her. The freaking Avengers were down there fighting off Hydra agents. Ash watched as Bucky, Natasha, and Spider-man entered the base. Ash soon realized that they would be coming up here and hurriedly jogged down the hall. She entered the last room and found Carlos, about to escape out a window

"I found him," She told the comms. Ash took out her gun and shot each guard right in the head. Carlos was about to jump out the window but Ash grabbed him by the neck and pushed him up against a wall.

"And where do you think you're going?" she asked and he trembled slightly. Ash scoffed and flicked her wrist. There was a loud snap and Carlos fell motionless to the floor. Ash brushed herself off but spun around when her enhanced hearing picked up on footsteps coming in her direction. Usually, Ash would get ready for another fight, but the heartbeat of the incoming person was a dead giveaway, Bucky. Ash groaned to herself and climbed up and out of the window. She climbed on top of the window and made her way to the roof of the building.

"Should I blow the place to pieces?" She heard Jackson ask from the comm.

"Not yet, I'll let you know when" Ash wasn't sure why exactly the Avengers were here, and she didn't really care. However, she wasn't willing to let Jackson blow up the world's mightiest heroes, even though it would solve many of her problems. Ash watched as Natasha and Spider-man left the building and helped the Avengers that were outside the building finish off the rest of the guards. Bucky came out soon after with people Ash recognized as SHIELD agents following him. So that's why the Avengers were here, to get some hostages. Ash turned and climbed back inside through the window.

"Blow it up," she said to the comms. Ash ran down the hallways of the buildings and headed toward the staircase. However, she stopped when she heard another set of footsteps running in her direction. Ash hid behind a door and peeked through the cracks. None other than Spider-man was running up the stairs. Ash whined to herself, why did the Avengers have to be so stupid, the whole building was about to explode. Ash made up her mind and followed Spider-man. He didn't seem to notice her as he checked through different rooms. Ash suddenly felt the ceiling begin to shake and fall. She ran into the room only to see Spider-man hitting his head against the wall. Ash could see blood appearing on the side of his face. Ash walked toward him and she saw him notice her. He suddenly fell unconscious.

Ash pulled his limp body over her shoulder and ran toward a window. She jumped out and pressed a button on her belt. She was now wearing a parachute. She landed softly on the ground and unhooked her parachute. She walked a little away from the building and set Spider-man down on the ground. She was very tempted to look under the mask to see who the Spider-man really was. Ash knew that she probably shouldn't but, whatever. She had just saved his ass anyways so she figured she deserved to know who she had saved. Ash slid the mask off the boy's face and almost gasped. It was Peter! The same Peter from the sandwich store that had roasted Mr. Delmar. Ash slid his mask back over his face and pulled out a piece of paper. She quickly wrote a little note and placed it in Peter's hand. She then stood up and brushed herself off. Ash ran back toward her jet and smiled to herself.

What would Maya think if she knew that Ash had just saved Spider-man?
