CHAPTER 22

When Alec and Magnus heard the doorbell, they looked at each other. 

“Who is it now?” Alec asked getting out of bed and looking at the time.

“Alexander! Wait!” Magnus said quickly jumping out of the bed. “I’ll go and check, you can rest…you had a long day…”

Alec nodded so Magnus went to check the door. He felt more nervous as he approached the door. He waited for few seconds, took a deep breath and opened the door. And it was Robert.

“Why are you here?” Magnus asked in a sturdy tone.

Robert raised an eyebrow and tried to come in pushing Magnus from the door. But Magnus blocked him from entering.

“I told you not to come here again” Magnus said gritting his teeth.

“Why would I need your permission to go into my house?’ Robert asked pushing Magnus. Magnus didn’t give up he pushed Robert back out of the door. 

“How dare you!!!” Robert shouted.

And right then Alec came out from the room.

“What’s taking you so long baby? Who is it?” Alec asked walking to the door.

“Alexander it’s…uh…” Magnus said trying to close the door behind him but Robert pushed the door hard and came inside.

“It’s me”

Alec’s eyes widened and he stood there shocked.

“Alec I missed you” Robert said walking to Alec and hugging him.

Magnus didn’t know what to do, he felt useless. 

Alec was still standing there frozen while Robert was hugging him. It took him a few seconds to come back to his senses. He snapped out of it and pushed Robert away making him hit the wall behind him.

“Why the hell are you here?” Alec shouted.

“Alec calm down…I just missed you…” Robert said coming closer.

“Stay away from me!!” Alec shouted.

“You miss me? You miss me? Don’t make me laugh Robert” Alec said.

“Get out of the house!! Right now!!” 

“But Alec listen…” Robert tried to say

“I don’t have anything to listen to…just get out!!” Alec shouted again. “Don’t even try to get close to me, Izzy and Jace…” Alec said pushing him.

He pushed Robert until he was out of the door and slammed the door shut and ran into his room.

Robert kept banging the door for a few minutes and then he left.

Alec was inside the washroom.

“Alexander! Open the door! Why did you lock yourself inside?” Magnus said banging the door “Alexander please…baby can you open the door?” but there was no answer.

Magnus didn’t have a choice so he quickly ran into the kitchen, and brought the hammer. He hit the door lock a few times and broke it.

“ALEXANDER!!” 

Alec was sitting under the shower, his whole body drenched in water. He was crying his eyes out.

Magnus was so shocked to see this, he has never seen Alec this broken.

“Baby…it’s okay…it’s going to be fine” Magnus said hugging Alec as he closed the shower.

Alec kept on crying, hugging Magnus and Magnus kept comforting him. After about 20 minutes Alec’s crying turned to a sobbing and Magnus pulled back to see his face. 

“Baby you’re burning up” Magnus said touching Alec’s forehead.

Then he quickly ran inside the room and took out a towel. 

“Baby let’s go inside please…” he said as he helped Alec up and wrapped Alec from the towel. Then he helped Alec remove all his wet clothes and changed him into some warmer clothes. 

“Baby, I’ll quickly make you something warm…” Magnus said tucking Alec under the blanket.

Tears were still running down Alec’s cheeks. 

Why did he come back? After all this time? Why does he hurt us so much? Why didn’t he visit us even once for all these years? Alec kept on thinking. 

He took out his phone and sent a text to Izzy telling her about their dad’s visit. Izzy called him as soon as she saw the message.

“Big brother are you okay?” Izzy asked on the phone.

Alec didn’t reply but from all the sobbing Izzy understood that he was definitely not okay.

“Big brother, I’m coming to see you…” Izzy said

“Don’t Izz…I’m fine…” he said as it was almost 11.00 pm even though he wanted Izzy by his side.

“No big brother…you are not fine…I’ll come now” she said.

“No Izz…it’s too late…” Alec replied.

“I’ll come tomorrow…early as possible…Is Magnus around?” 

“In the kitchen…making something for me to drink…” 

“Okay…just calm yourself down okay? I’ll come to talk to you…” she said.

“Did you tell Jace?” 

“Not yet…but I think I should tell him…”

“Hmm…you should…he might approach him as well…” Alec said with a sigh.

“Big brother…you should go to sleep now okay? Don’t think too much, we’ll do something about him together…”

“Hmm…okay” he said and kept the phone.

After a few minutes, Magnus came with a bowl of soup and sat next to Alec. 

“I told Izzy” Alec said.

“Okay…what did she say?”

“She said that she’ll come tomorrow…” Alec said sitting up.

Magnus nodded. Then he fed Alec the soup and adjusted his pillow so he could go to sleep.

“Magnus can you hold me?” Alec asked.

Magnus smiled and got into bed. He touched Alec’s cheek, wiped off the dried tears and kissed him on the forehead.

“Let’s go to sleep” he said putting his arms around Alec and hugging him tightly.
