CHAPTER 33

Alec and Magnus arrived at work way early than the other days. Alec was very energetic and he went straight into his cabin and started to work on what he has missed for the past few days.

Magnus was happy at the same time he was nervous. I’m glad my Alexander is back to normal, he thought and went into his office. He then called the security room to confirm that they were aware of Magnus’s order and then he started his normal day at work. 

“Look who’s back!” Hayley said walking into Alec’s cabin and handing him a file.

“Hey Hayley…thank you for covering everything for me…” Alec said with a smile.

“No problem Alec…this is the file of your new project…we will have a briefing in a few hours…”

“New project? What about the one I was assigned to?” Alec asked.

“Don’t worry I’m handling it with Magnus…you can just focus on this…” she said and walked to the door and turned again “Alec don’t tire yourself too much…I’m on strict orders to not let you work too much…” she said with a smile and walked out of the cabin.

2 days passed without any problems at work. Magnus was able to postpone the meetings with Roberts company but he knew he couldn’t do it forever. 

“Magnus…I don’t think we can postpone this again…” Hayley said

“I know…I think I have an idea…can we ask just 2 reps from the company to come for the meeting without letting Robert come?” Magnus asked.

“I’m not completely sure…Robert insists to come…but I’ll try to pull some strings…” she said.

Magnus nodded and waited for her response.

After a few minutes, Hayley peeped from the door and gave a thumbs up and smiled. 

Magnus sighed a sigh of relief. Let’s survive for a few more days till I find a way to tell Alexander…Magnus thought.

“Thank you Mr. Bane…I’ll let Robert know about the agreement, it’s a pleasure to work with you” the representative from Robert company said shaking hands with Magnus.

Magnus nodded with a smile. “Then, I’ll see you during the next meeting”

They smiled and parted ways.

Alec was waiting to have lunch with Magnus, so he was sitting at the lobby area which was right in front of the meeting room.

Alec smiled from ear to ear when he saw Magnus coming out of the room and walked towards him.

“Let’s go have lunch baby…I was waiting till you finished your meeting” Alec said holding Magnus’s hand. Magnus smiled and nodded.

“What should we have for lunch?” Magnus asked.

“Hmm…I was thinking about going to that new restaurant across the street…what do you think?”

“Okay…let’s go” Magnus said with a bright smile.

“Alec? Alec Lightwood?” Alec heard a familiar voice calling him from behind and turned to see who it was.

“It is you Alec!!” the man said.

“Uncle Patrick?” Alec asked confused. He hasn’t seen Patrick for almost 5 years.

“What are you doing here?” He asked and noticed him holding hands with Magnus.

“I work here…” Alec replied. “Aren’t you working in my dad’s company? What are you doing here?”

“I still work with him…and we just signed an agreement with Mr. Bane…we’ll be working together…” he said with a smile.

“WHAT??!!” Alec asked looking at Magnus.

“Mags did you sign a contract with Robert’s company? Why?” Alec asked 

“Alexander…I can explain…I was going to tell you but…” Magnus couldn’t complete his sentence.

“I don’t need explanations Magnus…how could you do this to me?” Alec asked in an angry tone.

Patrick was confused.

Alec glanced at Patrick for a second and then stormed away.

“Did I say something wrong?” Patrick asked.

“I…uh…Mr. Patrick, I’ll talk to you later, I’m sorry about Alexander’s behaviour” Magnus said and ran behind Alec.
