Child 2
19:50, 31 March 2020Mark stepped inside the comfort of his home. He took his shoes off and placed his bag down on the floor. He walked towards the kitchen and made himself an iced coffee. He walked towards his breakfast room and started thinking about some things that had happened throughout his day. One thing led to the other and soon enough mark found himself thinking about his past.
Mark and Jackson were walking to school together when it suddenly started raining. The two kids started running trying to get as less wet as possible. Mark was running so fast that he had not noticed Jackson had fallen, he noticed until he reached the school gates and the other wasn't next to him.
Mark looked back and in a distance he saw something or someone on the floor. Mark ran back to it and surely he found Jackson soaked from the rain, holding his knee while crying. Mark crouched down to his level and helped the younger walk towards the school.
Once they reached the school gates they were rushed inside towards the infirmary. Jackson sat down on the bed. The nurse came in and took care of the scratches on Jackson's knees. She gave both of the boys a towel to dry themselves. When she finished she walked out and told the boys to wait for a pass to get to class.
"Jackson are you okay?"
"Yeah I'm fine. It just hurts a little."
"I'm sorry I should've been paying more attention and should've been taking more care of you."
"It's okay, I should've been paying more attention anyways. You were just trying to not get wet."
"Yeah, but I still feel bad. I'm older than you, I should've been taking care of you."
Jackson started laughing, while Mark was left standing feeling dumbfounded.
"What's so funny?" Asked Mark
Jackson kept on laughing while trying to calm down and he looked at Mark. Once fully calmed Jackson looked at Mark straight in his eyes.
"Really Mark? You taking care of me? I think it's the other way around."
Mark turned beet red and once again Jackson started laughing. Mark started getting more frustrated at the younger's laughter and started walking out of the room.
Jackson noticed and tried running after the older, but failed as his knees hurt. When he tried to stand he fell down on the ground again. Mark heard the groan that came out of Jackson's mouth and hurriedly walked back towards the room they were in. He helped the younger get up and got him to sit on the bed again.
"See you big brat, you got hurt again. I have to be taking care of you. Unless you think you're so big and tough then be my guest and try to walk again."
Jackson pouted at Mark and the older turned his back towards him.
"I'm sorry Mark. I didn't mean to get you mad. It's just I always take care of you and it feels weird for you to take care of me."
Mark turned around and his facial expression softened at the sight of the boy in front of him. He walked toward Jackson and wrapped the younger in his arms. Jackson liked the warmth he was receiving from the older; he leaned more into it.
"I understand Jackson. I like it when you take care of me, but I can take care of you too."
Mark stood there until he heard the little almost inaudible snores coming out of Jackson. Mark softly giggled and placed the younger down on the bed. He wrapped him in a blanket he saw across the room and was about to leave when he heard someone speak.
"Mark can you please stay? I don't want to be lonely."
Mark turned towards the younger and waddled his way toward the bed he laid down and Jackson wrapped his arms protectively around the older. Mark placed his head against Jackson's chest and they both fell asleep together.
When the nurse walked in; she saw the two boys sleeping peacefully. She found the sight of the two adorable, so she called their teachers and excused them from their classes that day.
