Chapter 05

“What’s going on here?” Magnus asked.

Alec and Helen both froze and were lost for words. All four of them were panicking.

Magnus walked into the living room and saw Helen with tears in her eyes. 

Helen quickly wiped off her tears when she saw Magnus approach her. 

“Helen are you crying?” Magnus asked touching her cheek and lifting her head up to meet his eyes. 

“Mags when did you come back?” Alec asked surprised and shocked to see him. 

“Few hours ago…I was going to surprise you, but I was the one who got surprised…” Magnus said wiping off the tear from Helen’s cheek.

“What did you tell her Alexander? Why is she crying?” Magnus asked in a very demanding voice.

“I…uh…I didn’t…” Alec couldn’t finish his sentence.

“Alexander, I thought that you would look after her, but you made her cry? And why is she not staying here?” Magnus asked. “Why are you not staying here Helen?” he asked turning to his sister.

Helen couldn’t answer. 

“I never thought that you would treat her this way Alexander!” Magnus said in a louder voice.

“It’s not what you think” Helen tried to speak but Magnus silenced her. 

“Stop Helen…I heard the conversation…” Magnus said and looked at Alec, his eyes were roaring with anger.

“Let’s go…You can stay at my apartment” Magnus said grabbing her hand.

“Magnus” Alec shouted “What the hell is wrong with you?” 

“What the hell is wrong with me?” Magnus asked his eyes burning with anger “Is this how you treat my sister Alexander? I thought you would treat her as you treat Izzy…but no”

“Magnus you got it wrong…I was not…” Alec couldn’t finish his sentence.

“Enough…” he shouted “I’ll take her to my apartment” Magnus said and dragged her to the door. 

“I was waiting for 3 whole months for this??? You don’t even know what happened Magnus!!” Alec shouted with anger tears rolling down his cheeks. “I F*CKING HATE YOU MAGNUS BANE” Alec shouted and dashed into his room banging the door behind him. 

Magnus didn’t turn back and left with his sister.

“This is not good…not good at all” Simon said looking at Izzy.

“I know…” Izzy sighed touching her forehead. “I’ll check on Alec; can you try calling Magnus?”

Simon nodded.

“Alec…big brother…” Izzy said knocking on the door. But there was no answer… “I’m coming in” she said and opened the door.

Alec was sitting in the corner of the room with his head between his knees, crying. 

“Hey” Izzy said placing her hand on Alec’s shoulder.

“I hate him Izzy…I f*cking hate him” Alec said crying.

“Hey, it’s okay…it’s okay” Izzy said sitting beside him and taking his head on her shoulder. “it’s a misunderstanding Alec…he’ll understand that you did nothing wrong”

“I f*cking waited for him for 3 months and this is what I get when he finally comes back?” Alec said hugging Izzy and crying.

Izzy tried to comfort him but he didn’t stop crying. After almost one hour, finally he stopped crying and wiped his eyes.

Izzy patted his head and still comforted him. 

“I missed him so much Izz…” Alec said still resting his head on Izzy’s shoulder.

“I know big brother…I know…and I’m pretty sure Magnus knows it too…don’t worry he’ll come around” 

“Hmm…” Alec sighed.

“You should get some rest now…it’s almost 10pm” Izzy said

Alec nodded and sat on the bed.

Izzy slowly closed the door and went outside.

“Magnus let go of my hand” Helen pulled her hand from Magnus’s grip “Why the hell did you do that?” she shouted.

“What did I do?” Magnus asked getting inside the car.

“Why did you shout at Alec?” she asked as she sat on the passenger seat.

“Didn’t you see how he talked to you…he was wrong to shout at you like that” Magnus said.

Helen rolled her eyes. “Stop the car” she said but Magnus didn’t listen to her “I said STOP THE CAR!” she shouted.

Magnus was confused and he stopped the car. “What?” he asked.

“You shouldn’t have talked to him that way…” Helen said. “He didn’t do anything wrong”

“What do you mean he didn’t do anything wrong?” he asked confused.

“Listen Magsy…he treated me really well okay? He even took me to visit dad, he cooked for me…he didn’t treat me in a bad way” she said.

“Then what was going on?” Magnus asked.

“Even if he treated me well…he never looked at me straight in the eyes, he kept ignoring when I tried to talk to me, I wanted to be friendly…but he didn’t want to…he kept his distance from me…and now I understand that I can’t completely blame him…I think I look too much like my brother…and what happened today was my fault…” she sighed.

“What? Why didn’t you tell me that?” Magnus asked.

“What the hell Magsy? We weren’t able to explain anything…you dragged me out…” she said annoyed. “You better go make up with Alec…he was waiting for you everyday”

“Oh no what did I do?” he sighed covering his face with his hands.

“You better go now” she said.

“I’ll drop you off” Magnus said.

“I’m not a baby…I can go alone” she said opening the car door and then walked away from the car.
