CHAPTER 16

Y/N's POV

After a few minutes, Mom returned to the living room, her face glowing. Without warning, she pulled me into a tight hug.

"My lovely daughter is going to get married," she said happily.

I gently pulled away. "Mom... I need to go to college."

"Honey, stay home today," she said quickly. "Your mother-in-law wants to meet you."

"But mom—" I tried to speak, but Dad cut me off.

"Princess, please meet them. After all, she's going to be your mother-in-law," Dad said softly.

I sighed, frustration building inside me. "Mom, Dad... from the beginning I told you I wasn't ready for marriage. But still, because of you both, I agreed. But why do I have to meet them?"

"Because they also want to get to know their daughter-in-law," Mom replied firmly.

Dad turned to Mom. "When will we go to meet them?"

"At 4 p.m. today. We're meeting at the Xxxxx Café," Mom said.

"Okay... fine," I said, exhaling deeply.

Mom smiled and held my wrist. "My love, come with me."

She dragged me gently into her room.

Inside the Room

Mom walked straight to the closet, opened it, and took out a brand-new dress. She held it up and placed it in my hands.

"Wear this when you go to meet them," she said.

"Mom... when did you buy this?" I asked.

"When we were coming here to meet my beautiful daughter," she replied proudly.

"Ahh, Mom... you know I already have lots of clothes. Why did you buy this?" I said, half-whining.

"Just take it. And don't ask questions," she said, giving me the look.

And that was it. The whole day passed in preparations, nervous thoughts, and silence.

Soon, it was time—for me to meet my future mother-in-law and father-in-law.
