CHAPTER 28

“Izzy I want to talk to you about something…can we meet up?” Magnus asked on the phone.

“Yeah sure Magnus…I’ll be free after 3.30 today…” she replied

“At Rousseau’s?” 

“Sure…Magnus is something wrong?” 

“I’ll tell you when we meet up…” Magnus said and kept the phone.

Alec was not at work, and Magnus couldn’t reach him as well. He left a few messages but Alec hasn’t replied to any of them.

As soon as the meetings were done, Magnus went to meet Izzy at Rousseau’s.

As Magnus entered, he saw Izzy waving at him.

“What’s up?” she asked.

Magnus inhaled deeply and let it out “It’s about Alexander…”

“What’s wrong?” 

“He has not been himself for the past few days…and I feel like it has something to do with Robert…I don’t understand what to do…”

“What do you mean different?” Izzy asked and Magnus explained how Alec acted for the past few days. “now he’s not coming to work as well…”

“Izzy…I just want to know why Robert’s visit has affected Alexander more than you or Jace…” Magnus sighed.

Izzy smiled “Dad was Alec’s hero in everything he did…they were inseparable…dad loved Alec so much and Alec loved dad so much too…I remember when we were around 7 or 8 he used to take Alec camping every weekend…it was a wonderful time…and when Jace came to stay with us…Dad loved all 3 of us the same way…he never showed any difference towards Jace…Alec respected him so much…he always wanted to follow dad’s steps and become a successful businessman…but suddenly everything started to fall apart…Mom found about his affair and they got divorced…Alec was the one who was mostly affected…dad just left him…he didn’t even look back at him the day he left…there wasn’t even a hug….” Izzy stopped there and sighed with tears in her eyes.

“Izzy I’m so sorry…” Magnus said hugging Izzy.

“I’m fine…” Izzy said wiping off her tears. “Then Alec started to change, he had anger issues and anxiety issues…he became an introvert…he only concentrated on school work…now he hates dad because he never came back…not even once…”

Magnus also had tears filling up his eyes. You’ve gone through so much Alexander…he thought.

“Izzy I’m sorry for making you remember those bad memories…” Magnus said.

“It’s fine Magnus…I want you to look after Alec well…he really needs you right now…” Izzy said hugging Magnus and Magnus promised to stay by Alec’s side no matter what.

When Magnus returned home Alec was in the living room watching TV.

“Hey baby…” Magnus said sitting next to Alec “You ordered pizza?” he asked.

Alec nodded without looking at Magnus, still focusing on the TV.

“I thought we were going out for dinner…” Magnus said.

“No…I just felt like staying home…” Alec said.

“Okay” Magnus smiled.

Magnus walked to his room and saw a total mess. He sighed and cleaned up the mess. He saw Alec’s bag on the floor half opened. He took the bag and put the pen which has fallen out when he noticed a bottle of pills. 

Is he sick? Magnus thought and took out the bottle of pills and walked to the living room.

“Alexander what are these pills for?” he asked showing the bottle.

Alec suddenly surprised and shocked at the same time came to Magnus in two long strides and grabbed the bottle. “Did you go through my stuff?”

“I…uh…no Alexander…your bag was on the floor so I just…” Magnus couldn’t finish the sentence.

“Why the hell do you want to go through my stuff?” Alec shouted.

“What are those pills for Alexander?” Magnus asked now in a serious tone.

“Vitamins…they are vitamins”

“Let me check them with our family doctor…” Magnus said reaching out to get the bottle from Alec’s hand because he sensed something was not right.

“No…” Alec said.

“What’s wrong with you? I’ll just check if they are good…” Magnus said trying to get the bottle 

“I said NO” he shouted and Alec suddenly pushed Magnus so hard that he fell on the floor and hit his arm on the table.

Magnus held his arm in pain, tears running down his cheeks.

“Mags…. Mags I’m sorry…baby I’m sorry” Alec said running and kneeling next to Magnus. He saw Magnus hand bruised and quickly ran get some ice. He quickly brought the ice and kept it on Magnus’s bruised arm.

“I’m sorry baby…I don’t know what’s gotten into me…I’m so sorryyy” Alec said crying

“It’s okay baby…it’s okay…I’m fine” Magnus said putting his free arm around Alec and hugging him tightly.
