Chapter 7

21:17, 3 July 2015

"Hey, Audrey. Cappuccino again?" Iris asked, I was the only one at Jitters, by now the most people were working. "Yes, please." I needed coffee, I haven't slept last night. I've walked al night trough Caitlin's apartment. Thinking about the Flash. "Here. I'm really sorry about that thing the other night." She said, giving my my cup. "Iris, really, it's fine." I reassured her. She looked like she didn't believe me. "How did you invite him actually?" I asked subtle. "I have a blog, if I post that he needs to come, he comes." She told me proudly. "I need to meet him again." I blurted out. "I need to know who he is. I can't sleep or eat or think, till I found out who he is." I said. "You can have dinner with my dad and I tonight, after it we can meet him." She suggested. "That sounds great." I smiled. Iris wrote something down. "This is my address." She said giving me the note. "Be there tonight at 6 o'clock."

"Hello." I said to the older man who opened the door. "Hello, I'm Joe West. You must be Annie." He introduced himself. "Audrey." I said I smiled. "Audrey, sorry, please come in." He said. I hung my coat on the coat rack. "You have a nice house, mr. West." I complimented. "Thank you, Audrey." He smiled. "You want something to drink?" He asked. "Just water, please." I said. He walked to the kitchen and came back with a big glass water for me. "Dad, Audrey and I need to be somewhere at 9." Iris interrupted. I took a big gulp of my water. "Dinner is already ready, we just have to wait for Barry," mr. West told us. I choked on my water. "Barry, Barry Allen?" I asked still coughing. "Yes, is that a problem?" Mr. West asked confused. "No, no." I said. The doorbell ringed. "I'll go." I quickly said. Immediately I walked to the door. "Hi Barry." I greeted him awkwardly. "Hey." He smiled. He walked in. "Barry, I want to apologize about what I said a few days ago." I softly said. "It's okay. Better safe than sorry, right?" He said. The rest of the evening went good. We silently ate our food. And talked by the coffee. "Dad, Audrey and I are leaving." Iris said. "Where are you guys actually going?" mr. West asked us. "Just meeting a friend." I said with a sweet smile. "Okay, have fun." Mr. West said.

"We're late." I mumbled. We were walking as fast as possible to be on time. "Relax." Iris laughed. "We are there already." She said. "Hello Iris." The voice said behind us. "Hello Streak." Iris said. "He wants to be called the Flash." I blurted out. I heard him laugh, It sounded weird, probably because of the thing that changed his voice. "Wait a second, Iris." He said. The moment I heard it, I felt two hands on my waist. My surroundings became blurry and I felt a squall. The moment I realized what was happening he stopped. We stood on the roof of the building. "O my god." I muttered and quickly turned around. "Are you going to faint again because of me?" He asked jokingly. "Okay, first, I didn't faint. And second, not because of you, I'm afraid of heights." I told him. I heard him chuckle. I smiled. "Why did you bring me here?" I asked. "I figured you are the one that wants to speak to me." He told me. "I want to ask you something." I said. "You first need to do something for me." He said. "Anything." I immediately whispered. "Turn around." He said. "Anything but that." I said. "You need to face your fears." He said, suddenly close. I could feel his breath. I closed my eyes and slowly turned around. I grabbed his hand. Carefully I opened my eyes. There were small lights everywhere. And even trough it was terrifying, it was beautiful. "Wow." I breathed. I turned around so I faced him again. If he wasn't this tall, our faces would have touched each other. And I felt the urge to kiss him. "Any more fears you want to face?" He asked. "I already am." I whispered. "What is it?" He whispered back. "Falling in love." I breathed. "With who?" He asked softly. "That's a secret I won't tell." I smiled. He chuckled. "Now you are allowed to ask your question." He told me. I thought about it. "Never mind." I murmured. "You want back to the ground?" He asked. "One second." I walked back to the rail of the roof. "It definitely is breathtaking." I softly said. "I couldn't agree more." He said. "Okay, now I'm ready to go back."
