Attack on Titan: Shame
21:15, 11 December 2018It was another day inside the Walls on Paradise. Eren was out hiding in Wall Maria. It was nearly destroyed entirely from the battle a year or two ago. During the final battle against Reiner and Bertolt, the Walldian’s enemy. Eren walks along the streets he once ran across with his best friend Armin, along with Mikasa who was like a sister to him.
But that was back in the old ways. Back when everything was peaceful. Before hell broke, before all the bad came. Back when life was good….perfect, even. But it wasn’t completely perfect. The one thing missing was their freedom.
Freedom to do and say whatever you wanted. Freedom to journey outside the Walls to explore the land that belonged to everyone. The world beyond the Walls was stolen from them. It rightfully belonged to everyone. Because from the moment everyone was born, they were born free. But that freedom can often at times get stolen from them.
At first Humanity thought it was the Titans who were the enemy. But the real enemy wasn’t them-- it was Marley, the people who send out the Titans in an attempt to eliminate everyone living inside the walls. Since Marlians believed that the Walldians were bad people and devils for their ancestors past, whose history was erased out of the Walldian’s minds.
Eren had a determination that could not break. Very soon, and even just recently, he has started to betray the people who have trusted and relied on him for so long. Eren wasn’t going to give up on getting back the freedom he longed for.
“Is that what you want Eren?! The freedom to hurt Mikasa!?” His Childhood friend Armin’s voice echoes in the back of Eren’s head in hot anger and sadness. There was no turning back. It’s impossible to change the past or to go back.
As Eren continued to walk down the streets, he suddenly hears a voice he had long forgotten. “Eren….you should be ashamed of yourself. Your better than this.” Eren glances towards where he heard the voice and what stood in front of him was a vision. It was Hans. and besides him, was Armin and Mikasa he held a hand on.
Mikasa would sob in Han’s arms, while Armin weakly leaned against him as blood streamed out his mouth and nose from the time Eren punched and beaten him up back during their last meeting.
He stared into Hans eyes, and he could see the shame, unpleasing and disappointed look in his eyes reflecting his thoughts and emotions towards Eren at that moment. Eren begins to stretch out a hand towards the three, but as the wind whooshed by, they vanished and became nothing but a vison that had come to pass.
“Those three….they…they died a long time ago.”
The End
