CHAPTER 32

“Mags how was your day? I thought you’d be here before 7…” Alec asked as soon as Magnus entered the house.

“Not bad baby…” Magnus said.

“Sure? You don’t look so good…” Alec said putting his hand on Magnus’s forehead.

“Just tired…and hungry” Magnus said hugging Alec.

“You came right on time…I was making pasta…” Alec said dragging Magnus into the kitchen and making him sit down at the table “Italian style” he said with a smile.

Magnus caressed Alec’s cheek “smells good” he said with a smile.

Alec smiled back and sat with Magnus to have dinner.

“How does it taste Mags” Alec asked

 Magnus was still thinking about Robert and what Asmodeus did and he was zoning out. He wasn’t paying attention to Alec.

“Mags? You okay?” Alec asked.

Magnus snapped out and looked at Alec. “Sorry baby…what were you saying?” 

Alec looked at Magnus with confusion knowing that something was bothering him. “If the pasta tasted good…”

“Yess baby…it tastes amazing…you are a great chef now…” Magnus said with a smile.

“Mags you sure you are okay?” Alec asked putting his hand on Magnus’s shoulder.

Magnus nodded and continued to munch down the rest of his dinner.

“I’ll do the dishes…go freshen up” Alec said. Magnus nodded and went into the room.

Alec knew that something was wrong but he also knew that if it was very serious Magnus would take his time to think and explain it to him later. So knowing that he didn’t go behind it. 

That night Magnus couldn’t stop thinking of his dad’s actions. It was a complete mystery why he agreed to help Robert. He wanted to find out but he also didn’t want to go against his father’s words. 

Alec snuggled in closer into Magnus’s arms and mumbled “baby go to sleep”. Magnus caressed Alec’s forehead with his thumb till he fell asleep.

Alexander how will you react if you get to know about this. I don’t know if I should tell you about this… Magnus thought looking at Alec who was sleeping like a baby smiling in his sleep. I don’t want to make you cry again…what should I do Alexander? What am I supposed to do now? Magnus sighed and stared at the night sky through the glass window thinking about how he was going to tell Alec about this.

“Alexander? Why you up so early?” Magnus asked sitting up on the bed.

“Getting ready to go to work after a long time…” he said in excitement.

“Baby you can stay home for a few more days…”

“No Mags…I’m so bored at home, I want to go to work…I won’t work too hard, I promise”

Magnus knew he couldn’t hold Alec back from going to work so he just smiled and nodded.

“I made breakfast…I’ll set the table…take a shower and get ready…I don’t want to get late today…” he smiled with excitement and left the room.

First thing Magnus remembered was Robert. He quickly took out his phone and called Hayley.

“Good morning Hayley…I’m really sorry to call you so early….” Magnus said on the phone.

“Morning Magnus…What’s up?” she asked and Magnus heard her yawn.

“Alec wants to come to work today and I don’t think I can stop him…he’s really excited…”

“So that’s great right?”

“It is…if Robert doesn’t appear in front of him at the office…”

“Oh shit, I forgot…there’s a meeting today right?”

“Yeah…we have to postpone it, can you let them know?” Magnus asked.

“Sure, I’ll send a mail now…”

“And Hayley…I want you to tell the security to not let Robert inside the building…no matter what happens he can’t come inside…”

“Okay will do that…but Magnus can you hide this for a long time?”

“I’ll try as long as I can…I don’t want Alec to collapse again…”

“Collapse again? Why would I collapse” Alec asked suddenly appearing.

Magnus was caught off guard and he didn’t know what to say…he stared at Alec for a while.

Alec raised an eyebrow and walked to him.

“I’m talking to Hayley…I told her not to give you too much work…” Magnus finally said and Magnus heard Hayley sighing in relief.

“Don’t worry Hayley…I won’t work too hard…”Alec said in a loud voice so Hayley could hear through the call.

“Mags…take a quick shower and come have breakfast…” Alec said kissing Magnus on the cheek and left the room.

“Hayley…you know what to do right?” Magnus asked as Alec left.

“Yes Magnus…don’t worry…” she said and kept the phone.
