Chapter 03

“Uh… Helen, you want anything to eat?” he asked.

“Nope, I had some snacks on my way” she said still looking at her phone.

Alec sat on the single chair opposite to the couch where Helen was sitting, rather she was sleeping on it.

“So…Helen, does Magnus know that you are here?” Alec asked nervously. He didn’t know why he felt so nervous with her.

“No…no one knows I’m back…” she said.

The look in her eyes reminded Alec of Tyler, Alec gulped slowly not wanting to show his nervousness to Helen.

“Are you okay Alexander?” she asked noticing that Alec was uncomfortable.

“Alec…call me Alec…yes I’m fine” he said still smiling nervously.

“Alec…I know you must be feeling nervous to talk with me…and after what my brother did to you, I can imagine how angry you must feel…” she said “But don’t worry…” she said sitting up and looking directly at Alec “I’m nothing like my brother”.

Alec tried to smile “No I’m fine…” 

“I was thinking of going to see dad…will you tag along with me?” she asked standing.

“Yeah…yeah sure” he said. “Should we call Magnus and see?” Alec asked. He felt very awkward for some reason.

Helen nodded.

Alec tried to call Magnus several times but he didn’t answer. After few more tries finally Magnus answered the call.

“Finally, you answered…” Alec said when Magnus answered his call.

“Hmm…baby what is it?” Magnus said in a sleepy voice.

“Are you asleep? Sorry baby I’ll call you later” Alec said.

“No that’s okay…I’m awake now” Magnus said. 

“There’s someone you know that you’d love to see” Alec said

“Who is it?” Magnus asked still his eyes half open.

Then Alec turned the camera towards Helen. Helen without a word waved at Magnus.

“HELEN!! Is that you?” Magnus asked widening his eyes. 

“Hey Magsy…how are you?” she asked.

“Oh my God Helen, it’s so good to see you after months…I’m doing okay, but when did you come back?” Magnus asked. 

“Today…” she said.

“That’s great…I’ll be returning in a week or so…when are you going back?” Magnus asked.

“Going back? Do you want me to go back?” Helen asked annoyed.

“You are going to stay?” Magnus asked surprised.

“Don’t you want me to?” she asked.

“Of course you should stay…I missed you so much” Magnus said. “How’s your stay so far? Make yourself home”

“I just got back idiot…I only stayed here for like an hour…so far so good…and your boyfriend is so cute…I like him” she said.

“Fiancé” both Alec and Magnus said at the same time.

“Oh my God!!You guys got engaged?” Helen asked in surprise.

“Alexander show her the ring” Magnus said and Alec showed his hand to Helen.

“What? You didn’t even tell me Magsy…Congratulations guys” she said. “I can’t wait for you to get back, so we can celebrate”

Alec was enjoying the conversation between Magnus and Helen. He felt so happy that Magnus was able to talk to his sister after a long time.

“Guys y’all talk…I’ll fix something for lunch” he said and went to the kitchen.

Magnus and Helen continued their conversation. They argued, laughed and teased each other. Listening to them talking made Alec smile.
