CHAPTER 17

15:16, 12 December 2025

Y/N's POV

"Y/N, go and get ready. We're going to meet them," Mom said.

"Okay," I replied softly.

"And wear the dress I gave you this morning," she added.

"Okay, Mom..." I said, then walked to my room with a deep sigh.

A few minutes later, I was already dressed. I gathered my courage and went downstairs.

Downstairs

Mom and Dad were already waiting. Mom looked at me, her face lighting up. She walked toward me, cupped my cheeks gently, and smiled.

"Aww, my love... you look beautiful," she said before kissing my forehead.

"My princess is ready," Dad added proudly.

I just nodded shyly.

After a short drive, we reached the cafΓ©. The moment we entered, we saw Mrs. Jeon and Mr. Jeon waiting for us.

We walked toward them, and I bowed politely.

"Hello, Mrs. and Mr. Jeon," I greeted.

"Y/N, no need to call me Mrs. Jeon. Just call me eomma," Mrs. Jeon said warmly.

"Okay, Mrs. Jeβ€” I mean, eomma," I corrected myself, a little embarrassed.

"Come, have a seat," Mrs. Jeon said as we were still standing.

We sat down, and soon my parents and the Jeons began discussing marriage. I kept quiet until I finally gathered courage.

"Umm... I have a request," I said softly.

My mom and dad immediately looked at me. Mrs. Jeon leaned forward slightly. "Sure, Y/N. What is it?"

"I... I'm a college student. It's my third year... so..." I hesitated and looked at them.

"You want to continue your studies after marriage?" Mrs. Jeon asked kindly.

I nodded.

"Okay, no problem. You can," both Mr. and Mrs. Jeon said together.

I blinked in surprise. "Reaβ€” really?"

"Of course, dear. And if you even want to do a job after marriage, we don't have any problem," Mrs. Jeon said with a gentle smile.

"Thank you so much..." I said, genuinely relieved.

"Where is your son, Mr. Jeon?" my mom asked.

"Actually, he's busy. He's a professor, so he must be teaching right now," Mr. Jeon replied with a smile.

"Oh, okay. Then when shall we set the engagement date?" my mom asked.

"Let's keep it next Monday," Mrs. Jeon said, looking directly at me with a warm, reassuring smile.

My heart skipped a beat.
