Chapter 04

The next day, it was a Saturday so Alec was home. Early in the morning Alec woke up when he heard the doorbell.

Damn it. I never get to sleep in. Alec thought and walked to the door rubbing his eyes. 

“Helen!” Alec said surprised “What are you doing here so early in the morning?” he asked.

“I’m sorry Alec…did I wake you up?” she said with an apologetic look.

Alec shook his head. “Come in”

“You know the time difference is pretty hard for me, I need to get used to it…I was too bored to stay at the hotel, so I thought of coming here” 

“Yeah, can see that…it’s still 6.45 Helen” Alec said walking to the kitchen.

“I’m sorry Alec, I’ll just watch TV, you can go back to sleep” Helen said walking to the kitchen counter.

“That’s fine…I don’t think I can go back to sleep again” Alec said in an annoyed tone.

Alec was not his usual self with her, and he felt it himself but he didn’t know why. 

“Shall I help you fix something for breakfast?” Helen asked.

“NO it’s fine…” Alec said without looking at her.

“Okay then…” she said and went back to the living room.

The next few days passed by. Alec had to tag along with Helen to visit Asmodeus. But Alec quickly left saying that he had some work to take care at the office.

“Si what movie should we watch today?” Izzy asked when they came home to see Alec. It was a Friday and it was the day they got together to have some chill time.

“Whatever you want Izz” Simon said kissing her on her cheek.

“I’ll make the popcorn” Alec said and went to the kitchen.

Simon nodded and sat next to Izzy putting his arm around her shoulder. 

After a few minutes Alec returned with a bowl of popcorn and right when he was about to sit down someone knocked on the door.

“I’ll check” Simon said and went to the door.

Helen walked in and smiled at Izzy and Simon.

“Hi, I’m Helen, Magnus’s sister…Um step-sister” She said.

“Oh hey…I’ve heard a lot about you…I’m Izzy, Alec’s sister” Izzy said smiling. “This is Simon, the love of my life”

“Hi Helen…wanna watch the movie with us?” Simon asked.

“Sure!” She said excited and sat next to Izzy.

“Why are you here?” Alec asked suddenly.

“I…uh…I felt lonely at the hotel…so I came here” she said looking at Alec. 

Alec didn’t look at her, with a plain expression he stared at the TV.

“If I’m intruding…I’ll go back” she said.

“Now that you are here…just stay” Alec said trying not to be too rude.

“Big brother, that’s rude” Izzy leaned towards Alec and whispered. Alec rolled his eyes.

 After a few seconds Helen stood up.

“Alec…did I ever offend you by any chance? Why are you so annoyed?” Helen asked.

“I’m not annoyed” Alec said with a plain voice.

Izzy and Simon looked at each other.

“Then why are you acting this way? I noticed how you keep ignoring me for the past few days?” she said.

(PART 03)“I never ignored you Helen…don’t imagine things in your head” Alec said staring at her straight in the eyes. 

“I’m your fiancé’s sister…why are you treating me this way? I never wanted to trouble you or offend you Alec…” 

“I never said you did” Alec said in a loud voice now very annoyed. 

“Magsy wanted me to stay here with you without staying at a hotel…but the way you act with me made me feel bad about myself…so I couldn’t even make myself ask you about staying in this house.” She said with tears in her eyes. 

“I never told you not to ask me…what’s wrong with you?” Alec shouted.

“Hey big brother calm down okay? She did nothing wrong… You are just…” Izzy couldn’t finish her sentence.

“What’s going on here?” said a familiar voice.

All four of them turned to see Magnus standing at the door with his luggage.
