Feelings

Keifer's POV

Jay is behaving a little differently, what's wrong with her, what did I do that she's mad at me and not even talking. It really hurts; I hate when she avoids me. What could be the reason, and I just dressed myself in casuals and picked up my bag, "and these things,  chocolate and bracelet are giving me a headache, I don't even know when that girl kept it in my bag". 

As soon as I entered class, I wanted to be with her but she's with that boy, I really want to break his face, for the sake of humanity he's alive. It's not enough... this girl Kerry is pestering me, before I could react, she dragged me with herself. After the lectures Jay left with Ben and I followed her, behind the gate of the training room, I was looking at her and remembering our memories of when we used to practice together. 

She is wonderful as she was, a perfect girl who can knock off anyone. I want to become the same Keifer you used to love Jay, I wish I could really fill up the distance between us , and someone patted on my shoulder, "what do you want?", it's Ben. I smiled, "none of your business". 

Ben came closer to me, "why are you following her?", I raised my brows and ignored him and moved away but he stopped me, keeping hands on my shoulder, "I don't know what your story is, but in the present maybe I'm the one who can keep her more happy", he locked his eyes with mine, "I can protect her". 

I simply removed his hands, "she doesn't need protection, you don't even know her properly and thinking of keeping her happy. Well, Jay is not like some common girl.. She's special and importantly most special to me". 

The anticipation was clear on his face, he tried countering "I know she's really different, so do you think you deserve her? Really? I guess she is worthy of a King, not an ordinary guitarist", he smirked, "temporary sensation of social media, but I'll be permanent in her life". 

I fold my fists, he really doesn't know that he's challenging Watson, and the man Jay always addressed as King, but this time I'm really nothing but I know I'll become one, I'm building up one by myself. I didn't want to argue and left the place as I didn't want to distract Jay while practicing. 

The Class Rep informed me about a class meeting near the garden, though I was not interested but I wanted to see Jay, so I went there, she's with Ben. The meet was informal and about upcoming college events. And suddenly someone teased Jay and Ben, they're shipping them. 

I just want to shut off every mouth who were connecting them together, "we're together", Jay said, it literally broke me, I know she's not into him but why is she doing this. Cause I know if she genuinely was with him, there won't be any frustration, but she's not happy at all. 

Why the hell this Kerry is clinging to me even calling baby, Jay stood up to leave Ik she's already mad at me and I'm not sure but maybe because of her she's more angry, I remove kerry's hand "excuse me, I've a name, it's Keifer, it'll better if you say that only otherwise don't approach me". I shrugged off her hand and followed Jay. 

She turned towards me, "have fun with your new girlfriend",  she taunted me, is she really jealous, her face red though, she cares about this thing, "the bracelet was really beautiful", she said and left. Wait, she saw that, fuck I got it the reason she's mad at me, shit..I mean she still likes me. 

I held her hand, "she's not my girlfriend", i clarified, "maybe you've a misunderstanding". She jerked my hand, "whatever, I don't care and now I've someone else".

Someone else? Really Jay, I clearly saw your annoyed face when he's close, when those students were teasing, you're not blushing unlike you used to when we're together. 

I remember her excitement and happiness when we came into the relationship. She was the one who wanted to hide but her happy heart forced her lips and she screamed out loud that we're in love. 

*Flashback* 

The inauguration of the annual sports day was done enthusiastically, multiple games were arranged. It all started with a volleyball match, David was into the team, the fight was really one- sided and HVIS secured the victory. Jay hugged David and Ci-N joined in, and then the whole section E. 

The other game was Basket ball, Aries was leading the team, already playing five were selected, Felix was not included, "I knew it, they'll do this to me". Jay consoles him, "hey Felix, come on you're in for next quarter", it's Keifer who said by looking at me. I rolled my eyes, he winked. 

Next quarter started, Keifer was resting as Felix joined, he sat near Jay "you're lethargic", Jay taunted and he clenched his jaws, "really?". She folds her hands to the chest, "yes, even if you did nothing in the first quarter, still took a break". 

He moved closer, "I did it to make Felix join and...", she rubs his shoulder, "just making excuses, our team is struggling". He sighed, "now just watch", and as the quarter finished, HVIS was behind. 

Keifer got up, "I'm in", Mykel was tired, "yes please", Jay saw Keifer from the corner of her eyes, and he raised his brows & gestures with fingers to make her see him properly, "HVIS will win & I'll be the player of game, and reward will be yours". 

The game started with a whistle, Keifer took the lead and turned the game into HVIS side, Jay was suppressing her smile but in the final round, it's a tie breaker. Keifer was dribbling the ball, opponents ready around him to snatch it. 

The hall became silent for a moment, his eyes went on Jay who was staring at him, he smiled, "for you", he whispered, and Jay realised what he said , and did a direct throw into the basket, "and HVIS is the winner", the anchor announced. 

Everyone picks Keifer, but he's still looking at Jay-Jay, she's smiling but ignoring the eye contact, "he said for you, do I like him, am I falling for this man", she shook her head, "no.. no calm down Jay, you can't fall". 

Aries was noticing it, and he went near Keifer, "what did you say before throwing the ball", he nods, "nothing, just a magic spell". 

It's time for Gun shoot, there were more contestants from other schools, Yuri & Jay from HVIS but it's an individual game. She defeats everyone, a loud cheer in the crowd for Jay, "wohoo first time a girl won this game". 

Ci-n commented, "she's not a girl though", she smacked hard on his head, "ouch", he groaned, "this is the reason I said this". Keifer smirked, "this kid is not wrong", he too received a punch in his stomach. 

Aries hugs her tightly, "finally after suffering for long, she's smiling and happy. The pain she'd gone through was too much but now she's healing", he thought. Section E hugs her as well, even Yuri did, "I'm really sad on being defeated but tbh I'm happy for you Jay", he ruffled her hairs. 

Keifer came in between, elbowing Yuri "I told you na.. you can do this", she nodded and gave a brief hug to him. 

The day was wrapped up with a celebration and prize distribution ceremony. Jay got a call, "what? singing competition?". Keifer was standing in front of her with the medal, "for you", she took it, "congratulations". He kept standing, "I expected some more enthusiasm". she turned, "actually I've been selected for singing competition".

He asked, "when did you participate", she explained that it's Rio who sent her recording of video in and she's been shortlisted, "I've to go Makati and Rio is coming there as well'. 

As the singing competition was in another city, Aries was going with her, and Keifer planning to join her somehow, "what should I do to go Makati with her", he was roaming in his verandah, "and after knowing that Rio is going to meet her there, how come I'm not supposed to go".

Jay saw Keifer being restless and entered his home, he didn't see her and strikes into her, "hoyee, are you blind?", he was holding her by waist, she tried to get free, but he's not leaving her, "leave me you jerk". He tightens his grip, "it's rare you address me normally and almost cursing". she rolled her eyes, "so you want to put fucking tariffs on my cursing, like you don't curse".

He smirked, "you're so stubborn, but I'm asking you to be gentle". She pushed him, "and why? trying edifying me, but I'll say whatever don't behave like a fucking dictator" he again took her into the grip, hand wrapped around her waist and face inches away, "I'm telling you, if you use profanity one more time, I'll kiss you", she tried speaking but he puts finger on her lips, "you're blushing", he rubs back of his hand on her cheeks, "yes you're". 

She bit her lips, and he too folds them, both of them too close to feel each other's breath, and her phone rang so she backed off immediately, "yes Rio, I've done my packing, excited to see you again", she left while talking. "will see you Rio", he said while clenching his jaws.

Jay and Aries preparing to head towards Makati and Keifer too sits in the car, "what's up dude?", Aries asked, he sighed, "I just want her to see her lose", and he risked to say this to receive a headshot from Jay.

Keifer groaned, "can you behave like a normal girl, you asked me to come". Jay pulls his hairs, "just because I won't be third wheeling him and Ella", Keifer mimics her. Aries laughs, "you guys really fight like middle schoolers", Ella too joins them. 

Jay fell asleep, and Keifer looked at her and adored her, slightly pushed her head to place it on his shoulder, "I'm feeling something, like I'm falling. Jay I've feelings for you and this is more than mere attraction", he thought.

Aries looks at it from mirror, "what's going on? is he falling for her but already Jay has too much to handle and Keifer's life is miserable, I can't let Jay suffer with him, I've to do something". 

Jay got ready for her performance, 'Why is Rio not here yet? damn it's getting late", Aries calms her down, "he'll come", and Jay's phone buzzed, "sorry Jay, I'm really stuck, I can't make it", it's Rio's text.

She throws away her phone, "why did he make the commitment then', she was about to remove her accessories, but Keifer stops her, "you're going to perform".

She sighed, "how, it's a duet round, and I don't have a partner", he held her hands, "I'm, I'll perform with you", he took the Guitar, "we'll perform". Jay looks at him, "are you sure".

He winks, "as sure as you're winning the trophy", he took the paper in which lyrics were written, "I'll learn them asap, and perform it". They started rehearsal, he's really fast and the time for their performance.

Keifer held Jay's hand, "let's go", and they get on the stage, Jay starts singing,

"It's been a while, I saw you, can I stare more", her eyes met with Keifer, and smiled widened, eyes sparkled as he pulled the Guitar strings, "I wanna get lost into your eyes, and I'm so sure".

He looked at her while playing the Guitar, "why would I mind, just come closer and closer", he moved towards her, "hold my hands and stay forever", and they both sang together, "it's only love, love and love between us", and they continued singing.

Jay was humming, it's Keifer's part but he seems to forget the lyrics, he fumbled for a moment, she moved closer, "and...', he closed his eyes for a moment, 'and when I woke up, I found you beside me, it's sweetest dream I saw", he held Jay's hand, "or maybe the reality, I always wanna live with you', he spun her, "cause you're Miss universe of my life", he took a pause, "Oh my Minamahal... it's always you".

They both lost in the moment, their eyes met, "this was not the lyrics I wrote, does he made it by his own",

he pulled her closer from the waist, "Oh my Minamahal...", Jay sings as well, "Oh my Minamahal...", they both sang together, "it's only love, love and love between us".

Jay and Keifer kept looking at each other, without blinking their eyes, but got startled when the audience clapped and hooted. They shifted their gazes towards the judges, greeted them and got off the stage.
