Lucy stayed on the ground with her back against the wall. Her tears had slowed down and she had marks in her arms from her nails digging into her skin. Her eyes were heavy, and her cheeks had dried tears stained on to them.

Derek Hale, the man her brother had been with was the one trying to kill them. Derek Hale, the man who raised her suspicions about everything.

"Call the cops." Jackson ordered, staring at Stiles and Scott.

"No."

Lucy looked at Stiles, her heart racing. No?

"What do you mean, 'no'?" Jackson sputtered, walking towards Stiles. Lucy looked down and ran her fingers through her hair. This wasn't happening, right? It's all just another fucked up dream.

"I mean no. You wanna hear it in Spanish? Noh." Stiles sassed, causing Jackson to frown. Lucy's nails started to dig into her arms again, her heart rate continuing to increase.

"I speak English just fine, smartass." Jackson glared at him, balling his fingers into a fist at his side.

"Look," Stiles continued, "Derek killed three people, okay? We don't know what he's armed with."

"Stiles!" Lucy shouted, losing her composure. "Your dad is the sheriff!"

"Exactly. Your dad is armed with an entire Sheriff's department. Call him." Jackson spat, waving his arm around.

"You know what?" Lucy mumbled, fumbling for her phone with shaky hands. "Fuck this."

Her words reached Scott's ears, and he turned around sharply. "Hey, Luce wait-"

"Yes, we're at Beacon Hills high school. We're trapped and we need you to-" The words flew out of Lucy's mouth. She was surprised the operator was able to understand her, but her heart sank when she heard the reply. "But wait! Please!"

Lucy's heart and mind broke, her phone slipping through her hands as she sobbed again.

"Did the police just hang up on you?" Jackson asked, taking a few short steps towards the distraught girl. Allison was quicker, taking a seat next to her friend and rubbing her arm gently.

Lucy nodded, leaning into Allison. "They got a tip warning them that they might get prank calls about a break-in at the school." She gulped, Allison whispering, 'it's okay.' It wasn't okay, though. None of this was. "If we call again, they're gonna trace it and arrest us."

"Okay, so we call them again." Allison shrugged, picking up Lucy's phone.

"No, they won't trace your cell." Stiles spoke up. "They'll send a car to your house before they send anyone here."

"Is he the one that sent them those texts?" Lydia asked. "Derek. Did he do it?"

"No. I mean, I don't know-" Scott stuttered.

"-Is he the one that called the police?" Lydia continued.

"I don't know!"

"Okay, take it easy, yeah?" Stiles pulled Scott to the side, both boys whispering where the others couldn't hear them.

"They know something that we don't." Lucy whispered, harshly rubbing away her tears as she sniffled.

"You think so?" Jackson asked.

Lucy rolled her eyes. "Just look at them!" She whisper-shouted, pointing to the boys.

"Alright." Jackson nodded. "That's it. Okay assheads. New plan. Stiles calls his useless dad and tells him to send someone with a gun and decent aim. Are we good with that?"

Scott turned to Stiles and whispered something. As soon as Stiles replied, also with his voice low, Jackson stepped forward.

"All right, give me the phone." He argued, grabbing Stiles' shoulder. Before Jackson reached the phone, Stiles whipped around and landed a punch to his jaw.

The three girls gasped, Lydia running to check on her boyfriend.

"What the hell is wrong with you both? Call him!" Lucy screamed.

Scott and Stiles turned to her, the McCall boy nodding his head in agreement.

"Dad, hey, it's me," Stiles spoke, mouthing the words 'voicemail' to the others in the room. "Look, I need you to call me back now. Like, right now." There was a loud bang from outside, causing Lucy to jump. "We're at the school. Dad, we're at the school."

"We need to go somewhere else." Allison said, everyone besides Stiles and Scott nodding agreement.

"The kitchen, the door out of the kitchen leads to the stairwell." Stiles stated calmly, looking to Scott.

"Which only goes up."

"Up is better than here." Following Stiles, everyone made their way to the back of the room and pushed open the door to the kitchen. Finding the door to the stairwell, the group rushed up the stairs and down the hallway. They filed into a science lab, stacking chairs against the door just like before.

"Jackson, how many people can fit in your car?" Scott asked.

"Five, if someone squeezes on someone's lap."

"Five? I barely fit in the back." Allison scoffed.

"I drove separately; I can fit five in my car. Comfortably." Lucy added.

"It doesn't matter. There's no getting out without drawing attention." Stiles sighed.

"What about this? This leads to the roof. We can go down the fire escape to the parking lot in seconds." Scott cautiously looked out the window.

"That's a deadbolt." Stiles pointed out.

"The janitor has a key."

"You mean his body has it." Stiles corrected.

"I can get it." Scott lowered his voice again, saying something only his best friend could hear.

"Well, gee, that sounds like an incredibly terrible idea. What else you got?"

"I'm getting the key."

"Wait, Scott, you can't go out there. What if Derek finds you?" Lucy asked, walking closer to her brother.

"I'll be fine. I'll take something with me to protect myself." He reassured her.

"Why does it have to be you?" Lucy's voice shook as she stood in front of her brother, a tear rolling down her cheek. Scott pulled her into a hug, his sister wrapping her arms around him tightly.

He glanced at Stiles, sighing before pulling away. "It was my idea to come here. I brought Stiles here because I thought it would be fun to break into the school. To be rebellious. I didn't know Derek was going to be here, but it's my fault that we're all in this situation. I don't know who sent the messages, but they made it look like they came from me. So, I'm the one who has to go."

"Scott... please don't. It's not your fault. It was just a mistake."

Scott took a step back, closer to the door.

"Wait." Lydia spoke up. "I'll make a Molotov cocktail. It's self-igniting, so just throw it at Derek if you see him."

Scott nodded. "Thanks."

While the strawberry blonde got to work making the cocktail with Jackson's help, Allison dragged Scott to the side. Whilst they had their heart-to-heart, Lucy folded her arms over her chest and looked at Stiles.

"You're just going to let him go?"

Stiles sighed. "It's not like I want him too, but it's his decision."

Lucy scoffed, turning her face away from him. "Some friend you are."

Before Stiles could respond, Lydia handed the glass bottle to Scott. Allison pleaded with her boyfriend one last time, but Scott sticked to his decision and walked out the door.

Then he was gone.

Lucy found her back against a wall again. She was too nervous to sit down, but too tired to pace back and forth like Allison was. So, she decided to lean against the cold wall, shivering from time to time.

Allison scolded Jackson for letting Scott leave, making sure to keep her voice down.

Lydia stayed near the table where she had made the cocktail, lightly drumming her fingers along the table as she pursed her lips.

Stiles stood in the middle of the room, deep in thought. When he snapped out of it and looked up, he looked at Lucy as she shivered again. The brunette had her arms wrapped around herself, but her t-shirt did nearly nothing to warm her.

She looked up when she heard footsteps, looking away again when she saw it was Stiles.

"Here." He said quietly, wrapping his jacket around her shoulders. Lucy looked at him again, a little confused, as he leaned against the wall next to her. He caught her look and smiled halfheartedly. "You were shivering. Usually means you're cold."

Lucy held back a laugh. How could he still be so sarcastic during a time like this? She slipped her arms through the sleeves, wrapping the jacket around her body. It was slightly too big for her, but she liked it. She smiled softly as she stared at the ground. Maybe he wasn't so bad for letting Scott leave.

She bit her lip, looking back at Stiles. "Sorry."

"For what?" He asked gently, his voice sending butterflies into her stomach.

"For what I said earlier. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said it."

Stiles put his hands in his pants pockets. "It's okay. You're angry. I get it."

"I shouldn't have taken it out on you though."

"Please," Stiles chuckled, "I'm the one you're mad at."

"Was."

"Huh?"

Lucy smiled. "You're the one I was mad at."

Stiles nodded in understanding. Lucy rested her head on his shoulder, her head feeling heavy.

"Do you think he's okay?"

"He'll be fine. He's got the cocktail if he needs it."

As the words left Stiles' mouth, the door locked. The others ran to it, calling out for Scott. Lucy lifted her head, but didn't step away from Stiles.

"That bastard!" Jackson shouted, hitting the door. They stood in silence for a moment, everyone having a hard time that Scott had locked them in there. That he had left them for dead.

"Maybe he was just protecting us? From Derek?" Lucy offered meekly, having a hard time believing that her brother had ill intentions. "Maybe he didn't trust us to stay in here until he got the key?"

Jackson and Lydia just scoffed at her words.

The group fell into silence again until the police arrived, unlocking the door and letting them out.

"You sure it was Derek Hale?" Sheriff Stilinski asked the two boys as they exited the school. Lucy was a few steps ahead of them, eager for fresh air.

When the questioning was over and no one could find Derek Hale, Lucy walked back over to Stiles.

"I thought you drove here?" He asked, about to get into his dad's car.

"I did. I wanted to give this back." She handed him his folded jacket.

"Oh. Thanks."

Lucy nodded, walking back over to her car. In the back of her mind, she hoped Stiles would call for her, to tell her to keep the jacket. But he never did.

So, she and Scott got into her car. They drove home in silence, Scott heartbroken that Allison had left him, and Lucy confused about her feelings and the events that had occurred that night.
