As Lucy had gotten ready for school the next morning, she couldn't help but admire herself in the bathroom mirror. After school, and after she had walked away from Scott and Stiles, she had gone to get her hair cut. It hadn't been a heat of the moment decision; she really had been thinking about it. Her hair had been getting long, really long, and it was getting exhausting having to spend hours fixing it every day.

She had gotten a good amount cut off, but her hair still reached her collarbone. But it felt lighter and was much easier to maintain, which brought a smile to Lucy's face.

Allison and Lydia, who had thankfully been found that night by Sheriff Stilinski and Stiles, had no idea about the change until she had gotten out of her car. And as soon as she got the text from Stiles that said her friend was okay, Lucy called Lydia immediately to check on her.

"You really don't remember anything?" Allison asked, looking around Lucy, who was walking in the middle, to see Lydia.

"They called it a fugue state, which is basically a way of saying, 'We have no idea why you can't remember running through the woods naked for two days.' But personally, I don't care. I lost nine pounds." Lydia shrugged, earning small giggles from her friends.

"Are you ready for this?" Lucy asked Lydia. "You were just found last night."

Lydia smiled softly. "You were hurt that night too."

"Not as much as you were. And I didn't lose two days worth of memories." Lucy reminded her.

"I'm okay, Luce. I'm ready to go back to school." Lydia assured her friends, moving to stand in the middle. She linked her arms with theirs and marched through the doors. At the click of Lydia's heels on the ground, everyone turned to look at them. Every pair of eyes were trained towards the girls, more specifically, Lydia.

"Maybe it's the nine pounds?" Allison suggested under her breath.

Lydia swallowed thickly before she smirked at her friends. "Maybe it is. Or maybe they're admiring our friend's new hair."

Lucy smiled, watching as Lydia lifted her chin and walked through the crowd with confidence. Lydia had always been confident, but Lucy was beyond proud and happy to see her friend like this after everything they had been through.

"Who?" Lucy asked, sitting behind Stiles who was sitting to the left of Scott. Their classroom was buzzing with chatter as soon as Mr. Harris excused himself to the restroom.

"Isaac Lahey." Scott repeated. "We've been going to school with him for years."

"Still don't know him." Lucy shrugged, leaning forward on her desk.

"Lacrosse player, number 14, brown hair, blue eyes, really frickin' tall." Stiles rattled off details about the boy.

Lucy's eyes widened slightly as she figured out who Isaac Lahey was. She'd had a huge crush on him freshman year, but he was nothing more than a hallway crush and she hadn't even known his name when she liked him. Although, his name did sound familiar now.

"Wait," Stiles sat up, "Why are you blushing?"

"I'm not." Lucy hissed, leaning back in her seat as she crossed her arms.

"Is he your crush?" Scott asked, listening to her heart race. "He is, isn't he?"

Lucy sighed. Lying to a werewolf would get her nowhere. "I used to like him. Last year. But it was nothing, I just thought he was hot, I didn't even know his name!"

"So, who's your crush now?" Stiles asked, glancing at Scott.

"No one! Can we please talk about something else." Lucy glanced out the window, her frustration with the boys rising.

"Yeah, sorry." Scott said quietly. "So, why would Derek choose Isaac?"

"Peter told me that if the bite doesn't turn you, it could kill you." Stiles gnawed on his pen until he slammed it into the table. He ran his hands over his head, leaving them at the back of his neck. "Maybe teenagers just have a better chance of surviving."

"Doesn't being a teenager mean your Dad can't hold him?" Scott asked, thinking back to the fact that Isaac would be in a cell during the full moon.

"Does he really think Isaac killed his father?" Lucy frowned, thinking of how shy and quiet Isaac seemed.

"He doesn't have solid evidence, which he'd need to hold him overnight. Or a witness." Stiles explained, his eyes widening. "Wait. Danny." He whispered to the boy in front of him. "Where's Jackson?"

"In the principal's office talking to your Dad." Danny replied, receiving a chorus of 'whys' from the trio. "Maybe because he lives across the street from Isaac?"

"He's a witness." Lucy mumbled as Mr. Harris walked back in, taking a stand at the chalkboard.

"We gotta get to the principal's office." Stiles looked around the room, searching for an escape.

"Are you coming, Luce?" Scott whispered. Technically, she wasn't supposed to get too involved with the supernatural. When she found out the truth, Scott had made sure that she would always be kept in the loop as long as she stayed out of it. But now, given everything that had happened since the dance, he wasn't sure where her stance was on that deal.

"Not this time. I don't want to break my perfect behavior." She smiled tightly.

Scott nodded in understanding as Stiles scrunched up a piece of paper. He launched it at the back of Mr. Harris' head, making the strict teacher turn around. "Who in the hell did that?" He snapped. Stiles and Scott both pointed at each other, earning them a trip to the principal's office.

Lucy had told Scott, "Not this time." And she had made it clear after school was out that she wanted to be more involved in the supernatural. Not all of the time, but she didn't want to be left in the dark ever again. So, here she was, with Stiles as he drove down the streets at an alarming speed.

"Hey, did you slow him down?" Stiles asked into his phone. Allison's job had been to slow down the hunter, who had been sent by her father to kill Isaac. Stiles and Lucy's job was to pick up Derek and drive to the sheriff's station to break Isaac out.

"You could say that," Allison's voice came through the phone.

"All right, well, uh, we're headed to the station right now. Right after we stop and get Derek who is with Scott at Isaac's." Stiles explained, picking up the speed.

"Does he have a plan?" Allison asked, her tone laced with worry. Lucy and Stiles made eye contact, neither of them enthusiastic about the McCall's plan.

"Yeah, but not a very good one. And unfortunately, we don't really have time to come up with anything better." Stiles hung up his phone, laying it back down on the seat in between the two teens. They had barely spoken to each other; both being overcome with stress and worry. Derek seemed to be the same way, the Hale also staying quiet on the ride towards the station.

The three of them were silent until Stiles pulled into the parking lot, when he turned to the werewolf in the backseat and said, "Okay, now the keys to every cell are in a password protected lockbox in my father's office. The problem is getting past the front desk." Stiles explained, drumming his fingers on his steering wheel.

"How are we going to do that?" Lucy spoke up, glancing at Derek over her shoulder.

"I'll distract her."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, you? You're not going in there." Stiles said with a panicked tone.

"I was exonerated."

"You're still a person of interest." He corrected, holding out his finger, before pulling it back away in fear of it being bitten off.

"An innocent person."

"An innoc- you? Yeah, right!" Stiles scoffed under his breath. Lucy raised an eyebrow, watching the two argue in silence. "Okay, fine. What's your plan?"

"To distract her." Derek said plainly, making a clearly unimpressed Stiles sigh.

"How do you plan on doing that? By punching her in the face?"

"By talking to her."

Stiles scoffed again, giving Lucy an unimpressed look. The brunette only shrugged her shoulders, having a feeling that Derek's charm might work. Seeing that the girl was siding with the wolf, Stiles shook his head repeatedly. "No, no, it's not going to work."

"It might." Lucy said, looking at the female deputy through the window.

"See? She agrees with me. Let's go." Derek made a move to open the door.

"Wait, hang on, okay. Give us a sample first. What are you gonna open with?" Stiles asked, encouraging Derek to flirt with him. Derek said nothing. "Dead silence. That should work beautifully. Any other ideas?" The sheriff's son sassed.

"I'm thinking about punching you in the face." Derek snapped, climbing out of the car and heading inside.

Stiles scoffed, yet again. "I cannot believe him."

Lucy shrugged. "I can. Come on, let's go." She jumped out of the jeep, followed by Stiles. The two headed inside, maneuvering their way over to the door past the desk where Derek was shamelessly flirting with the deputy.

Weaving their way through the corridors. Lucy turned a corner, still in front of Stiles and bumped into a cop. She gasped in fright, not expecting someone to be standing, well limping, right there. Stiles, who had spotted the silver arrowhead lodged into his leg, took a protective step in front of Lucy, keeping her behind him.

"Go," he whispered, moving to push her away when the hunter grabbed both of them tightly. He began dragging them down the hallway, keeping his hands over their mouths. The hunter, clearly more experienced, was able to successfully dodge the teens' blind punches.

Desperately reaching for things to slow the hunter down, Stiles pulled the fire alarm. Flashing red lights and sirens rang through the building, causing Lucy's ears to ring.

Entering the holding cell section, the hunter threw the disorientated teens to the floor, watching as they tried to stand up. Once they got to their feet, all three of them began eyeing the room in search for Isaac Lahey. All they found was a door torn off its hinges, meaning the beta was surely long gone.

Lucy turned around and jumped, seeing Isaac standing in the corner, his eyes a golden yellow. He leapt forward, clawing the hunter and shoving him against the wall, blocking his punches and forcing him to release the syringe. As soon as it hit the ground, Derek stepped forward and stamped down onto it. The glass shattered and the contents splashed across the floor.

Still angry, which was only heightened by the full moon, Isaac turned to Lucy and Stiles. Derek jumped in front of the teens as Stiles wrapped his arms around Lucy, shielding her from the werewolves. Letting out a roar, Derek watched with satisfaction as Isaac's eyes changed from bloodthirsty to puppy dog as he cowered against the wall.

"How did you do that?" Stiles asked, sighing in relief as he loosened his hold on the girl in his arms.

"I'm the Alpha," Derek smirked, grabbing Isaac and leaving the station, protecting the secret of the supernatural just in time before Sheriff Stilinski walked in armed.
