Chocolate Cake

Ed's POV

I couldn't believe it. Louise was my new roommate. We were going to be living IN THE SAME FUCKING APARTMENT! Was I excited? Hells freaking yeah!

Calm down, Ed. Calm the heck down!

"Settled?" I asked.

"Yep. Everything is unpacked. I have officially moved in." She smiled.

"I feel like we should do something. You know, like an official welcoming?"

"What've you got in mind?" She asked.

"Let's throw a party!" I suddenly said but then thought about my lack of money. "Okay, maybe not that."

"Agreed." She laughed.

"What about we go to a theme park?!" I beamed and once again realised I was broke. "Crap, why am I so poor? I can't afford anything."

"Looks like we're in the same boat there." Louise replied.

"What about..."

"A movie marathon!" Louise suggested.

"I have like no films whatsoever." I confessed.

"Well you're in luck. I have 3 films." Louise grinned.

"Cool, which ones?"

"Shrek, Shrek 2... and Shrek the Third." She smirked.

"Seriously?" I laughed.

"Don't tell me you don't like Shrek." She went all serious.

"I LOVE SHREK!" I told her.

"Oh my gosh, this is going to be awesome!" She said.

"You go get the films, I'll make the popcorn." I said.

"Alright." She smiled and scurried upstairs.

The movie was almost over. We were at the part where Shrek had burst through the church at Fiona and Lord Farquad's weddings.

I was sat at the end of the sofa aimlessly playing with Louise's hair. She lay legs outstretched on the rest of the sofa, a huge blanket covering her whole body, her back resting against my side.

A smile was plastered on her face as Shrek kissed Fiona. True loves kiss.

"Do you believe in true love?" She asked me, eyes still on the TV.

"What d'ya mean?"

"Like there's someone out there for everyone."

"I guess so. I mean, everyone gets married don't they?" I said.

"Yeah, I guess so. What about fate? Do you believe in fate?" She questioned.

"Do you?"

"I think so... I mean out of everyone in the whole wide world, what are the chances of you meeting that one special person? But fate guides you towards them. Everything that happens, happens for a reason."

"Like me meeting you?" I asked.

"What?"

"Fate. I met you at Harry's house, then the restaurant, and then at Camp. What are the chances? Do you think me meeting you is fate?" I asked.

"Well, yeah I guess so." She admitted. "If we didn't meet each other, we would both be homeless. But fate made sure we did."

"Oh yeah." I realised.

The ending song began and Louise stood up going over to the DVD player. The film stopped and I watched as she pressed the eject button... numerous times.

"It's jammed!" She sat down crossed legged in front of the DVD player.

"Oh, it for that sometimes." I stood up and went to sit next to her.

"Ed I swear, if Shrek gets stuck in their for ever I'm gonna-" She began.

"Relax." I laughed as I smoothly worked my magic on the DVD player and the CD slid out. I held it in my hand. "It's fine."

"Thanks." She took it off my and safely put it back in its case.

"Do you have like an emotional attachment to Shrek or something?"

"Hey, Shrek is love, Shrek is life." She smirked and I just shook my head in disbelief with a huge grin plastered on my face.

"You hungry?" I asked.

"Starving!"

"So am I! I'll see what I've got in." I began to walk towards the kitchen.

"Not a lot." She told me. "I already checked."

"Great." I sarcastically said, stopping in my tracks to the kitchen. "I'm broke. I spent all my money on rent." And on our date to the restaurant, but I wasn't going to say that. I didn't care too much for money.

"I have £3. We could share a takeaway or something?" She suggested.

"I have a better idea." I smirked. "Harry's gone away for 2 days and he always has food... I also happen to have a key to his place."

"Ed!" She fake gasped. "You aren't suggesting that we go in to Harry's house and steal food!"

"That's exactly what I'm suggesting." I grinned.

"Good, coz he always has chocolate cake... and I want chocolate cake." She smiled which made me laugh.

"Let's go steal us some chocolate cake!"

Harry wouldn't mind. We were best friends and I was starving!

Louise's POV

Ed and I took off our shoes in the doorway to make sure we didn't get any mud on Harry's carpet. It was very muddy outside.

It felt weird being back here... the place I had lived in with Harry when we were supposedly in 'love'.

Love.

What is love? It seems to me that all love brings is heartache and misery. You always get your heart broken in the end... but then again... you do get free chocolate cake. Sometimes.

"This is the best!" I exclaimed whilst savoring the delicious taste of chocolate.

"Oh my gosh, is there such thing as a foodgasm? Coz I think I'm having one right now." Ed smiled whist taking another bite of cake.

Suddenly, I heard a noise.

"Did you hear that?" I asked Ed.

"Hear what?" He replied.

It sounded like keys rummaging in a lock... WAIT. KEYS IN A LOCK?!

"Harry!" Ed and I both yell whispered at the same time.

"Get down!" I pulled him down and we hid behind the counter.

My hand quickly shot up and I felt around on the work top for the cake. My hands grasped the plate and I pulled it down. Ed started to laugh.

"Shhh!" I hissed.

The kitchen door opened and Harry walked in. His footsteps echoed in my ears. Ed and I remained silent, eyes locked on each other. I suddenly felt the urge to pee. Is it just me or when you're hiding, do you always need to pee?

Ed's hand moved towards the plate as he took another bite of cake. The edges of his lips twitched as he tried not to have a 'foodgasm'.

"Where did I put it?" Harry muttered to himself. "Where's my fucking phone?"

My eyes widened in horror as I saw Harry's mobile on the floor next to the table. It must have fallen. If Harry sees that phone, he would also see Ed and I stuffing our faces with cake.

"Ed!" I mouthed. "It's over there!" I pointed towards the phone.

"Shizz." He mouthed back.

He quietly crawled and then peeped around the corner to where Harry was. The next bit happened very fast.

Ed stood up and picked up an apple then threw it on the other side of the room, the apple catching Harry's gaze. As fast as a fox, Ed lept up, retrieved Harry's phone and threw it on the soft chair on the other side of the room. Ed then paced back and ducked down, unnoticed by Harry.

He held his fingers to his lips, indicating that I should keep quiet.

"What the-" Harry began.

"Harry! Hurry up!" A girl's voice bellowed from the hallway.

"Coming!" He yelled back and I heard some muffling around and then the kitchen door shut, soon followed by the front door.

Ed and I both exhaled a huge sigh of relief. I looked at him, and he looked straight back smirking like an idiot. We both burst out laughing.

"Did you see me? I was like a ninja!" Ed leaped up.

He held out his hand for me to take and I willingly took it as he helped me up. The feel of his hand on mine felt soft and gentle, yet filled with so much energy.

"That was way too close!" I told him.

"But it was worth it, right?" He said. "I mean look at this beautiful cake."

"Alright, you have a point." I agreed.

We continued stuffing our faces with cake and various other foods which we could find. We were wiping Harry out of food, he was sure to notice.

Suddenly, Ed's phone buzzed in his pocket and he got it out. He looked like he was reading a text. Instantly, he started to laugh.

"What?" I asked.

"It's a text from Harry." He laughed then showed me his phone.

Text:

I saw your shoes in the doorway dumbass! Don't eat ALL my food :P

"He knew we were here." I stated.

"Looks like it."

"I'm guessing you do this often then." I said.

"What? Steal food from Harry?" Ed smirked. "All the time. He doesn't mind though."

"You know what." An idea sparked to mind. "I'm going to find you an awesome job so you don't have to keep stealing food."

"Where?" He asked.

"I know just the place..."
