Chapter 4

10:17, 16 March 2017

Kim was the first one awake the next morning. She checked her watch and it said it was five thirty.

"Ugh, why must my body wake myself up this early?" She quietly groaned to herself. As she looked around the cabin and noticed everyone else was sound asleep, she tried to make her way down the ladder as quietly as possible. Leslie was talking in her sleep, making her laugh.

"No! That's my chocolate!" Leslie yelled before jolting herself awake. "That's my-" she started. "Oh wait, I'm awake now. Whoops." She nervously laughed. Kim told her that it was only five thirty.

"Are you serious?" She yawned.

"Unfortunately."

"We should go get some breakfast." Leslie said as she got out of bed and put her flip flops on.

"Is the mess hall even open this early?"

"Yeah, the cooks are always in there early preparing breakfast. There's a ton of people at this camp, so they always have to go in early. I'm sure they'd be fine with us grabbing a muffin or something."

Both girls walked quietly onto the porch, threw on their sweatshirts on and headed down the back way to the mess hall.

"Morning, ladies." The head cook smiled when they walked in.

"Good morning, Camille." Leslie said as she was walking up to the counter.

"You ladies hungry? We have some muffins and bagels out if you guys want."

"There's strawberry cream cheese, right?" Kim asked.

"Oh yes. It's a favorite around here." Camille smiled and handed her a little tub of it. She set out two things of orange and apple juice for the girls.

"I was dreaming about Kelly stealing my chocolate. I'd kick his cute little behind if that ever happened. Even though I'm not even into that." Leslie said, laughing.

"What do you mean?" Kim asked her.

"I mean he's cute and all, but I'm not into that."

"Not into him or guys?"

"Guys. They're not my thing."

"So you're...?" Kim didn't finish her sentence because she didn't want to sound rude.

"It's okay, you can say it. I'm a lesbian. I'm not ashamed of it either." Leslie said, taking a sip of apple juice.

"Oh no, I have no problem with that. I just didn't wanna sound rude." Kim said.

When the girls finished their quick breakfast, they decided to sneak to the opposite side of the camp to where the boys' cabins were.

"We'll be dead if they catch us!" Kim whispered.

"Shhh!" Leslie shushed her as they snuck upon the cabin that Kelly, Antonio, Adam and the others were in.

"Excuse me?" A voice said. Both girls went wide eyed.

"Oh crap!" Leslie whispered a little too loud. They both turned around slowly.

"And you are?" Kim asked.

"I'm Brian. But everyone just calls me Otis." He extended his hand out and both girls shook it.

"I'm Kim and this is Leslie." She pointed to her.

"Shouldn't you be on the other side of the camp right now?" He laughed. Leslie rolled her eyes.

"Look Otis, you know Kelly?" She asked him intently.

"Severide? Yeah, I know him. What evil plan do you want me to carry out on him?"

She handed him a bottle of honey. He made a weird face.

"Put this in his shampoo bottle." She said, trying not to crack a smile.

"You got it." He grabbed the bottle from her and snuck to the boys bathroom. After he walked away, the girls high fived before the took off to get ready for the morning. When they got back, the other girls were awake.

"Where did you guys disappear to?" Sylvie asked.

They both looked at each other.

"We had an early breakfast and that was it." Leslie tried her best to keep her mouth shut about the trick that was gonna be pulled on Kelly. Ms. Danforth came out of the counselors quarters with an exhausted expression on her face.

"Good morning girls." She said as she held down a yawn.

"Morning." They all said at the same time.

"We have a half hour until breakfast, so you guys have that amount of time to get ready. Alright girls?"

They all nodded and she disappeared back into the counselors quarters. Gabby had to be practically kicked out of bed, she wasn't exactly what you would call a morning person.

"I'm so not doing this today." She said, laying her head on her outfit for the day.

"Come on Dawson, we have a full day of kicking butt ahead of us. Don't you want to see your brother get kicked in the face with a soccer ball?" Erin said, poking Gabby with her shoe. She sprung right up.

"Oh do I ever!" She picked up her clothes and dashed to the cabin's bathroom.

"That's what I thought." Erin laughed to herself as she headed in the same direction.

The girls were slow and sluggish as they headed to the mess hall. Both counselors could clearly tell that none of the girls were morning people. After breakfast, it was time for the daily activities to start. It was Deer Beach versus Timber Mound in a game of baseball. Timber Mound was the cabin that Otis and the guys were in. As Leslie picked up a bat, she went over to Kelly.

"Hey Severide, how's your shampoo?" Everyone in her cabin laughed, along with everyone in his cabin.

"NOT COOL!" He scowled his eyes at her.

"Well I thought it was funny." She walked over to home plate and got into position. Antonio was the pitcher.

"Ready?" He asked her.

"Just throw the damn ball, Dawson. I wanna see it smack you right in your stupid face."

Gabby got a huge smirk on her face and looked away to avoid laughing.

Antonio threw the ball, she hit it so hard it went flying and landed right in the pool. Everyone was clapping as she ran around the bases.

"IN YOUR BIG STUPID FACE!" She laughed and pointed at Kelly as she did a backflip onto home plate.

"Alright, Kim. It's your turn." Ms. Lopez said, handing her a bat and helmet.

"Do I have to? I'm not really good at this game." She told her.

"It's about having fun, not who's the best." She gave her a reassuring smile. She took a deep breath as she walked up to home plate.

"Antonio, be gentle on her or I'll kick you down that hill!" Gabby yelled.

"Yeah yeah yeah." He said, getting into position.

"Hurt her and I'll hurt you." Erin glared at him.

He huffed. "Stupid girls." He said to him and tossed the ball. In the end, the score was tied.

"So, who wins?" Julie asked.

"How about we call it a tie and go and head over to the volleyball court?" A dirty blonde haired counselor asked.

"Oh he's cute!" Gaby elbowed the girls. "Who is that?"

"Easy there, sis. That's Mr. Casey. He's fifteen and you're ten. Don't even think about it." She gave him a dirty look and walked over to him.

"Hi Mr. Casey. I'm Gabby."

"Nice to meet you. I'm Mr. Casey. I do believe your brother is the other counselor with me?"

"Yep. I feel bad for you though." They both laughed.
