Attack on Titan: The Traitorous Enemies uncovered

22:12, 18 December 2018

Kiyomi and Armin were in the middle of an intense expedition beyond the Walls. There is a new Titan they encounter. Most Titans appear genderless, but this one in particular had a unique look that gave it feminine qualities. So everyone started to nickname this Abnormal the "Female Titan".

When the Female Titan grabbed Reiner, Armin couldn't help but realize that right after he slipped out of the Female Titan's grasp using his blades to cut off its fingers, that perhaps....Reiner wrote a message on the Female Titans palm. Because right after, it began to head on over to the direction of where Eren's squad was inside the forest of big trees. This couldn't have been good.

Armin began pondering and pondering and he came to an conclusion - There were other Titan shapeshifters like Eren. The female Titan...she...she spared him, and once more while gazing into his eyes when he laid wounded in the grass, the crystal blue eyes looked oddly familiar. And it's curved straight nose....

Armin figured it out. The identity of the Female Titan had to be Annie Leonhart. And as for Reiner....he was on her side. To kill Eren? Whatever intention they both had for Eren, he has no idea. He just knows that letting Eren go in their paws would be really bad.

Sweat begins to roll down Armin's face as the nervous thought that Annie and Reiner weren't actually on their side, stroke fear into him. He wanted to believe deep down that it wasn't true. Really, he did. But based off Armin's observations....

"Armin!" a voice snaps Armin out of his thoughts. "H-Huh?!" Armin jerks his head up as he completely snaps out of it. "Armin, are you alright?" it was Reiner. He was originally tying down a cloth around Armin's wounded forehead.

"I-I'm fine." answers Armin quietly. As time passed, everyone among the group were clueless as of what their next course of action should be. They were stuck with only one or two horses, and there was only four of them in total. Horses won't let you ride them unless you are their rider who have trained them, so...

"Damn it!!" Curses Jean, not knowing what to do. He didn't want to abandon anyone. He fears his death, but he doesn't want to abandon anyone. He's a changed man, he's no longer the self-centered coward of a jerk he once was. So abandoning someone among the group....was completely out of question. Yet, they really didn't have much of any other choice.

"Kiyomi...I want to talk to you." Armin whispers into Kiyomi's ear. She blushes in response and stutters out, "S-Sure..."

Armin and Kiyomi climbs up the close by tree and Armin talks to Kiyomi from up there. Up at this height, nobody should hear their conversation, especially with their backs turned.

"Kiyomi....there are others like Eren. Other shapeshifters." Armin starts out as his voice shutters just from the mere thought of more humans besides Eren having the ability to such a dangerous power.

"You mean like, the Female Titan?" asks Kiyomi. "Yes, exactly. And what's more...I think....I recognize who just might be the Female Titan."

Armin leans closer in towards Kiyomi before whispering....

"Annie."

Kiyomi's eyes grows wide and her expression is filled with disbelief. This was hard for both to take in. but as Kiyomi thought back, she lets out a loud gasp in recognition. Armin immediately clamps her mouth shut.

"K-Kiyomi! Shush!" Armin shushes her, nearly panicking.

"Armin!! Kiyomi!! Quit fooling around up there! Gosh, can't you wait till we return to the Walls?!" shouts out Jean. "H-Huh?!?!" Armin's face immediately heats up into a scarlet red. Jean thought that they were fooling around and trying to sneak in a little bit of romance.

"I-It's not like that Jean!" Armin turns his head around and shouts back at the horse-face. "Then get down here!! We need to discuss our plans over what to do next!"

"I-In a moment!" Armin shouts over before returning his attention back to Kiyomi. "Kiyomi, I....I think...Reiner is on their side."

"H-Huh?"

"Kiyomi, I know this is all a lot to take in all at once, but...Reiner, I have a reason to believe that when he got caught in the Female Titan's grasp, that he wrote a message on the palm of the Female Titan's hand. A message...leading her to Eren!"

"Wait...are you saying...?" Armin nods before answering...."Annie and Reiner....they aren't on our side. And they're after Eren."

Armin and Kiyomi got down from the tree and Jean and Reiner were discussing what everyone's next course of action should be. As everyone talked things over, they came to the conclusion that someone would have to be left behind.

"W-What about Reiner? He's strong - I'm sure he wouldn't mind--"Kiyomi was immediately cut off my Reiner as he interrupted, saying...

"Are you serious?! I barely even survived that last fight...are you kidding me right now?" Reiner grinned as a serious look expressed itself on his face. Honestly, the look scared Kiyomi a little. She didn't want Reiner to get any funny ideas like they were on to him. So...

"T-Then I'll stay!" Kiyomi announces. "W-What? No! I'll stay! You go with Jean and Reiner!" Armin exclaims. "What? No! I'm not, your going with them! I'll be fine!" Kiyomi begins to argue with Armin.

"B-But, Kiyomi! You can't! I know how scared you are of the Titans!"

"T-That doesn't matter right now! I want to stay! I can handle it! I'm sure over time someone will come. So it's not like I'm signing up to be eaten alive or anything."

"Y-Yes, but....j-just go!!" Armin raises his voice loud enough to the point he screamed at her. Armin instantly regrets raising his voice the moment he sees the hurt in Kiyomi's eyes. "K-Kiyomi...I'm sorry." Armin softens up his voice. "B-But please....just go. I'm not that weak."

"B-But Armin, I don't think your weak at all! Your..."

"Just go."

With these final words being said, Kiyomi sadly turns away from Armin and hops onto Jean's horse and she held onto his shoulder to hang on. If she holds onto nothing, she fears that she would fall.

As Jean and Reiner's horse races away, Kiyomi glances behind to see Armin just standing there. Tears begins to threaten to escape from her eyes as her face heats up both in sadness and anger.

Why was Armin always like this? She isn't wanting to stay because she thinks he is too weak to take care of his own self. It was because she loved him. She couldn't help but to worry because of that.

But suddenly both Jean and Reiner's horses stops in their tracks. "Huh? What is it?" asks Kiyomi. "I-It's help! Someone's coming! With two horses!" exclaims Jean in relief.

The one who came with two horses was no other than Christa Lenz. To the males here, she was their savior and a beautiful and precious angel. Kiyomi liked Christa....a little. Christa was always so nice and kind to her. But sometimes she seemed kinda fake. It was as if the girl was hiding who she really was. It was like....she was trying hard to be somebody else. This couldn't help but to make Kiyomi wonder at times.

But now that Christa was here with more horses, Armin no longer had to stay behind. This much relieved Kiyomi and made her feel glad. But her happiness fades away when she remembers the tone of voice and words Armin stabbed her with. Kiyomi knows that Armin wasn't trying to hurt her feelings at all, he was just simply wanting to protect her, but...she couldn't help but to feel hurt.

She didn't want Armin to think that she thought of him as a weakling. To Kiyomi, Armin was a smart and brave person. He was truly her hero - she can't count the number of times he's saved her from almost being eaten alive. If only he knew...

Everyone started to get onboard their own horses. One of the horses Christa happened to bring along just so happened to be Armin's horse, Chestnut! Yes, Chestnut its its name. Armin was getting himself ready and prepared on top his own horse.

Jean was eyeing Kiyomi as if waiting for the moment she would walk on over and return to sitting behind him onto his steed. But Kiyomi's eyes couldn't scroll away from Armin and she approaches and asks him gently if she could ride with him. Armin blushes and says that she could and how he didn't mind.

Jean literally felt crushed in reaction to Kiyomi somewhat ditching him to ride with Armin instead. Literally, he has no luck with the girls! But it would make sense to Jean, that Kiyomi would want to ride with Armin. Kiyomi was just begging moments ago to stay at the very spot they were now leaving in Armin's place. The two are inseparable, plus they were just sitting on top that tree together...

Jean shakes his head to snap the thoughts away as he allows his tragic and pitiful tears to rain down. Will Jean ever have any luck with girls? Probably not, no. As the horse ran at full speed, Kiyomi began to wrap her arms around Armin's waist. Whenever she did so, she felt safe and secure.

After a while of riding, and Armin blushing a bit, she softly speaks to him to tell him her thoughts. "Armin....I want you to know that I don't think that you are weak at all. Your really smart and brave. You saved me from certain death many times over. It's just....sometimes I can't help but to worry about you, Eren, and Mikasa because I care about you."

Armin places a hand against one of Kiyomi's before replying, "It's alright. I know."

The expedition continued and the five survived the trip back into the Walls. Sooner or later however, both Armin and Kiyomi knew that they would have to tell someone reliable and trustworthy like Hanji about Annie and Reiner. And that's exactly what they did.

The End
