Avenger's pov:

"One of the main Hydra bases was just cleared out, almost every guard was dead, and the ones that survived ran away. One of the Hydra leaders, Tristan was also found dead." The Avengers were sitting in the conference room while Fury was telling them about a Hydra base in Canada.

"Do we know who did it?" asked Steve

"I wish I knew, but I'm going to leave that part up to you guys to figure out. We took some pictures of what the base looked like when we got there." With that Fury left. Tony opened the files with the pictures on them and the team looked through them. "Wait...these bullet holes look oddly familiar"

"Like the guards at the last Hydra base," Bucky added to her thinking.

"What? Do you think Ashlyn did this?" Asked Clint

"Maybe it was another mission?" suggested Sam.

"She couldn't have taken on a whole Hydra base by herself," Said Steve.

"But that doesn't explain the other pictures," Said Nat as she pointed to one of the pictures. In the picture, there were dead Hydra agents everywhere but in the center is what looked to be an explosion.

"Bombs," said Tony.

"Maybe she had help?" asked Wanda

"Or maybe she wasn't even there, she's not the only one in the world with perfect aim," Nat told them.

"She's definitely a good suspect though," said Bucky

"Why would she have been there anyway? What could the client have wanted?" Asked Tony

"Fury did say that the leader, Tristan, was dead. Could he have been the main target?" Asked Steve

"It's possible," said Bucky.

"So what's our plan of action?" Asked Tony

"I guess the only thing we can do is wait for the mystery person or Ashlyn to show themselves," Said Steve.

Ashlyn's pov:

"So you brought the child home?!" Ash had put Pierre to bed in the guest room and was now explaining what had happened to a very confused Maya.

"I was the only one who understands French" Ash explained "it's only for a few days, and then Ryder can take him to France back to his family" Added Ash and Maya sighed.

"How are we going to take care of him?" asked Maya

"I'll take him to the park in the morning, the poor kid probably hasn't seen the sun in a while," said Ash.

"Just be careful, you're still one of the Avenger's top priorities." Reminded Maya and Ash rolled her eyes.

"Can't they just drop it already?" Ash asked exasperatedly "Like seriously, learn to take a hint" Maya chuckled and walked into the kitchen. Ash stayed on the couch and closed her eyes. After a moment, Ash took out her phone and dialed a certain number. She was supposed to report to Oliver about how each mission went and Ash decided to tell him about Tristen. It took only a few rings before she heard his voice on the other end of the line.

"Miss. Emerald, I assume this means Tristen is dead"

"Dead as can be."

"Were there any casualties?"

"Too many to count" Ash heard Oliver chuckle on the other end of the phone.

"Who's your next target?"

"Carlos Angelo, he's the one that works with the tanks and big guns."

"Let me know when the job is complete" Oliver hung up the phone and Ash scoffed. She did not like being ordered around. Ash dropped it however and walked upstairs in the hope of getting a few hours of sleep at least.

----(time skip - next morning)-----

Ash woke up to the sound of laughter coming from the living room. Ash pulled her pillow over her head to try and cancel out the noise but it just seemed to be getting louder. Ash groaned and pulled the blanket off of her. She shivered as the cold air hit her arms but in the blink of an eye she was wearing a hoodie and sweatpants. When Ash walked into the living room she found the noisemakers which ended up being Liam and Pierre. Apparently, Liam was showing Pierre how to make a glitter bomb and Pierre had thrown it at Liam when it exploded because Liam was now covered head to toe in glitter. Ash burst out laughing when she saw him.

"It's not funny" Liam muttered as he made his way upstairs. Ash continued laughing as she led Pierre to the kitchen.

"What's so funny?" Asked Maya who was cooking eggs.

"Liam's covered in glitter" Maya sighed. "Yeah, that's not coming out for a while is it?" Sighed out Maya which just made Ash laugh again.

After Liam had come downstairs after showering but still slightly covered in glitter the four of them ate breakfast together before Ash gave Pierre some of Liam's small clothes to change into. "Enfilez ces vêtements, et ensuite nous pourrons aller au parc (change into these clothes, and then we can go to the park)." Pierre changed into the clothes and then he and Ash made their way outside and walked to the park. Ash had decided to walk so that Pierre could get some exercise. On the way to the park, Ash's appearance changed slightly, her eyes remained green but her hair became black and curly. 

Pierre didn't seem to notice her change in appearance. When the two reached the park, Pierre immediately ran towards the swings and Ash giggled. She pushed him on the swings for a few minutes before he decided to run to the slides. Ash sat down at a nearby bench and relaxed. Ash heard a school bell ring from across the street where there was a high school called Midtown. Maya had been thinking of attending the school but decided against it since it would put her in more danger. Ash didn't like the idea of being in a room for half the day while teachers tell you what to do and when to speak. 

Ash had attended school for a period of time when she was younger for one of her missions and she had hated it. Ash knew important things such as how long it takes for somebody to bleed out if they get gutted, not stupid things like algebra or geometry. Ash sighed, if she could go back in time, she'd kill whoever invented math. She watched as Pierre entertained himself by climbing up and down the playground.

"Pierre avez-vous faim? (Pierre, you hungry?)" Ash called out and the boy came running back to her. Ash and Pierre walked down different streets until they stopped in front of a sandwich shop called Delmar's. Ash had been there before with different appearances and she had to admit their sandwiches were very good. Ash pushed open the doors and walked in. It was a small shop with tables and chairs that lined the walls. The shop was about half full so Ash set Pierre down at a small table in the back. Ash walked toward the counter and ordered two sandwiches. As Ash was waiting for the sandwiches to be made she took in her surroundings. There were no security cameras that she could see and everyone seemed to be doing their own thing. 

There was a small ding at the door and Ash turned to see a boy, about her age walking in with his school backpack on. He had brown slightly curly hair and brown eyes. Ash was reminded of a small puppy for some reason. The boy walked up to the counter and started talking to who Ash assumed was the owner of the shop.

"Morning Peter, aren't you supposed to be in school?" Delmar asked the boy

"I'm on lunch break," said Peter. "Can I have a number five with pickles and can you smush it down real flat? Thanks" He said to the worker behind Mr. Delmar.

"How's your aunt?" Delmar asked him.

"She's good" Peter responded before Delmar turned to the worker behind him

"Mujeres italianas muy Calientes (very hot, Italian women)" Delmar said to the worker and Ash watched as Peter smirked.

"¿Cómo está tu hija? (how's your daughter)" Ash almost laughed at Peter's retort but held it in. She didn't hear the rest of their conversation because at that moment the worker handed her the two sandwiches and she walked back to the table where Pierre was sitting.

---(time skip - two days later)----

Ash was currently sitting in the warehouse with Pierre. When Ryder finally arrived Ash said bye to Pierre and watched as Ryder walked with him out of the building. Ash sighed, now that Pierre was gone she had other things to worry about. Such as the other Hydra leaders that she was supposed to track down and kill. Ash hopped on her motorcycle and sped home. When she arrived back home and laid down on her bed, she felt a buzz next to her and pulled out her phone. She had gotten a text from Henry with the information of where the next Hydra leader was. Ash sighed, she was getting pretty bored of this mission of theirs but she knew she had to finish it. Standing up, Ash was suddenly wearing her black suit and blonde hair again. Ash grabbed her guns and left the house.
