27. deep talks

the next few days passed by in a blur as yumi took care of joshua. yumi worked really hard as she tried to finish her work early and immediately went back to stay by joshua's side as he recovered. yumi made sure he ate well and drank lots of hot fluids, which made him get better in no time.

right now, it was 9:00 pm, and they were watching a movie, after a really long day at work for yumi. joshua reached out and took her hand, his touch still a little weak.

"yumi," he murmured. "can i tell you something?"

she looked up at him, her heart skipping a beat. "of course, you can tell me anything."

joshua hesitated. "i—umm, i've been thinking... about us. i know we've been keeping things quiet, but i was thinking about us going public. i want to share more of us, i want everyone to know what you mean to me."

her breath caught in her throat. she didn't expect him to say that.

"i'm okay with whatever you decide, joshua," she said softly, her thumb brushing the back of his hand. "there's many pictures of us on the internet already, and people are so happy for you. if you want to keep things private, i'm fine with it. but if you want to post about us, i'll support you."

joshua smiled. "it's just that i'm so tired of hiding. i mean, why do i have to hide the person i love? i'm human too, you know? i have the right to love and be loved."

"of course you do, my love." yumi giggled. "we'll do whatever makes you happy, alright?"

joshua nodded. "i love you, yumi."

"i love you too."

soon, joshua was asleep, his and yumi's hands still intertwined. yumi waited for a few minutes, making sure he was fully asleep, before slowly getting out of the bed and leaving the room. when she stepped outside, she was greeted by woozi.

"hey." he smiled at her.

"it's weird that you're always here and not in your studio," she teased.

"i wanted to check on joshua." he chuckled. "how's he?"

"he's so much better now," she replied. "he's like a big baby, i love taking care of him."

"so disgusting but cute." he laughed.

they talked for a few more minutes about the most random topics, they talked about restaurants they wanted to try, about their day at work, and many more things, when yumi decided to bring up the topic joshua mentioned.

"joshua wants to post about our relationship," she said.

"huh? why all of a sudden?" he asked.

"he said he's tired of hiding," she answered. "i told him he can post about it, since i've been reading the comments on the posts made about us, and people seem... happy."

"ahh, you've been stalking us!" he laughed. "i guess it could be a good idea, since everyone's actually happy about it. it's really hard dating someone, especially in this industry. we're always getting judged, people want us to stay single forever, singing and performing for them only and not living our lives. it's ridiculous."

"yeah i honestly don't get it," she replied. "i mean, everyone deserves to be in a relationship, get married, have kids. i don't get why it's forbidden for kpop idols."

"well, at least i'm way too far from all of this drama," he said. "i'm always in my studio, people have nothing to say about me."

"you've been going out a lot lately," she teased, making him laugh. "people might spread rumors about you."

"hoshi keeps dragging me out!" he groaned. "i can't say no to him, he gets upset!"

as the night went on, they talked about a few other topics before saying goodnight to each other. yumi walked into joshua's room and slowly lied down next to him.

he pulled her closer and she smiled as she fell asleep.
