CHAPTER 08

Few hours after Catarina has left, Alec walked to the kitchen as he was feeling hungry. He took out the box of cereals and sat on the couch. All Magnus cares about is work…he could have stayed home today…Alec thought. Then he reached out to his phone and saw a message from Magnus.

-I’ll be late baby; you should get some rest…don’t wait for me.

Alec rolled his eyes and lay down on the couch. I don’t need to rest, I need to talk to you, work was important to you more than me that’s why you left me…and even when you came back you went to work again leaving me, Alec thought and sighed. 

It was almost noon and Alec was too bored at home. So he called his sister.

“Izz are you free?” he asked.

“Big brother I’m at work…what’s up?” she asked.

“No I just called to check up on you…” he replied

“Check up on me? That’s new…tell me big brother what’s wrong…how did things go with Magnus?” she asked.

“I couldn’t talk to him…” he sighed.

“What do you mean?” she asked “he came back last night but you didn’t talk with him?”

“No…I caught a fever and I was too weak to talk…” he said

“What? Are you okay? How are you feeling now?” Izzy asked worried.

“I’m okay…but I’m not okay Izz…”

“Is it about Magnus?” she asked

“Hmm…” he sighed and then he heard someone calling Izzy “Izz you should get back to work…I’ll talk to you later…” he said

“I’ll come by in the evening big brother…I love you” 

“Love you too Izz” he said and kept the phone.

Alec sighed once more and took his jacket and went outside. He had almost 6 hours left until Magnus got home, and he didn’t have anything to do at home, so he thought of dropping by Uni and collecting some of the work sheets he had to submit next month. 

“Hey Aiden” Alec said when he saw Aiden walking towards the library.

“Alec! Haven’t seen you in a while…y’all don’t have lectures today right? Josh said that he didn’t…” he said.

“Yeah we don’t…I just dropped by to collect some work sheets…” Alec smiled.

“Had lunch?” Aiden asked.

“Nope, not yet…” Alec replied.

“You should join us then…Josh and Sebastien are joining too” 

Since I’ll anyways be alone at home, Alec thought and said “Okay sure” with a nod.

After having lunch and chatting with his friends whom he met after a long time, he got ready to go home. He took out his phone to call Izzy and saw about 20 missed calls from Magnus, about 5 missed calls from Izzy and 3 missed calls from Simon.

Oh shit…I forgot to remove the silence mode, I’m doomed, he thought and hurried to go home.

When he opened the door, he saw Izzy sitting on the couch, Simon sitting on the stairs and Magnus walking from right to left touching his forehead.

As soon as Alec stepped in all 3 of them turned to him. “ALEXANDER!!!” “ALEC!!!” Magnus, Izzy and Simon shouted at the same time. 

Before Alec could say anything Magnus came running to him and hugged him tightly. 

“Where the hell did you disappear to Alexander?” Magnus asked as he was hugging Alec.

“I thought you were not coming back till late…” Alec said.
