Chapter 6

Since they were at the beach side the hospitals were far away so they reached the nearby small clinic and lucas came outside carefully holding athy.. Lily rushed him  to get inside.. There was only one doctor and nurse inside the clinic and some patients were sitting  in the lobby. The nurse stared at lucas holding athy in His arms in awe.. And some other ladies smiled looking at them... Cause they thought they were couples.

"what happened?" doc  asked lucas adjusting her specs.

"she fainted" lucas said looking  at her worried.

The doc told lucas to put athy on the bed and He put her down carefully and she  checked athy.. Lily was nervously standing while felix was standing beside her patting her shoulder calming her down. Helena and cabel stood in the corner of the room and lucas stand beside felix. The doc turned towards them smiling.. She went near lucas and  grabbed  his hands holding them with her's and smiled at him .. He looked at her confused..

"congratulations.. your wife is three months pregnant" she said smiling..

Lucas was thunderstucked  and went speechless, he frozed on the spot and looked at the doc wide eyed. She told them to wait until she gain consciousness and to   took her home after that . She went outside of the room with the nurse.

As soon as the doc went outside with nurse lily almost collapsed in shock but felix caught her before she fell..

"li... Lily.. Calm down" felix shouted and lucas came out of his daze after hearing felix shouting. He saw lily was shocked and confused at the same time.

"felix what the hell is going on...?!! When did this happen...?!! God...!! I feel dizzy... First  of all... who is the father of her child..?"

lily asked panicking. Felix gulped and prepared himself to tell her everything.

"it's this bastard"

felix said pointing at lucas, cabel and helena who were already surprised gasped.. Helena signalled cabel to come  out and they silently left the room..

"God... I feel sorry for lucas.. I hope lily won't kill him.. Even felix was scared of her"

cabel said worried.

"well.. I am sure she won't kill him.. But I can't guarantee anything other than that"

helena shrugged.

"helly... let's wait outside until they finish thier family convo"

and helena nodded her head.

"yeah..let's sit.. You know what..? I controlled my laughter when the doc congratulated lucas without knowing anything"

helena said giggling.

"pfft.. Yeah he literally froze from shock.. I never saw him  so  shocked like that..he was always calm and collected "

cabel said and they burst out laughing .

"well.. I Hope everything will end well for athy and him."

helly said looking down and cabel nodded his head.

Felix explained every thing to lily and she was beyond shocked after knowing the full story..

'since when did athy become this careless..? I can understand why she hide it from me but... What will happen to her now..?'

Lily turned and glared at lucas.. He stood there looking down  silently.. She went near him and slapped him.. Felix watched her silently cause he know no one can calm her down unless it was athy.. Lucas still  didn't said anything and looked down.

"I know you didn't do it purposely but I am still mad at you... What are you going to do now..?"

"if you are going to back off saying it was just a mistake then get lost immediately or take responsibility for your action"

she said in a stern voice glaring at him. Felix looked at lucas anxiously.. Waiting for his reply. There was silence.. He looked up after sometime facing lily eye to eye.

"i won't back off.. Even though it's an accident.. it's still my responsibility.."

Lily was surprised by his reply.. She looked  straight at him .. She can see it in his eyes.. He was sincere.

"The responsibility you are saying you will take.. Are you really gonna do it?" she asked him in a authorative voice  still in doubt.

"Yeah I will"

he said in a calm tone looking straight at her.. Felix smiled happily and felt relieved it was lucas not anyone else.

"then marry her.. That's what  the responsibility I am talking about.. even if you two made a mistake.. Your child didn't  did anything wrong .. It deserve and need the love of  both  it's mom  and dad.. so that  it can grow up happily.. Since you two created a soul.. you should rise it well.. The baby have to be happy and it has to be loved.. it deserve it " lily told him in a stern  tone.

Lucas Stared at her with a blank face..

" what.. So now are you going to back off? "she asked

" No.. I.. I will marry her.. but only if she want to.. I will take responsibility for my action.. but I can't force her at the same time.. "he told back.

felix and lily was surprised at his reply then they slowly smiled at him.

"if this was your decision.. Thank you.. You two go outside now I want to be alone with my daughter "

she pushed felix and lucas out and closed the door. They saw helena and cabel standing in the counter and guessed they were paying for bills. Felix stared at lucas.

" lucas.. Are you sure about this..? You said you don't want to force athy.. Just like that you don't have to force yourself... even though lily was mad now.. She will understand if I explain your situation to  her.. I don't want athy or you spending your whole life half heartedly .. If you two don't want to just don't do it.. I can raise my granddaughter well like I did with my daughter  "

felix said with a concerned face. Lucas stared at him with a surprised face and let out a chuckle .

"you and  your wife  are more softer than I thought.. Your whole family is strange.... Strangely kind.. And thank you for concerning about me.. But I am not forcing myself.. Don't you know me..? I won't do anything I don't like.. even if I was forced.. I just.." he stopped talking and let out a big sigh.

"I was just worried about her.." he said looking down.. Felix gave  him a satisfied smile..

"don't worry she will be happy.." felix said smiling. Lucas gave a 'are you crazy?' look to him and he chuckled.

"no I am saying the truth.. She won't hate the child or abort it.. She will love it with all her heart.. And  for the reason why .. You will know in the future"

he said smiling at him. Cabel and helly heared thier convo.

"see..you didn't beleived me.. Now see for yourself.. Lu was really  a  nice guy.. He was cold only on the  outside." cabel told helly and she gave a apologetic smile to cabel  for not believing him.. She turned towards lucas and smiled at him. 'God... thank you for giving such a gentleman for athy' she thought and smiled satisfied.

Lily Sat in the corner of the bed and caressed athy's face.

'diana.. I am sorry I think I didn't take good care of your daughter.. I don't know what to do but I surely will never let her suffer like I promised you..'

she thought as she was caressing athy's head. Athy slowly opened her eyes and saw lily looking at her with worried face. She slowly Sat up and lily helped her. She looked around and sighed.

"oh come on.. I just fainted.. May be I was tired.. why did you bring me to hospital for this..?"

she whined sitting up and smiled at her but her smile faded when she saw lily looked serious and sad.

"what happened ?"

she asked holding lily's hand and Caressing it

"athy.. You are pregnant"

lily said in a calm and serious tone.. Athy's hand stopped from caressing lily's hand she was frozen from the news she heared just now.. She looked up at lily after sometime straight in eyes.

"really..? Am I..? "

she asked in a low tone and lily  nodded her head caressing her hand. Athy gave a small smile to lily.

"lily.. Can I be alone for sometime?"

she asked in a low voice. Lily nodded her head , slowly got up and went outside to see lucas standing beside the door leaning in the wall with his hands in his pocket. Cabel and helena was sitting beside him on chairs. Felix was talking with the doc about something. He stood straight when he saw lily and stared at her.

" she woke up and she is fine.. You guys can go back home.. Cabel please drop helly to her house safely.. Lucas you can go back I will call you later"

she said in a calm Tone

"well.. Then.. We  will get going will come tomorrow.. bye guys" helly  said.

Cabel and helly got up and waved to them and went towards the entrance. Lily looked at lucas.

"I will stay here"

he said in a low voice and lily nodded her head and walk past him towards felix. Lucas waited outside the room for some time and then looked inside the room and saw her standing in front of the window  leaning her head on her hand laid on the window looking outside.

He closed his eyes and let out a sigh he  walked inside. She turned  back after hearing footsteps and saw lucas standing in front of her with a expressionless face.

There was a silence.. They stared at each other. She slowly give him a smile and Sat back in the bed and patted the place  beside her signalling him to sit. He slowly walked towards her and Sat on the bed. They looked at the moon through the window silently.

"I am sorry"

lucas said in a low tone slowly breaking the silence.. his eyes fixed on the moon.

"you are at it again.. Didn't I tell you not to apologise..?" she said back.

"are you okay..? How do you feel?" lucas asked her .

"hmm..i am good.. And how I feel...?.. I am happy"

she said to him still looking at the moon smiling. He was surprised by her reply 'felix was right but why..?' He thought and turned to look at her and saw her smiling looking  at the moon.

"you are really weird.. Aren't you supposed to be in panic or in   shock or anything like that..? why are you smiling instead ?"

he asked confused.

" because I am  happy."

she said in a calm voice. She turned look at him staring at her totally confused and chuckled.

" I sounds  crazy right? .. Actually when lily told me I am pregnant I was really  shocked cause I didn't expected it at all.. But.. Then.. After  being alone for some time  thinking about it..right now  I didn't feel sad, mad or anxious at all  .."

she said looking up at  him straight in the eyes.

" why..? "

he asked still confused.

" my mom died while giving birth to me.. And lily was my mom's best friend she raised me  like her own daughter since then .. But I  don't call  her mom cause I never wants to forget the one who gave birth to me by sacrificing her  life.. So it always feel like I was lonely even though I had people to take care of me.. I love lily  and felix but I always feel  sorry for them..

I  often thought.. would their life have been different  if they didn't have to take care me..?  I thought They would have spent more time together and be more happier so I came  out of house  as soon as I grow up to the stage I can live alone..I love them so much.. They are  the   only ones   I have.. but.. at the same time.. I sometimes feel distant from them.. I don't know why.. But..  It was always like that I will often feel sorry and it will make me feel distant from Them. Now it feels like I will have someone I can call  mine.. Isn't that a thing to be happy about? "

she told him with a smile.

Lucas stared at her wide eyed in surprise.' a person she can call her' s .. Why I didn't realised it sooner..? Even though she is  always cheerful she is feeling  lonely inside.. We are same on that .. The only  difference is  she is  trying  to avoid the loneliness and I am accepting it and living with it.. 'he thought and smiled at her patting her head.

"I see.. then I don't have to feel sorry anymore"

he said in a soft voice which made her feel like She was melting.

"hmm.. I am so happy and amused.."

She grabbed his hand which is   patting her head and placed it on her stomach  , he flinched and looked at her surprised.

"isn't it amazing..? There is  a small baby here .. I feel really happy.. I don't even know what child it is  but I already want to see it..hehe "

she said beaming in delight like a child. He smiled looking at her beaming smile . He turned his hand around  and grabbed her hand which is holding his  and intertwined their fingers.

" what do you want me to do? "

he asked in a soft voice. She stared  at him for a while..

" I see.. Did lily scold  you  and told to take responsibility...? Haah.. Lily... Don't mind what she said lucas.. do whatever you want.. I will convince her later.. I won't force you .. You don't have to feel sorry or guilty.. I won't blame you instead  I will thank you for giving me this baby"

she said smiling and he blushed hearing the last line.

"sia.."

hearing her name called like this only by him, in his his soft voice stirred something inside her ..

"I am not asking because lily told me to.. I am asking because I was curious"

"about what?" she asked tilting her head

"will you marry me..?"

her face turned red..  heart skipped a beat after hearing what he said.

"huh?"

"I  am asking cause I am curious about  what will you say if I ask  you this.. I am not good at talking  sweet words or  Make you laugh, comforting you.. I don't know anything about Love..being a husband or parent.. having a  family.. ..and I  had  never  thought about them  before .. The only thing I know I love was music.. so I don't know anything about loving a person  or having  a family.. Since I didn't have one... But... I will try my best... To take care of you and our child.. So shall we get married..? "

he asked looking straight in her eyes in a soft and sincere tone.

She was so surprised and tears pooled up   in her eyes. 'I never expected this coming from him... I was simply happy that I can have someone as my own family... But... Even though he is   saying he  don't know anything about love.. He  is  wiling to marry me for our baby..? I have this doubt from the start.. Why does he  act so  caring towards me..? And now at  our child when me and this child is  an   unfortunate accident  happened to him.. ? I really sometimes can't understand  lucas.. 'she thought and gave him a wholehearted smile.
