CHAPTER 09

Magnus pulled back from the hug and just stared plainly at Alec. "So you didn't answer our calls because I was coming back late?"

"What? What do you mean? My phone was on silence mode and I forgot to check my phone" Alec said in a n annoyed tone. "I just went to Uni to get some stuff"

"Since you are home big brother..." Izzy said interrupting the two boys "We'll get going...see you guys" she said and kissed Alec on the cheek and dragged Simon out of the house.

Alec sighed crossing his arms.

Magnus was still looking at Alec. "What is wrong with you Alexander?" he asked in a calmer voice.

"What is wrong with me? What is wrong with you Magnus Bane?" Alec asked back.

Magnus was surprised to see Alec's reaction; he hasn't seen Alec angry in a long time.

"I...I was worried sick that you didn't answer my calls, so I thought you were running a fever again..." Magnus sighed "I came to check on you Alexander! Now that you are fine, I'll quickly wrap up things at work and..." Magnus was cut in the middle

"WORK!" Alec shouted "Work is so important to you right Magnus? That's why you left me all alone for 3 whole months..." he said looking at Magnus "let's say that was unavoidable...but what about today? You could have stayed home...you could have talked with me...why did you go to work? I waited for you for 3 whole months and once you come you shout at me and then leave for work?" Alec was furious.

"Alexander calm down please...I was wrong...I know I was wrong to shout at you without knowing anything...I'm really sorry..."

Alec didn't utter a word. He turned his back towards Magnus.

"Alexander and you are important to me so much than work...you know that...With dad in this state, you know that I don't have a choice..." Magnus said walking to Alec "Please forgive me Alexander..." he said touching Alec's shoulder.

As soon as Magnus's hand touched Alec's shoulder he felt calmer, he was longing for this touch for a long time. He wanted to give in and hug Magnus and kiss him on the lips but he was too angry to give in. Taking a deep breath, he turned towards Magnus but he couldn't look him in the eye. "I'm going to get some rest" he said and walked into his room and closed the door behind him.

Magnus sighed and sat on the floor outside the room. "Alexander, I'm sorry..." he said.

But Alec didn't respond.

Right then he got a call from Hayley.

"Hayley I don't think I can make it back today...Can you ask Meliorn to wrap things up?"

"Yeah sure" she replied "Is Alec okay?"

"Yeah he's...he's fine" Magnus replied.

"That's a relief, I was worried...okay then see you at work" Hayley said.

"Uhm...Hayley, I have to stay at home tomorrow...can you postpone the meetings for me?"

"Okay Magnus but tomorrow's meeting is important"

"I know...but I don't think I can make it tomorrow...please explain it to them...tell them I had a personal emergency"

"Okay Magnus...I'll do something about it...don't worry...you take care of Alec"

"Thank you Hayley" Magnus said and kept the phone.

Then he walked back to the room door and stood in front of it. Magnus knew that his anger would subside in a while so he waited outside the door for almost one hour. Then he slowly opened the door and walked inside. Alec was fast asleep.

"You know I love you more than anything in this world Alexander...please forgive me" he said and kissed Alec on the forehead but Alec still didn't respond. He kept his eyes tightly shut.

"I'll make you dinner baby" Magnus said and walked to the kitchen.

Alec opened his eyes and sighed. "I love you too Mags, more than you can ever imagine"

After almost half an hour Magnus walked back into the room and Alec quickly closed his eyes.

"Alexander..." Magnus said in a soft voice "Baby dinner is ready...you can sleep again after you have dinner"

But Alec still kept his eyes closed and didn't dare to open them.

As Alec didn't respond Magnus put his hand on Alec's forehead and then back on his own to check if he was running a fever again.

Magnus felt relieved when he knew that both of them were having the same temperature. Then he slowly removed the locks of hair covering Alec's eyes and traced Alec's cheek with two fingers. "I missed you so much baby" he said in a low voice and bent over to kiss on Alec's temple.

Magnus sighed again and said "Sleep tight baby...I'll sleep in the other room"

Right when Magnus was going to leave the side of the bed, Alec quickly sat up and hugged Magnus tightly from the back. Alec couldn't stay angry at Magnus anymore.

Magnus was surprised and at the same time he was happy.
