CHAPTER 34

“Alexander listen to me…” Magnus said closing the door in his room.

“How can you hide something like this from me?” Alec shouted

“Alexander it was just…”

“Magnus I don’t want to talk about this here…let’s wait till we get home…I don’t want people at work to gossip about anything…” Alec said and walked out of Magnus’s office room.

Magnus sent a message to Hayley and she came running inside.

“What happened?” she asked.

“Alexander found out about it” Magnus sighed.

“But how??”

“The rep who came…he knew Alexander…and he told him about the contract…”

“Damn it!! What are we going to do now? Where is he?” 

“He went into his cabin…I don’t know Hayley…what should I do…the only way is to explain what happened but then he will go and fight with my dad…I don’t want him to do that…”

Hayley put her hand on Magnus’s shoulder “Hey…you’ll be able to talk this through…don’t worry okay? Alec will understand why you hid it from him…”

That evening Alec came home before Magnus, he was too furious that he didn’t wait for Magnus to finish his meeting he just came home.

When finally, Magnus came home Alec went inside their room and Magnus followed him.

“Alexander I’m sorry I didn’t mean to hide it from you…”

“How many times have I told you to not keep things from me Magnus? Why do you always do that?” 

“I’m sorry baby…I was just thinking about your health and was trying to find a way to tell you…”

“Trying to find a way? What ways Magnus? You could’ve just told me…but you went behind my back and accepted Roberts company into yours? Even knowing what he was up to?”

“Alexander listen there are reasons behind this…it was not my decision…and I was not informed okay…”

“Then who was it Magnus? Who would take decisions if not for you?”

“Baby listen…it’s just that…promise me you won’t cause any trouble and I’ll tell you…you need to calm down”

“Calm down? Cause trouble?” Alec sarcastically laughed “Are you telling me to stay calm knowing that my own dad is taking advantage of my fiancé?”

Magnus sighed and walked out of the room without saying a word.

Alec followed him into the kitchen.

“Are you going to tell me or not?” Alec asked

“If you promise to stay calm I will…” Magnus replied.

Alec took a deep breath. “Fine…I promise tell me…”

Magnus nodded

“First remember, this decision was taken for some reason which I was not told about…and I’m not allowed to dig deep into it…”

Alec was listening while Magnus spoke

“For some reason, dad has taken this decision to let Robert’s company to partner with us for the new project” Magnus said with a sigh.

“Your dad?” Alec asked “Why?”

“That’s what I don’t know Alexander…This is one reason I couldn’t tell you…”

“I’ll go and talk to dad” Alec said standing up and walking to the door.

“Alexander stop!” Magnus said grabbing his arm “I told you to stay calm…”

“I AM CALM MAGNUS” he said breaking with each word.

“No you are not…you will go and fight with dad…I don’t want that to happen…”

“Then what do you suggest we do? Just watch till Robert ruins your life and my life?”

“No Alexander…we will find the reason for this decision somehow…but you can never let dad know about this…you can’t show him that you know about any of this…”

“How are we supposed to do that?”

“Hayley is already working on it and I thought of asking Simon for help…”

Alec sighed again “Okay fine…but if this doesn’t work, I’m going to talk to your dad…”

“Okay…” Magnus said with a nod.

Magnus came closer to Alec and put his arms around his waist “You still mad at me?” he asked moving his face closer.

Alec rolled his eyes and turned his face away.

“Oh c’mon baby…don’t stay mad at me…I’m really sorry…I’ll never ever hide anything from you again…”

“You said the same thing before…” Alec said looking at Magnus straight in the eyes.

“But this time I swear I won’t do it ever again…please don’t be mad at me…please” Magnus said with puppy eyes and rubbing his nose on Alec’s.

Alec sighed “Fine…I’m not mad at you anymore…but you swore not to hide anything...next time I won’t forgive you…”

Magnus smiled “I love you…” he said kissing Alec on the cheek.

“I love you too Mags” Alec said leaning his forehead to Magnus’s and closing his eyes.

“We will get through this together…I promise” Magnus said hugging Alec.

“Hmm…”

“Now let’s have dinner…” Magnus said holding Alec’s hand.
