Avenger's pov:

"What do you mean Peter went back inside?!" Tony shouted as Bucky explained where the kid had gone.

"I tried to convince him not to but he didn't listen." defended Bucky. The team watched as suddenly the building came crashing down. The smell of smoke hit them and suddenly a fire started on the Northside of the building.

"PETER!" shouted Tony and started running towards the now collapsing building, Steve, Nat, and Bucky followed him. The four ran through the broken halls of the now-destroyed building and checked in every room.

"Maybe he got out?" Asked Nat as they searched the last room.

"Guys, what's that?" Steve was looking out the window of the room they were in. Tony, Nat, and Bucky came up behind him and also looked out the window.

"Is that-?" asked Bucky but he was cut off by Tony

"PETER!" Tony shouted and jumped out of the window. Luckily he was wearing his suit so he started flying toward the body on the ground.

Tony rushed up to Peter and turned him over so he was facing Tony. "JARVIS, check for a pulse," Tony said hurriedly.

"Pulse is normal sir" The AI responded and Tony sighed in relief.

"Is he ok?" Asked Nat as the other three came up behind Tony

"He seems fine, just knocked unconscious" Tony told them and they all looked relieved. Peter's eyes suddenly fluttered open and he took a deep breath.

"Hey kid calm down, you're ok" Tony tried to calm Peter as he took fast and harsh breaths.

"What happened?" Asked Peter as he slowed his breathing.

"We were hoping you could tell us that," Said Bucky. Peter brought his hand to his face but stopped when he felt something crumble in his fist. Peter opened his fist and looked confused at the paper that was folded there.

"What's that?" asked Tony

"I'm not sure," Peter responded. Peter opened the paper and read it out loud.

"Ashlyn? Was she here?" Asked Steve

'Yeah... I think I saw her before I passed out." Said Peter remembering the figure that was walking toward him.

"She didn't knock you out did she?" Asked Nat getting angry.

"No, I hit my head, she's actually the one that got me out of the building," Said Peter.

"Well that's... nice of her," said Bucky awkwardly. Bucky thought for a moment before talking again, "Actually it makes sense, when I went upstairs there were already a lot of dead agents" Said Bucky.

"And the agents in front of the base that kept retreating back into the building, they must have been going towards her" Said Nat.

"Why was she here?" Asked Tony

"Maybe she's following us?" suggested Nat

"Whatever she was here for, she made our lives a lot easier" Peter pointed out.

---(time skip)----

The Avengers were now sitting around the kitchen table, eating dinner. There was a (video monitor thingy, I forgot what it's called) Showing Fury who was reading over the notes of the mission.

"You guys rescued twelve out of the thirteen hostages. The only hostage you weren't able to rescue was Brent Anderson. It appears he was dead before you even got there. Five hundred casualties altogether, three hundred injured, and two hundred dead Hydra agents. Carlos Angelo, he was another leader of Hydra, found dead at the base. Not sure which one of you guys made the kill but whoever it was, good job. You just saved SHIELD a hell of a like of work. Good job Avengers" Fury's monitor disappeared. And the team looked at each other

"Which one of you made the kill?" asked Wanda, looking between Nat, Bucky, and Peter.

"Unless he was wearing a Hydra agent uniform then It wasn't me," said Nat taking another bite of her food.

"Wasn't me" said Peter, who had finished eating but still sat with the team.

"I did see a man in a suite on the second floor," said Bucky and everyone looked at him. "But he was dead before I even got there".

"So it was Ashlyn?" asked Clint. Tony had filled in the rest of the team about the note Ashlyn had left.

"That's the second leader she's killed," Pietro reminded them.

"Do you think that's why she was there? To kill Carlos?" Sam asked them.

"Maybe she's going after Hydra leaders?" suggested Peter

"At least we know she isn't with Hydra," Said Steve.

"If she's going after Hydra, shouldn't we be helping her?" Asked Pietro.

"I'm not helping a criminal," said Tony as he crossed his arms.

"She did save my life Mr. Stark" Peter reminded him and Tony sighed.

"I just don't get how she went through all those agents by herself," said Nat

"Maybe she wasn't by herself," said Bucky "think about it, the building blew up from the Northside, that's where the fire started. But Peter was on the Southside of the building and she saved Peter. There's no way she could have gotten from the Northside to the Southside that fast."

"Are you suggesting that there's more of them?!" Tony said exasperatedly.

"There's at least one more person who helped her, we don't know if they are also enhanced" Said Nat.

"Do you think this is just another mission? Getting rid of Hydra leader?" Bucky asked them.

"Why don't we meet her at the next base and find out?" suggested Steve and the team agreed.

Ashlyn's pov:

"Oh my god, Ash!" Maya smacked her head as Ash told her about the run-in with the Avengers.

"Hey, it's not my fault they decided to show up" Maya rolled her eyes and continued cooking dinner.

"I think it's pretty cool how the Avengers still haven't found out anything about you" Piped out Liam from his spot on the couch. Ash smiled and Maya sighed.

"What am I gonna do with you two" She muttered and Ash laughed. The doorbell rang and Liam jumped up from his seat.

"Jack's here" He called out running to the door. Ash had introduced Jackson to Maya, apparently, they already knew each other from the orphanage. Since Maya and Jackson were so close in age they were put in the same group for missions.

"Hey bud" Ash heard Jack say when Liam had opened the door.

"I wanna show you a super cool alarm clock that wakes Ash up by dumping slime on her head," Liam said excitedly as the two walked into the kitchen. Jackson laughed but quickly stopped when Ash sent him a glare.

"Hey Ash, hey Maya," Jackson said happily. The two girls greeted him and they all sat down to eat. Jackson came over a few times a week to hang out with them. Liam was very happy that there was another person that likes building things.

"Did Henry find out anything about the next leader?" Maya asked Jack.

"He found out that it's the person that controls the missions from the orphanage." Ash tensed as he said that. She was going to enjoy killing this one.

"Does he have a name yet?" Asked Ash

"He's working on it"

Maya, Liam, Jackson, And Ash decided to go for a walk to the nearest ice cream shop. Maya had tried to convince them that it was a bad idea since Ash was still being chased by the world's mightiest heroes but Ash brushed it aside by telling her that she can just change her appearance. So now the four of them were walking down the empty streets in New York laughing at a joke Jackson had just told them. Ash had dark auburn hair with brown eyes. The four of them entered the ice cream shop. Ash ordered them all vanilla ice cream sundaes though Liam asked for extra toppings, and they sat down at a table.

"... and that's why I think dogs are better than cats and goldfish are better than starfish" Liam was telling them all about his preferences in life.

"Starfish are pretty cool though," Jackson said

"True, but I've thought this out and I've come to the conclusion that fish are just better in general" Said Liam, Ash rolled her eyes. Ash and Jackson's phones buzzed and they both looked down. Henry had sent them some information about the new Hydra leader.

"Aaron Marshall, old German military, fifty-two years old, last known location is a Hydra base in Germany" Ash read aloud.

"There's a chance he's still at the base in Germany, you guys might want to check it out" Said Maya, and Ash nodded.

"Call Lucas, tell him to meet us at the jet," Ash said to Jack.

20 minutes later, Ash, Jack, Lucas, Henry, and Ryder who had returned from France that morning were boarding the jet. Ash now had the same blonde hair and blue eyes that she always wore when dealing with Hydra.

"We don't know what we are flying into and we don't know whether or not Aaron is going to be there, so be ready for anything," Ash told them. When the jet landed the team walked out with their guns up and ready. Ash shot the guards at the front gates and they walked inside. Right away the Hydra employees noticed their presence. Alarms started ringing around the building and agents were running in every direction. Ash's team split up and Ash ran up a few flights of stairs. As Ash was fighting ten Hydra agents at once she heard Lucas's voice through the comms.

"I may be imagining things, but I think the Avengers just showed up." Ash sighed. Of course, the freaking Avengers decided that now would be a good time for a visit. How they always managed to show up at the worst times, was a mystery to Ash.

"Let me handle it," She said back into the comms. Ash took out her gun and shot every agent that came at her right in the head. She printed back down the stairs until she was back on the first level. Sure enough, there were the Avengers, Fighting the Agents that were now storming toward them. Ash noticed an agent coming toward Peter, who was in his Spider-man suit. Bucky had also noticed and ran forward, but Ash got there first. She wrapped an arm around the agent's neck.

"We have got to stop meeting like this." there was a loud snapping sound as the agent fell to the floor. "That is the second time this week that I have saved your ass, but who's counting?" Ash smirked. More agents were coming toward them, Ash took out her gun and shot them squarely in between the eyes.

"So what are you guys even doing here?" She asked.

"Looking for you," said Bucky. Ash tensed slightly but played it off as she threw a knife toward an incoming agent. As the agent fell to the floor Ash heard Henry from the comms

"I found Aaron, he's on the fifth floor." Ash took out the two swords that were attached to her back.

"Well I'm flattered but-" Ash swung her sword and the head of the incoming Hydra agent fell to the floor, the body followed "-I've got work to do." Ash made her way through the group of agents. She ran up five flights of stairs until she finally reached the correct floor.
