Chapter 8

14:35, 4 August 2015

"Do you know who he is." Iris asked excited. "Actually, I haven't asked him." I admitted. "Why not?" Iris asked. "I couldn't." I murmured. "I don't understand it anymore." Iris said. "Please, don't think I'm crazy." I quickly said. "Why would I think that?" Iris asked, giggling. "I'm falling in love with the Flash." I softly admitted. "You what?" Iris practically shouted. "Iris, I swear that I know him. I am just trying to fit the pieces together." I told her. "Then why didn't you ask who he is?" She asked me. "Because when I know who he is, that could break my heart."

"Audrey, what's wrong with you?" Caitlin asked. "Nothing?" I asked back. "You are acting weird. I noticed you don't sleep anymore and you're almost every evening gone." She said. "Something terrible is happening." I sighed, I sat down beside her. "I'm falling in love." I told her. "Really? Who is the lucky one?" She squealed. "That's the bad part," I said, "I don't know who he is.""How can you not know who the guy you love is?" She asked confused. "Love is a big word, I prefer crushing on." I said pouting. "Don't avoid the question, Audrey." Caitlin said. "Because I'm falling in love with the Flash." I said so soft, I hoped she didn't hear it. "Are you out of your mind?" She bursted out. "He isn't dangerous! I met him a few times." I said trying to calm her. "I have to make a call." She said angry. She stood up and walked out the room. I heard the door loudly shut. Quickly I stood up. I opened the front door a little bit. I saw her stand at the hall. "No, you listen!" She almost screamed. "You stay away from her, she's like my sister." She said, her voice wasn't loud. But it was as cold as ice. I shut the door and ran to my bedroom. Quickly I put on some pajamas and I lied in bed. I pretended to sleep. "Audrey, I know you are awake." She softly said, walking into my room. "I'm sorry, you're not the one I'm mad at." She apologized. "Who were you calling." I whispered. "You don't have to worry about it." She whispered back. "I'll let you sleep." She softly said. And she left the room.

"Why would someone like me, like someone as normal as you?" The person sneered. "You aren't good enough." He said disgusted. "Please, Flash you aren't like this." I begged. "You wouldn't know, you don't know who I am." He laughed. "You are not special enough to be loved." He shouted.

I shot straight up. "Audrey? What's wrong?" A voice asked. I looked up and saw Caitlin standing in the doorpost. "Nothing, just a nightmare." I said. "It definitely wasn't nothing. You were shouting:"Please." Over and over again. And you are crying." She said. I felt my cheeks, she was right. Wet streams flowed over my face. "Oh." I murmured. "You slept good. It's already 1 P.M. "I thought you would go to S.T.A.R. Labs?" I said. "I don't feel like going." She said. Her phone buzzed. She quickly read the message. "But I have to. There is some trouble." She sighed. "I'll be back late." She said. "Bye." I murmured.

A few hours later I woke up again. I didn't know what time it was, but it was dark already. I really needed to get out so I quickly got dressed. I walked out the apartment en started walking through the city. I was lost in thought. Suddenly I recognized where I was. I've seen the Flash here yesterday. I walked inside and took the elevator to the highest floor. I walked on the roof. Suddenly I saw someone stand in front of me. He stood with his back turned to me. I recognized the leather looking suit. But he wasn't wearing his mask. His hair was brown. "Flash?" I asked softly. Al his muscles tensed up. I could swear I've seen that before, but I couldn't remember. Quickly he put on his mask. "What are you doing here?" He asked. "Thinking." I said. "I've got to go." He said and he sounded kind of nervous. "I know you? Don't I?" I asked. "I can't talk." He said and left me alone.

I walked home. I took the shortcut. There were there some homeless people. But they wouldn't hurt me. I heard footsteps behind me and as a reflex I started to walk faster. I looked behind me, to see who was following me. I gasped, because the person that followed me, was no other than my dead brother.
