Ashlyn's pov:

Ash had spent the next two hours getting to know her new team. Oliver had appointed her team leader and she had put the four men through various exercises to test what they could do. She was impressed at how good they were with their separate skills. She had Ryder throwing knives at a point on the wall and he didn't miss once. Lucas was showing her his skills with different kinds of guns, and Ash thought he was very good. Henry had hacked into the Avengers tower, and although it took him twenty more minutes than it would have taken Maya, he was better than most people would have been and she was still impressed. Jackson was building and disarming different bombs and had shown Ash how to defuse a grenade. 

The team was now sitting in the various seats of the warehouse discussing tactics and plans. Ash had gotten to know the different members of the team individually now and she told them only a little bit about herself, she told them that she didn't care about making Hydra better or anything. Her only mission was to take Hydra down and that was why she was here.

"We should start with the harder ones first to make it easier" Suggested Henry.

"And who would that be?" asked Ryder who was twiddling a knife between his fingers.

"Carlos Angelo, He's in charge of sending different military units" Answered Jackson

"There's also Tristen Langeto, He's in charge of the different experimentations that Hydra performs" Added Lucas

"I think we can start there and work our way down," Said Ash as she stood up."Where are you going?" asked Lucas.

"Well, unlike you losers, I actually have other things to do" Ash smirked as they all looked taken aback. Ash was about to leave when she suddenly had an idea. "Actually Jackson, can I talk to you for a minute?" Jackson gave her a confused look but stood up and walked her toward the staircase. Jackson was about to speak but Ash grabbed his arm and looked down at the boomerang tattoo.

"Where did you get this?" She asked. Jackson followed her gaze and gulped.

"Just something that was given to me growing up" He answered and her suspicions were confirmed.

"The orphanage?" She watched as he visibly gulped at the mention of that place. Ash didn't blame him, the memories she had of that place weren't good either.

"How did you kn-" Jackson stopped mid-sentence when Ash pulled down one of her sleeves revealing the boomerang-shaped tattoo that she had.

"You were one of them?" He questioned

"So were you," She told him and he nodded.

"How did you get out?" he asked.

"I killed whoever tried to stop me, ran away, and never looked back." Ash answered, "What about you?"

"I didn't get out, they sold me to Hydra and I've been working there ever since" Ash felt bad for him.

"Well once we finish with them, you'll never have to work there again" she reminded him and he smiled.

"That would be nice," he said. The two were now at the front doors of the warehouse.

"I'll be in touch, don't die," said Ash and she left the building.

---(time skip - two days later)---

It had taken the team two days to find Tristen Langeto. He was at a major hydra base located in Canada. The team was now on a private jet that Oliver had provided for them on their way to the base.

"Do you think we can stop for pizza on the way back?" Jackson asked Ash

"I don't see why not" Ash responded and he smiled. Jackson and Ash had become quick friends. Ash didn't trust him completely but she trusted him enough to tell him her name and age.

"We'll be there in ten minutes," Called Henry from the pilot's seat.

"Alright here's the plan" Ash began and they all looked at her "we'll be riding into heavy fire, the fact that this is a major base means that there will be many guards especially around Tristen. Henry is going to stay on the jet and guide us around the building, Jackson and Lucas are going to cause a distraction meanwhile me and Ryder go find Tristen." Henry came and handed them each a comm which they all placed in their ear.

"Remember to be consistent and careful, don't let anyone who's seen you stay alive," She told them and they all nodded.

When the plane landed, Jackson and Lucas went through the front causing a distraction while Ash and Ryder went through the back to try and look for Tristen. The Hydra base was very big and had hallways with dead ends and rooms that locked you in. Anyone who wasn't familiar with the base would have had a very hard time finding their way around, luckily for Ash and the team they had Henry.

"Take the next left hallway until you reach a door that has the label experiments" Ash heard Henry's voice tell them. Ash was in the middle of fighting a few Hydra guards that had come in her direction. Ash and Ryder had split up since there were two places that Tristen could be at and they wanted to move faster.

"Gimme one sec," said Ash as she broke the neck of a Hydra agent. She pulled out one of her knives and threw it behind her. The knife hit its target right in the heart. Ash walked over to the man lying motionless on the floor and pulled out the knife and wiped it on his sleeve to get all the blood off. Ash started jogging down the hallways and followed the directions Henry had given her.

"I'm outside the room," said Ash into the comm

"Be careful, if Tristen is in there then he probably has his guards around him"

"I'm always careful" Said Ash and she heard her teammates disagree.

"I've known you for only two days and I still don't believe that" she heard Jackson from the comms. Rolling her eyes, Ash opened the door and pointed her gun in front of her ready to shoot whoever she saw. There were Hydra doctors surrounding a hospital bed. Ash looked around and spotted Tristen sitting in a chair surrounded by guards. In a brisk motion, Ash shot every single Hydra doctor straight in the head, not missing a single shot. She then put her gun back in her belt and took out the two swords that were placed on her back and turned toward the guards who were all pointing their guns at her.

"Well, I found Tristen," Ash said into the comms. Ash sprinted forward and knocked down the guards one by one. Try as they might to fight back, they were no match for her. Ash wrapped her arms around the last guard's head and twisted. There was a defining snap and the guard fell to the floor. Ash picked up one of her swords that she had dropped and placed it on her back. She then walked slowly toward Tristen who hadn't moved from his chair.

"I've got Tristen alone now," She told the comms.

"Finish it" she wasn't sure which one of her teammates had said it but she didn't need to be told twice. Pulling out a knife from her belt she slid it across Tristen's throat and he slumped back in the chair. Ash put the knife back in her belt and brushed herself off. She now took the chance to look around the room. Her eyes fell on a small boy, who looked to be around the age of seven. He was laying on the hospital beds that the doctors had been gathered around. There were tubes and wires coming out of him and he was tied to multiple different machines. Ash could tell by the heartbeat monitor that the boy was still alive but he looked to be unconscious.

"There's a kid here," She told the comms as she pulled the wires and tubes out of the poor boy.

"What do you mean there's a kid?" Lucas asked.

"They were experimenting on a kid when I came in," She explained. "I'm taking him with me, meet back at the jet" Ash turned her comm off and picked up the boy bridal style. As Ash walked back toward the exit of the base, she encountered a few more guards and shot them with the gun she was carrying under a still sleeping boy. When she made it back to the jet the rest of the team was already there. They helped her place the small boy on a bed in the jet and Henry started checking his vials.

"That's one leader down," said Ryder, and Ash nodded.

"Now I'm not sure about all of you but I could really do with some pizza" Said Ash as she sat back in a chair.

"What about the boy?" Asked Lucas "He could probably do with some food as well, I doubt they fed him well in that place," She said and they nodded

"Pizza works for me," Said Jackson, sitting next to her and closing his eyes. "Wake me up when we get there."

---(time skip)---

The team had picked up three large pizzas and had taken them back to the warehouse. They were all currently eating the pizza and watching the small boy who was slowly waking up. As the boy woke up he looked around frantically.

"Hey little guy," said Lucas but the boy just stared at him.

"Maybe he doesn't speak English?" suggested Ryder.

"Qui es-tu? (who are you?)" asked the boy and Ash smiled at him

"He speaks French," She told them and then looked at the boy who looked terrified.

"Nous n'allons pas Vous blesser (we aren't going to hurt you)" Ash told the boy and he relaxed slightly. "Comment tu t'appelles? (what's your name?)" she asked him

"Pierre" he responded shyly.

"Où sont tes parents, Pierre? (where are your parents Pierre?)" she asked him

"What's going on?" Asked Lucas but Ryder shushed him.

After Pierre had told Ash his address which was a house somewhere in France. Ryder said he was going to France in a few days anyway and could make sure that Pierre got home safe. However, that meant that Pierre was going to have to stay with Ash for a few days. Ash put Pierre in front of her on the motorcycle and sat behind him to make sure he wouldn't fall off. She drove slower than she normally would so that Pierre wouldn't get scared. Ash parked the motorcycle and led Pierre inside the house. She walked into the living room where Liam and Maya were currently sitting. They both turned and stared at Pierre before Maya gave Ash a calculated look.

"Oh Ash, What did you do this time?"
