Smg4 Fanfiction: Crystal Splezter - Final hours

Plot: In the wake of Francis going berserk and a devastating injury, Meggy must make a terrible choice.

Everyone went silent, especially Meggy. Francis's club of the Inkweaver came down and smashed...

And sent Desti flying backwards with a protective arm around Crystal as she screamed in pain.

Everyone: Desti!!!

Everyone ran to the room centre, check if Crystal was okay as Tari checked Desti for injuries.

Tari: Desti! What were you thinking, are you hurt?!

Desti: Of course I'm hurt genius! Argh, I think my arm is broken!

As everyone watched from the side, Meggy watched with shock.

Francis had hurt Desti...trying...to kill...HER DAUGHTER!!!

Meggy: Francis, you cold hearted monster! I swear on everything that when I get out of here, you are going to pay for this!

Francis: Oh, don't be so dramatic. A broken arm is better then killing her!

Drawing his notepad, Francis laughed like a maniac as he drew up his next plan...

Francis: If you don't think 1 Sepiroth was enough...than how about...100 Sepiroth's!!!

An army of Sepiroth's surrounded them, making everyone jump back. 1 was hard enough, 100 seemed impossible!

The army of one winged angels leapt forward, making easy work of Boopkins, Smg4 and Luigi. Mario managed to beat one, but another came to take him out as 2 surrounded Axol.

Axol: Stand back!!! Don't make me use my secret technique!

He brought out some paper, creating...

Axol: Paper shurikens!!!

He threw them, only for them to fall to the floor. He was launched back to where Tari, Crystal and Desti were hiding as one came after them. When Desti's failed attempt at throwing a metal pipe didn't work, all three had to run for their lives.

Off to the side, Saiko watched the chaos unfold. She saw Francis standing on the catwalk. If he was taken out, she could stop this.

She leaped to the sky towards him, but a Sepiroth stopped her by throwing his sword in her way. One more foot and she would've been impaled in the jaw.

Landing back to the floor, the whole gang was surrounded and at the lizards Mercy.

Smg4: Oh man, I can't die here! I have so many memes left to live for!

Luigi: M-mario! Any p-plan?!

Mario's plan of suddenly dressing up as Cloud from final fantasy didn't work in the slightest.

Francis: You know Saiko-chan, you can still join my island of waifus if you want.

Saiko: I'd rather die!

Boopkins: Yeah! We're gonna die together! Oh man...

Francis: Very well then...Sepiroth army, attack-!

Suddenly, a tank came crashing through the wall, driven by Bob, Chris and Swag. Francis was knocked off the catwalk and hit the floor as The tank landed on a whole group of Sepiroth's.

Bob: Prepare for trouble...

Swag: And make it double!

Bob: To protect the world from devastation...

Swag: To unite all people within our nation-

Chris: Hey, we don't have time for this! Fire!!

Luigi: The cavalry's here!!!

The tank opened fire around the facility, blowing several Sepiroth's to pieces as Francis screamed in horror. The gang watched with amazement, while Swag and Bob simply sang to the radio.

Bob and Swag (Both singing): What is love? Baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me.

Francis: Nooo! My creations!

As the explosion's finally died down, the last Sepiroth vanished into thin air as Swag and Bob fist-bumped.

Bob: Bruh.

Swag: Bruh.

Chris: Would you two stop making out and go get Francis?

Swag: Guys, I'm not gay.

Infuriated, Francis scrambled for some paper as he tried to create another minion. Unfortunately, as he pressed the pen to the paper, it didn't work. Staring at Inkweaver, the orange orb sparked before dying out. Francis was well and truly screwed.

Axol: What's the matter Francis? Out of ink?

Francis: No, of course not!

Axol stared at him with a smug look...

Then Francis ran.

Axol chased after him as Francis screamed for his life. Saiko chased after them and knocked Francis back with her hammer.

As Francis slid across the floor and screeched told a halt, he looked up and saw Everyone staring down at him with pure rage.

Yep, he was gonna get his ass kicked.

Crystal started by stabbing him in the eyes with crayons, before Smg4 kicked him to the side. Desti kicked him another direction as Boopkins sent him up into the sky with a hit from his body pillow.

As he was midair, Tari threw a duck at him which had little effect, but what did have an effect was Mario uppercutting him in the throat. Meanwhile, Bob, Swag and Chris tried to aim the tank cannon.

Swag: Left, right, other right. Chris, stop being a d*ck and aim the cannon.

Chris: Your directions aren't helpful you asshole.

The tank aimed at Francis as he fell midair, locking on and firing.

Francis rose his arms to block, the shell hitting the container part of Inkweaver and sending him flying back. Cracking the zuccer glass as he hit the wall, he fell to the floor with a thud.

But as he wallowed in pain, a splash of orange ink splattered his face. He looked up confused, just in time for the entire tank of Acquired ink to start emptying on top of him.

Everyone looked confused as the tanker dropped to 0% capacity. Francis emerged laughing, his face covered in ink...

And Inkweaver glowing a bright red and Orange.

Axol: No! He charged Inkweaver to 100%!!!

Boopkins: What? What does that mean?!

Francis grinned, touching Inkweaver to his last bit of paper as it glowed...

The explosion of power sent everyone flying, hitting the wall as Mario used himself as Crystal's safety cushion.

And from the smoke...Goku appeared. His hair glowing blue, people like Saiko and Luigi doubled back in dread.

Smg4: Which Goku is that?

Tari: It's...one of the most powerful beings in anime...Super Saiyan God!

Mario: Huh? So he just dyed his hair blue, what's so special about-

With a wave of his hand, the tank hovered midair. Bob, Swag and Chris barely managed to jump put in time before Goku crushed the tank into a cube like it was a tin can.

Swag: No, my baby!

Bob: You ass! We were gonna go go-karting in that thing!

Francis: Now this is my final form!!!

Smg4 yelled against him walking forward as people struggled to get back to their feet.

Francis: Oh come on, why don't you just give up already?

Smg4: You don't understand. We're either leaving with Meggy...

Behind him, Everyone was gathered to try and fight back. Even The weakened ones, Desti holding her broken arm with a scowl as Crystal had a ballon hammer.

Smg4: Or not leaving at all.

Francis scowled. This would be these fools Final hour...

Francis: Goku! Destroy them!

He turned to them with malice and anger.

Smg4: Team...

Mario: F*ck him up!

Mario, Desti and Smg4 were knocked back by simple kicks as Boopkins tried to eat Goku's hand. Bob's plan was wearing a Majora's mask and trying to scare him.

Bob: Ooga booga! Goku, look at me you stupid b*tch!

Goku threw Boopkins into Bob, tanking three hammer hits from Saiko before discarding her to the side.

Luigi tried to use his green missile attack as Crystal attacked him with her plushie hammer. Neither had any affect as Goku picked both up and threw them to the side. As a last ditch effort, Swag and Chris ran in with Rocket launchers.

Swag: Die you spiky haired b*tch.

Goku easily dodged and used an energy blast (Not bothering to spell that damn attack) to set the guards on fire.

Swag: Damn, something smells good...holy Sh*t! It's me!

About the room, everyone lied defeated on the ground except Tari. She could only hold her duck as a shield as Goku walked up.

Francis: Hehe...finish them off goku-

???: Hey Asshole!

Francis turned to see Desti, standing angrily.

Francis: Ha! What can you possibly hope to do?

Desti: Oh, just distract you.

Francis: Wait, what-?

Axol: For justice and Anime!!!!

Axol leapt from his hiding spot, Tackling Francis. Desti joined him, stepping on Francis's hand as Axol slapped him and took Inkweaver from the other.

Francis: Goku!! Help me!!

Axol: Stall him Tari!

Thinking quick, Tari drew one of her favourite games. Dragon ball Fighters Z!

Tari: You'll never defeat me!

Thankfully, Goku's very character was that he couldn't turn down a challenge. He grabbed a controller and battle Tari on her game.

Nearby, Axol looked worried as Inkweaver lost its glow, Mario returning to his feet.

Mario: Hey Axol, start drawing your Chinese cartoons already!

Axol: I can't! Francis used all the ink!

Smg4: Well, do something quick!

Back at the game, Tari managed to come out the winner which only made Goku madder. He grabbed her by the throat, ready to end her life when a plate of Spaghetti hit him in the back of the head.

Turning and dropping Tari, everyone had gathered for another round that might be the last, one way or another.

Mario: You're gonna see Mario's tunnel of doom.

Saiko: Thanks for stalling Tari!

The scared girl gave a thumbs up from on the floor.

A second fight broke out that was going on the losing end for the gang.

Axol growled to himself. All this because of something he'd made and he couldn't even fix it! If he just had some ink left, he could-!

Meggy: Use the Machine!

Axol went silent, turning to Meggy as she screamed the words at him.

Axol: What?

Meggy: Use the machine, get my ink, put it in your stupid pen and save my damn Friends.

Saiko: Meggy, are you crazy?! You'll die!

Saiko was knocked back as Crystal turned upon hearing it. Running from her hiding spot scared, she ran up to the zuccer and bashed against the glass.

Crystal: No! Mommy, don't go! Please, don't go! Please...

Axol: Meggy...you don't have to do this...

Meggy: If we don't do this, then we all die...

She looked down at Crystal, her eyes swelled as she stared at her.

Meggy: I'm sorry Sunshine...but this is for your own good.

She turned to Desti as she approached, giving a nod. Desti looked back in silence, then nodded back. With a heavy heart, she grabbed Crystal with her one working arm and starting dragging her away.

Crystal: No! No, let go! Let me go!

Desti: Please kid, just don't make this any harder...

Desti forcefully grabbed her and started lifting her away as she thrashed against her grip. With Tears, Meggy looked on with a smile.

Meggy: I'll always be their for you...my little Sunshine...

She turned back to Axol, her eyes burning with rage.

Meggy: Do it Axol!

Axol sighed with a heavy heart. Explosion's of the battle drowned out completely as he put his hand against the glass, Meggy doing the same.

Axol: Uh...are you sure?

She nodded. Axol walked back to the wrecked console for the machine and re-positioned it. One hit from Inkweaver was all it took to get it working again.

He put his hand on the lever, looking back and hoping one last time That Meggy had changed her mind.

She didn't, so he pulled the lever. He got shocked in the process, but the real pain was on Meggy's part.

Meggy hovered midair as the machine turned on again, recommencing the process and draining her ink.

She screamed as the pain became two much, her very skin starting to crack apart. Desti was almost at the door as she stopped to look in awe, but that gave Crystal some time to bite her thumb and jump away.

Desti: Agh! Kid, wait!

Francis: No! Goku, stop them!

As Crystal charged to run to the zuccer, Goku charged an energy blast and shot it at the zuccer. Saiko jumped and blocked the blast with her hammer as Mario, Smg4 and Boopkins tried to to stop him again.

He threw them off easily, charging up more power as he glowed. He launched another energy ball...but Saiko wasn't fast enough.

Crystal put her hands against the glass and called out to her Mom, but barely turned in time as the blast hit the zuccer-

(Kaboom!)

Before it all went up in smoke.

The zuccer broken and in pieces on the floor, everyone looked with horror.

It seemed that not only had Meggy died...so had Crystal.

Francis: Yes! Game over losers!

Mario: Meggy!!!

Desti: Kid!!!

Mario and Desti scrambled to the wreckage, trying their best to move it even when Desti had only one arm to work with. Mario then heard a distant noise under the rubble, almost like...

Mario: M-Meggy?!

The two continued to look as Francis continued to laugh. He had won! It was all over...until...

Axol: Hey Francis!

Francis turned with confusion, then was shocked as he saw Axol, standing in front of the ink tank and raising Inkweaver to the sky.

Axol: It's time to end this!

Francis screamed in Horror as Axol plugged Inkweaver into the tank, draining the ink from the tank and charging Inkweaver back to 100%. He rose it to the sky sparking, writing up an anime creature as Francis panicked.

Axol: You think a Super Saiyan god is the strongest thing Inkweaver can make? Pathetic. I'll show you something more powerful then anything in Anime!

Francis: There's no such thing! Kill him Goku!

Goku charged towards Axol with full intent to kill...when...

The paper flashed with yellow and a figure floated amongst the smoke that followed. Every stared up in shock, not believing their eyes at who stood before them.

Francis: That's not possible! No ones been able to call HIM before!

Axol: You can if you're Inkweaver's true master!

And from the dust...

Came Shaggy. The ultimate god of anime.

Axol: Get him.

Swearing at him, Shaggy and Goku engaged in a battle that shook the air and the walls around them. They moved faster then could be seen by the human eye.

Amongst the battle, Mario and Desti continued to scourge through the rubble.

Desti: Any luck!?

Mario: No! Keep looking for Crystal! Don't worry Meggy, We'll find you!

As Desti dragged a rock out of the way, she saw movement under a small pile of rocks. Another rock moved revealed a small hand.

After removing the rest of the rocks, Desti nearby jumped in shock. She didn't have time to think what had happened though, ripping off her jacket and wrapping Crystal in it, carrying her with one arm.

Crystal: Hmmm...Huh...?

Desti: Don't worry kid, I gotcha.

Shaggy continued to dominate Goku in their fight, knocking him through the next few walls and flying after him.

It took Francis a moment to realise...he was alone. Cursing and staring at the group of angry eyes staring at him, nothing left to protect him and stumbling back with fear.

Francis: Hey hey, let's not do anything rash now. It was just 2 Inklings-

Saiko grabbed his throat, ripping off one of his arms and giving him a taste of what he did to Desti as he screamed.

Saiko: You pathetic waste of space. I'm gonna make you wish you were never born.

Saiko dragged him to a nearby zuccer room, making him scream. He knew exactly what she was planning. Throwing him inside and turning it on, He begged for mercy one last time before he was grasped by excruciating pain.

The machine drained his very life as Saiko walked away, not even wanting to look at this monster as he was left to die.

Saiko: Jackass.

The entirety of Anime island shook as holes in the ceiling broke open, before Shaggy and Goku crashed back through the floor.

Everyone thought they'd won, but Goku rose to his feet. He started screaming, fire burning from his body as Smg4 panicked.

Swag: Crap, He's just taking a giant Sh*t right?

But Axol knew exactly what was happening...

Axol: HE'S GOING TO SELF-DESTRUCT!!!

Everyone panicked. There was no possible way of getting off the island in time, but Shaggy had other plans. Grabbing everyone in less then 10 seconds, he brought them back to the boat they'd arrived in.

Luigi: Oh! Thanks Shaggy!!!

Smg4: Wait...what about the other inklings?!

With a quick salute, Shaggy dashed. The Inklings that had been taken from Inkopalis were back unconscious on the floor in the blink of an eye.

But Mario panicked, screaming.

Mario: Wait, where's Meggy?!

Looks of shock crossed their faces. Axol turned and barely had to speak as Shaggy dashed back to Anime island-

(KABOOM!!!!!)

Before the whole island went up in smoke.

Silence fell...

People looked at smoke rose from the broken island...

Tari looked at the floor, saddened...

Tari: M-Meggy...I never got...I never got to tell her...

Everyone lowered their heads in sorrow. Desti looked at the smoke filled skies in disbelief. Looking at the barley conscious Crystal wrapped in her coat, Desti's heart sank lower. She'd lost a rival...and Crystal had lost her mother. Saiko felt the worst of all.

Saiko: We came all this way and we still couldn't...

Axol felt the most guilt. All this because he built Inkweaver...

Axol: I'm...so sorry guys.

It was his fault...all of it.

But then...a miracle happened.

A shadow covered all of them, looking up...

And seeing Shaggy carrying a limp Meggy.

Mario: Huh? Who the hell is that?

Smg4: Well, it kinda looks like...

Tari: What?!

Meggy's vision was blurry as she felt lighter then air, before she felt herself getting placed down on the decking.

Shadows of nearby people approaching rapidly was her last sight before she passed out...

...

Beeping was the first noise Meggy heard as she regained awareness.

She had the worst headache, finding it hard to open her eyes.

???: Guys! She's waking up!

A few people crowded around her as she heard Tari's familiar voice. As she finally got the strength to look straight, she saw the gang huddled around her. She was in a hospital bed, a monitor at her bedside.

Meggy: Oh man.....my head...Guys!? What happened? Did we kick Francis's ass?!

Everyone just nodded, looking at her uncomfortably.

Meggy: What are you guys staring at? Is something on my face?

Mario: You should probably use a mirror, Mr Meggy.

Mario's stupid phrasing aside, Meggy felt slightly worried as she reached to her bedside table and grabbed a handheld Mirror.

She let out a gasp of shock at what she saw. She was...Human!!!

Her squishy skin was replaced with a smooth, freckled texture. She felt half a foot taller. Her tentacles had been replaced by long and flowing Orange hair. Her goggles and beanie sat on her head, right above her eyes that had changed from pink to brown.

Meggy: What happened to me?!

She dropped the Mirror with a smash as she grabbed her head, Tari's comforting hug being the only thing stopping her from passing out. Her stress easily hid her blush.

Meggy: What on earth happened?! I can't live like this, I...I...!

???: Oh please, it's not that bad.

Curiosity came before the curtain from the next bed slid over. Back in her Jacket, Desti sat in the next bed with a cast on her arm.

Desti: Try breaking your arm, then we'll talk about what's worse.

Meggy curled up as Tari helped sit her up. Thinking it best, dragged herself out of bed and onto shaky legs. She collapsed on the nearby chair.

Luigi: We were all worried. Shroomy even dropped by to give flowers.

Meggy: Heh, that...sounds like him.

She looked around them. Panic flared in her heart at the lack of a special someone.

Meggy: Hey...where's Crystal?

Everyone had a look of sorrow. She got even more worried.

Smg4: She almost died in the blast. When we got you here, she...almost...

Meggy's heart stopped.

Smg4: She's alive, down in the kids care area. She's been waiting to see you.

Meggy: (Sniff) She still only cares about How I am...How long...was I out?

Smg4: 4 days, why?

Meggy thought for a minute, then her heart sank.

May 15th...2nd Crystal's birthday.

She held her face in her hands, groaning before she started crying.

Tari: Meggy, what's wrong?

Meggy: I'm the worst mother in the world! I couldn't protect my own child...and...and now she's in the hospital on her birthday! If I'd just fought a little harder or been a little stronger...we never would've...

Bob: It cloud be a lot worse, someone could've died!

Saiko elbowed Bob in the gut.

Meggy: I...I failed her...

She buckled up and cried, losing any sense of composure as others tried to comfort her.

She cried, broken...

Desti: Hey, chin up. I've been through worse.

Meggy momentarily looked up and listened to Desti.

Meggy: H-Huh?

Desti: My folks tried their hardest, but they worked past their limits even when it seemed hopeless. They've been gone for years...but knowing they did it for me, that was enough to keep me going.

Meggy: So what's your point?

Desti: My point is that when things seem hardest, no matter how bad they get or how many times life knocks you down, you always...get back up.

Meggy: (Sniff) Where's you learn that?

Desti: You genius. Best advice I know from you of all people.

Smg4: Yeah, we know you've been knocked down a lot Meggy.

Tari: But you always have to get back up again!

Luigi: And if you can't do it right now, that's okay!

Boopkins: Because we'll be right here to pick you up!

Bob: Yeah! I'm great at picking up chicks!

Saiko: You know what he means...

Mario: Meggy...

Mario approached, putting a hand on her shoulder.

Mario: Mario isn't very good at expressing himself. In fact, Mario isn't very good at anything. But one thing I'm certain of is...Mario will always have your back. No matter what.

A smile spread across Meggy's face, wiping the tears from her face.

Meggy: Thanks...guys...

Axol: You're welcome...beanie human girl.

Meggy smiled.

Nearby, a nurse whispered to Saiko as she thanked her.

Saiko: They say Crystal is ready to see you if your ready...

Meggy gulped, and after thinking for a minute about How nervous she was, she said...

Meggy: Okay. Let's go.

...

Meggy stared at her through the glass, a look of remorse on her face.

Crystal wasn't spared from what happened to her, losing her inkling self as well. She had Meggy's same Orange hair and Brown eyes.

She was curled up on a hospital bed, looking scared. All this because of her...she probably hated her.

But the moment she walked through the door, it vanished. Crystal looked up, her frown vanishing into a smile as she leapt up.

Crystal: Mommy!

She jumped off the bed, landing on her side but quickly getting back up to hug Meggy's leg.

Crystal: I was so worried! Uncle Mario said you went sleepy, so some people in white hats made me stay here!

She kneeled down to her level.

Crystal: They gave me drawing stuff and Uncle Weegee dropped by and i think something happened to my tentacles. I tried to turn squid but I couldn't-

She stroked her daughter's face, ending her ramblings.

Crystal: Mommy? What's wrong? Did I do something bad?

Meggy smiled, wiping her eyes with her thumb as she started to cry.

Meggy: Nothing...Crystal. Mommy's just...so glad that your okay. I think I also...just really need a hug right now.

She smiled, laughing and hugging Meggy. She hugged back, sniffing and tightly gripping her like she'd fade away.

Meggy: I'm so sorry...

Crystal: Nothing that happened was your fault Mommy...

Meggy: Th...thank you Sunshine...

They released, Meggy smiling.

Meggy: Now, how about we head down for some food? I think it's someone's birthday...

Crystal: Oh! Can we have cake?!

Meggy: The biggest one Money can buy.

She Took her hand.

Meggy: Your gonna have the best birthday ever! Everyone's already upstairs and Mario knew where to get the best table-

Crystal: Mommy?

Meggy: Hmm? Yeah Crystal?

Crystal: Even though your different...we're different now, are you still gonna win Splatfest?

She simply smiled, guiding her out the door.

Meggy: Crystal, I'm gonna win for both of us. I promise.

And as they walked off into an uncertain future, Above the Hospital, Shaggy looked to the sky and took off.

From here, everything was going to change.
