Chapter 11: Tests & Scores

It's the end of the month and the 1st-years had their last test in english, the worst subject claimed Hinata. He was especially nervous for today because he couldn't get good grades no matter how hard he tried. And for Kageyama, he was just average, if he tried he could get good grades. Daichi told them to get back to the gym as soon as possible after last period because he wanted to go over which teams they were gonna face in the Winter Tournament.

Today their teachers were giving the tests back and Hinata couldn't wait for her to call him up. He sat still in his chair, unable to move. His nervousness taking the best of him. He was prepared for the best and the worst. Student after student got to go up and got their tests and then leaved. There were only Hinata and a couple of students left when his teacher finally call his name. He reacted a little late but got up and received his test scores. He looked at the final score in relief. Hinata had made it to the Winter Tournament! He was so happy he practically was shaking. His teacher patted him on his back and wished him good luck. The small boy ran trough the corridors to Kageyama's class. The corridor was filled with students so there wasn't much running. When he finally reached his friend's class he was unable to see Kageyama, then he felt a hand on his wrist dragging him away. Hinata looked up to see Kageyama dragging him trough the crowd.

"Kageyama-kun!"

"Come on dumbass, we're going to be late."

They ran together trough the corridors and outside. A lot of students were outside too, most of them walking home or taking their bikes or going to different clubs. Hinata was happy to have passed in his worst subject. The small spiker skipped around Kageyama like a little bird, and Kageyama was of course irritated by it. He then pushed him away a little out of irritation.

"Watch out!" A boy on a bike screamed. Hinata turned around to meet his doom. His face gone from happy to terrified. Kageyama had accidentally pushed him in front of a biker.

Hinata..?

Then out of panic Kageyama reached for Hinata's wrist once again and dragged him torwards himself. It kinda felt like a dance move when he twisted Hinata into his arms. The biker regained his balance and kept on riding his bike home. Hinata breathed heavily out of fear. He was in Kageyama's strong arms. Even when being scared, he felt safe around the taller boy. Hinata looked up hitting his back head onto Kageyama's chest, to see Kageyama's eyes, his dark blue eyes were also terrified.

"K-Kageyama... thanks, for saving me." Hinata tried to force out.

"D-dumbass, we can't win the tournament without you, idiot." He let go of Hinata after a minute of both of them breathing. Kageyama looked at his hands, still terrified. How could I? It wasn't on purpose... I-I'm hurting people... He felt his vision become a little blurred. Luckily, Hinata didn't catch that, he just kept walking to the gym slightly scarred of what happened. Kageyama then snapped out of it and followed him.

In the gym everyone was waiting. Hinata ran torwards the team to tell them. He used gestures and sounds to play out what happened. Kageyama didn't want him to mention the twisting-into-arms thing but he didn't stop his show. Though surprisingly he didn't mention it at all, Kageyama really thought he would. Hinata knew Kageyama didn't want to bring that up because it was embarrassing, he would also feel the same if he was in Kageyama's shoes.

After his little play everyone laughed out of relief their little decoy didn't get smashed by a bike. Daichi and coach Ukai then stood up to talk about the positions and which teams they're going to face. The first team he mentioned was none other than Aoba Johsai Highschool, Kageyama flinched at the sudden words.

"Kageyama! Kageyama-kun! It's the school you went to in middle school! Wow, we get to meet your former teamates when we get there!" Hinata whispered, but it was more of a loud yell than a whisper. Kageyama flinched once again and wanted to punch him or something but he held himself back. He was too scarred of what happened with the bike.

"Yeah, now shut up." The team looked at him chocked. They really thought they were going to start fighting like they usually did. Some of the team like, Sugawara, Tsukishima, Daichi and Tanaka knew exactly how Kageyama was in middle school and how his team betrayed him in the middle of a game. Will he be okay? Suga thought to himself.

I knew they were coming but not so soon, Shit.
