Roommate

09:28, 29 September 2015

Hiii guysss!! So sorry about the late update! I've been so busy with school and stuff. But hey, it's almost the holidays!!! Anywayz, enough with the boring stuff. Here's the next chapter...

Ed's POV

Was it too early to call? I mean, it had been a whole day since I had last heard her voice. I missed her already. Was this normal?

I heard the mail drop to the floor from my letter box and scurried towards it. A brown letter with the word 'URGENT' stamped on in bright red. I put all the other letters down and opened the urgent one.

Shit.

I was late on rent again. If I didn't pay up in the next week I was going to be evicted. Luckily, I was getting paid tomorrow for Camp, but after that, how the heck was I going to afford rent? I needed a roommate. Fast.

I collapsed on to my sofa in a heap of despair. If only Louise were here, I'm sure she would find a way to cheer me up. Just her presence made me happy.

My mind kept drifting to our kiss. It was short and sweet, but it was wonderful. I needed to see her.

I eyed my phone. To hell with it. I was going to call her. I snatched my phone off the table and searched for her number. A smile creeped on my face when I found her number. 'Louise a.k.a Yoda' she had saved it as.

It reminded me of when I first met her and she told me her name was Yoda. I had already had a huge crush on her then.

I dialled her number and she answered on the third ring.

"Um hey... it's Ed." I said, suddenly feeling really nervous.

"Ed! Hi!" She beamed really excited which made my nerves calm down.

"I was wondering if you were free today? I know we only saw each other yesterday but-"

"Hells yeah. I've been having a crappy day, I'm so glad you called." She said which made me smile.

"We can compare our crappy days over a coffee?" I suggested.

"Sounds awesome. Meet at the Starbucks on Crowfield Road in half an hour?" She asked.

"Cool, see you then."

"Bye."

I hung up. Well that was quick and easy. Looks like she wanted to see me as much as I wanted to see her.

Louise's POV

Did I sound really eager just then? Oh well, I didn't care and neither did Ed. It seemed as if he was already missing me and I'm not going to lie, I was missing him to. Was that normal? I had only properly known the guy a week. Wow. It felt like longer considering the amount of stuff I knew about him.

I walked in to the Starbucks and caught Ed's eye straight away. Butterflies began jumping up and down in my stomach. Damn he was cute.

I noticed that there was two cups already on the table. One for him, one for me. A cappuccino. How did he know what I liked to drink at Starbucks?

"Hey." I waved and sat down in the seat opposite him. "I didn't expect you to call so soon. I'm glad you did though."

"Yeah, so am I." He smiled.

"How did you know I always drink this," I held up my coffee. "when I come here?"

"I didn't," He replied. "I guess we like the same stuff."

"I guess so..."

"So what happened in this crappy day of yours today?" He asked.

"Well," I was just going to come out with it. "I might be moving to Scotland."

"What?!" He almost choked on his drink. "You're so random! Why?"

"Well, I've been living with my friend Lottie ever since Harry and I broke up. But, now her boyfriend is moving in with her, there's no space for me." I explained.

"So you're like... homeless?" He asked.

"I guess you could say that. And if I don't find a place to live in the next two days... I'm going to Scotland." I told him.

"Why Scotland? It's so far." He said.

"Yeah... I've just always wanted to go and I found a cheap place there." I frowned.

It had only just occurred to me that if I moved to Scotland, I would never see Ed again.

"Oh wow." He looked upset.

"Sucks right?"

"Definitely." He said amazed. "We've only been away from each other a day and now you might be moving to Scotland!"

"I know."

"You're so..." He shook head head in disbelief and laughed.

"So..." I pushed him to continue.

"Crazy. But I like crazy." He smiled.

"Thanks." I sarcastically smiled. "Well, what about your crappy day?" I asked.

"Oh yeah." He said as if he had forgotten everything. "I think I'm going to be homeless too."

"Really?" I almost laughed that we had the same dilemma. "How?"

"I can't afford the rent." He told me.

"So where will you go?" I asked.

"I have no idea. I think I'm probably gonna look for a roommate so-" And then he stopped speaking and I stared at him.

We were thinking the exact same thing.

"I need a roommate!" He suddenly realised. "And you need a place to live!"

Was this really happening? Oh my gosh!

"Ed, what are you saying?" I asked.

"Be my roommate!" He beamed as if it were the best idea ever (which it was).

"I... well..." I was speechless. I didn't know what to say.

"I have a spare room. You need a room. It's a win win situation." He smiled. "Well... only if you want to..."

"Yeah! That would be amazing. Are you sure?"

"Hell yeah I'm sure. I would much rather live with you than a random person... or on the streets." He told me.

Wait, wait, wait, wait. So I was going to move in with a boy that I liked a lot and we were semi going out too? It was sort of like we were in a very fast paced relationship, but we had only ever kissed once.

To be honest, I wasn't too sure where I stood on this whole relationship stuff. This was all very weird, but I loved it.

"So this is really happening? You want me to be your roommate?"

"Yes!" He smiled.

"When?"

"When ever you want." He told me.

"How about tomorrow?" I suggested.

"Perfect!" He smiled.

"Wow." That happened quick. "I'd better start packing."

"How about I help?" He suggested whilst standing up, coffee in hand.

"What, now?"

"No time like the present!" He smiled.

He was a nutter. But he was my nutter.

"Alright, let's go." I smiled.

I stood up and we both walked out of the coffee shop and in to the cold winters afternoon.

"I wonder how Carlos is doing." Ed said.

"Yeah, I hope he's okay. I sort of miss him and his wacky ways." I admitted.

"Me too." Ed agreed.

"I missed you too, even though it hadn't been that long." I admitted.

"Well I missed you as well." He smiled. Damn his smile was heart melting.

We carried on walking for ten more minutes until we reached Lottie's place. I fumbled around for my keys and unlocked the door.

"Welcome to my humble abode." I smiled and opened the door for him to come in. "My room is this way."

I lead him round the corner and up to my room.

"Louise! Is that you?!" Lottie yelled from the next room. She came running in.

"Who else would it be?" I said when she came in.

"I thought you were Niall." Lottie suddenly realised I had company. "Woah woah woah now. Is this the famous Ed?"

"I'm famous am I?" Ed grinned and held out his hand for Lottie to shake.

"More like a superstar celebrity! Louise talks about you all the time. On the phone, watching TV, eating breakfast, all the time." She told Ed.

I blushed a deep red.

"Does she now?" Ed laughed.

"What? No I don't." I denied.

"You do too." Lottie said. "I'm glad I finally got to meet you before my best friend in the whole wide world. leaves me."

"Leaves you?" Ed asked. "I wouldn't let her do that."

"What do you mean?" Lottie asked.

"I needed a roommate... and now I don't." Ed hinted.

"Wait, what?" Lottie began to smile. "You both are going to be roommates?"

"Yep." I nodded.

"Yes!" Lottie squealed. "You're not going to Scotland!"

"I guess not." I smiled at Ed.

I heard the front door open and Niall, Lottie's Irish boyfriend, yelled hello.

"Oh, Niall's here!" Lottie said. "I'll leave you two love birds alone."

And with that Lottie left Ed and I alone together.

"You talk about me all the time now do you?" Ed smirked.

"No, she was exaggerating way too much." I tried not to blush deeper.

"Whatever you say." He laughed.

I picked up my pillow and whacked him over the head. He picked my other one up and did the same only on my side. We both started laughing and hitting each other with pillows.

I stood up and ran around my bed escaping Ed's pillow hit. I threw mine at him and he caught it and threw it back.

I ran up close to him and whacked him and he did the same. I couldn't see where I was hitting or what I and doing.

"I give in, I give in!" I giggled whilst holding my hands up. With one last hit, Ed stopped too.

"I'm the king at pillow fights." He dropped his pillow to the floor.

We were standing so close to each other, I could hear his deep breaths. His ocean blue eyes sparkled at me as he rested his gaze upon me. I could smell the coffee on him with a hint of lynx seeping through gently. His lips looked soft and sweet; they were irresistible.

We both leaned in slowly and our lips effortlessly touched together sending electric sparks all through my body. I allowed the taste of his coffee to blend in with mine as we embraced our special moment. It felt familiar to the last time, yet different.

"I was-" Lottie burst through the room. "Crap, sorry!"

Ed and I quickly pulled apart and I blushed once again.

"Carry on like that and you'll be packing for hours!" She started to laugh and then stalked off.

Biting my lip, I looked at Ed and he looked back at me. We both started to randomly laugh.

"Stop distracting me Edward!" I laughed. "I have packing to do."

"Soz." He threw a T-shirt at me. "I can't help being so damn irresistible."

That made me laugh. I didn't know what to expect when I moved in with Ed, but there was one thing I did know: I was going to enjoy it.
