Chapter 7

'thank God she was not sad.. I was really worried how she will react but just like as always she amused me.. She was really weird.. She didn't panicked or shouted in shock but smiled truly happy..

I felt relieved after seeing her smile.. But is everything happening now is good.?   There is always sometimes like this when we feel   doubtful even if things are going smooth.. I felt like that at that time.. Like lily said I have to take responsibility but I doubt I can do it well.. Family.. I don't even know how it feels..

But I suddenly got a desire to feel how will it  feel.. Having a wife.. Going home after work to see your family at the end of the day doing things together...

When I think about them  I got a sudden greed to have her with me all the time.. If she is always with me will I don't feel that emptiness anymore..? I really want to know.. I get back to my senses when she called my name.

"lucas... Are you okay with marrying me..?

" huh..? "

" I am asking are you really okay..? marrying me may won't be a good thing for you lucas.. You may find your soulmate and  your true happiness in the future.. So  Let's do it this way .. If you find someone you love later you can always leave us and of course you can see our child whenever you want.. I won't forbid you from that.. It will be good in  this way don't you think? "she said smiling.

Lucas got upset hearing that and sighed in frustration.

"  like I said.. I don't even know anything about love.. So that will never gonna happen but if what you said will happen to yourself.. I am not sure I can let you leave like you are telling me to do .. I am not  as good natured and selfless as you.. So i doubt it.. If you marry me.. you are stuck with me forever.. So think about it carefully and tell me... if you don't want to.. I won't force you.. but I am telling you this beforehand.. I won't let you leave once you marry me.. "

he told her looking  straight at her eyes, his  sharp and sincere gaze was like evidence that  he was serious  . He  got up and left the room pissed off.

Athy become a rival to tomato.. Her face was fully flushed and she was so surprised that  she can't utter a single word back..

'ju.. Just now... What did he said..?.. I know he was straight forward.. But.. That was too much for my heart.. It was almost like a love confession .. God!! He is really confusing me so Much today... Baby.. Why your daddy is making a mess out of my heart..? Isn't he so unfair. '

she thought caressing her stomach. She leaned on her bed  and let out a sigh calming herself down still thinking about what he said.

Lucas walked towards the washroom.. He washed his face several times and looked at the mirror supporting  his hands on the sink corners panting  ..' why  the hell did I   tell her that..? 

What she will be thinking now..?  I must have gone crazy for real this time.. Or may be too shocked to think straight.. But when she told me  to go away from her if  I found  some other girl.. It pissed  me off like no other things ..

Eventhough  I don't know why..  I want to stay with her all the time.. She was the first person who made me feel like this.. How can she say something like that to me so easily ..? If others heared  it they may think of her as an  angel..

But I really don't like how selfless she was.. Can't she be just a little more selfish..?  she can't... But I am.. I don't want her to leave me... I am getting selfish when it comes to her.. I am going crazy because of her .. Haah.. '

he let out a big sigh and ruffled his back locks which dripped water from the ends.

' let's just don't expect anything.. And accept what she say that was all I can do now.. '

he thought and left the washroom and walked slowly towards the front of the door to the room  where she was.. and Felix was sitting there and lily seemed to enter the room again. Felix stood up

"lucas since athy is awake now let's get going.. Here.. go and start the car I will bring them"

he said handing the car key. Lucas slowly nodded his head grabbing the car  key  and walked dilly dally towards the entrance.

Felix entered the room and after some time they entered the car and thier ride back home was silent.. Lucas looked at  athy through the front mirror and she was half awake leaning over lily's shoulder.

They arrived at athy's house. Lucas gave felix his keys and bowed to lily and she gave a light smile. He looked towards athy to see her still looking down.. He smiled a bit sad and said bye to felix and started walking towards his car parked a few steps ahead of her house.

When he was about to open the door athy grabbed his sleeve . He turned around and saw her standing there looking down holding on to his sleeve . There was silence..

'it was awkward to see her standing silently..'he thought

"did I upset you before.. when we talked about marraige.. ?" she asked in a low voice.

"hmm... You are... I got upset when you told me to leave when I find some other girl.. It was like  you don't want me around you and want to get rid of me .. But I am sorry for yelling at you.. My emotions got the best of  me at that moment"

he said . She was surprised to hear that.

"I... I am.. Sorry.. I didn't mean it like that.. I.. I don't want to  be a burden you.. I..it just.. I feel like.. You deserve to  better.. I am not perfect and.. I also don't know if I can love anyone with all my heart anymore other than someone I thought as my own .. I was afraid that I would become  a burden for you.. And if I did become one.. I will really feel very sad .. "

she said looking down.. Lucas didn't said anything.

" then.. I.. I will get going lucas... "she said and turned back started walking.

Suddenly he grabbed her hand and yanked her towards him.

" since we both don't know.. Should we try it..? "

" love..? "

she asked in a low tone. He nodded his head as a yes.

" what it feels to have family..? How it feels to be loved..?  I don't know anything about it.. but  now.. I want to know how it all  feels"

he said looking at her eyes like he was searching for his answers in them . They stared at each other's eyes... There was silence. Seeing athy was deep in thoughts he decided to leave.

"you should go inside it's cold outside and too late already   "

he said slowly letting her hand down. She snapped our of her daze and looked up  at him.

"but... I won't marry you.."

she said in a serious tone crossing her hands  and he suddenly felt something prickling his heart. He stared at her with an expressionless face and was about to say something but she interrupted him...

"unless you propose to me properly.. Who will propose sitting in the hospital bed..?" she said pouting.

He was surprised hearing that and he felt like warmness is overhwleming all over his body..

"I see.. My mistake.. Then all I have to do is propose to you properly again.." he smirked.

"you are so confident I will marry you huh..?"

she asked in a teasing tone. He went closer to her almost only inch apart.. She flinched at how he is so close suddenly and her heart skipped a beat.. He leaned forward

"of course I definitely will make you. Mine "

he whispered in a deep low voice in her ear. Her face went beet red  hearing that and  he smirked at her reaction.

"then I will get going.. Good night... choco cake.. "

he said walking back to his car waving her bye.

She stood there blushed...seeing him driving away.

' I told him not to call me that.. He said he don't know how to love but he surely know how to flirt.. That handsome jerk and his devil voice.. My poor heart..' she thought standing there pouting.

He looked at her standing crossing her hands looking at his car . '

I can tell she was standing there  pouting..pfft...so cute'.

he thought and giggled.

He went back to his home..he was sharing an apartment  with cabel. He flopped in the sofa tired from long drive. Cabel came out of his room and Sat on the sofa beside him.

"what happened?"

he asked lucas with a concerned and curious  face.

"she told me to propose properly"

lucas mumbled closing his eyes with his head leaning on the sofa facing the ceiling.

"huh..? What are you saying.. speak loudly" cabel asked.

He Sat up straight and looked at him.

"I asked her to marry me.. She told me to propose properly."

lucas said and cabel started laughing.

"I see.. She is right.. You should put some effort luu.. Helly told me while we are returning from the hospital that athy was proposed countless times even from she was in kindergarten.."

he said smiling at lucas. Lucas got pissed at what he said.

"what..?  Are you serious..? Even from kindergarten..?" he asked raising one of his eyebrows.

"yep.. That's how   famous she was.. Seriously.. what is there for you to surprise..?  She look like a goddess descended from heaven.. who will not like her?.. Well.. What's  more  surprising for me  was she never accepted any and dated anyone until Now.."

cabel said supporting his face with his palm. Lucas slightly smiled  hearing that.

" wow.. Now that I think about it you are such a lucky jerk aren't you..?  To get a dream Girl of many boys "

cabel  said gasping  in  a animated way. Lucas sighed and went to his room and closed the door. He Sat in the chair near the window and looked outside..

'may be I am lucky..'

he thought and smiled. He suddenly got up from the chair and rushed towards cabel. Cabel looked at him confused.

"what.. What do you want..?" he asked

"cabel.. Did helena told you how did  the boys proposed her..?"

he asked with a serious face.

' what..? is this why he is walking fast towards me with serious face.. I thought he is gonna hit me.. God.. This guy' cabel  thought and sighed.

"well.. She said most of them  confessed   in grand manner  some did simply but athy hated it the most if it was in  public place and in grand manner.. I think you should go with simple one and in private.."

cabel shrugged and lucas nodded deep in thoughts.

'simple.. And private huh.. That's just like her.. She always become happy at simple things.. What should I do..?' he went back to his room thinking about it.

'what's up with him.. Walking back like zombie.. He changed so much after his vacation should I try taking one too?' cabel thought.

Lucas thought  about that for a long time and he finally   came up with an idea and went to sleep with a peaceful face.

Next morning cabel saw lucas came out of his room all  dressed and  smirked at him.

" luu.. Fighting  Come  back  with good news"

cabel said with his fist folded. Lucas gave him a small  smile  and waved him bye as he went towards the door. Cabel stand there looking at him smiling. Time flew and it's already evening.

Athy entered her home and flipped in her sofa tiredly. Helly called her

"hii helly"

"hii athy.. What did lily say.. I was so curious yesterday but I don't know how I ended up sleeping."

"lily told me she want me to marry lucas and live as a family and rise my child.. Yesterday she didn't left to her house and stayed with me.. today morning she took me to her house.. She talked..talked and talked.. She told me everything about pregnancy and booked  an appointment to gynaecologist tomorrow and  she was really so worried  and wanted me to  stay with her until I marry lucas.. It got all. Of my energy to cunvunce her I  am okay " she said and sighed.

" I see.. That's how she was always.. And what about lucas.. What did he said..? You know what.. I am more curious about him than your mom hehe"

She blushed rewinding the memories of thier talk.

"hello.. Athy..?" she snapped out of it at helly calling her name.

"yeah.. He asked me to marry him and I told him to propose properly not in hospital bed.. And he agreed and after that.. he still didn't called back" she said.

"woah.. Really..? I badly want to see your proposal when he do  but I guess I should give you privacy.. Don't you dare forget to call me after that and tell me everything okay..?"

"yeah.. Yeah.. Okay"

athy giggled. She cut the call and went to take a shower.. She used her favourite rose essence oil for her bath and enjoyed her time relaxing in the tub.. She changed into a biege  oversized sweater which slid down over one of her shoulder.

She dried her hair and was about to enter the kitchen ... But

Ding dong

The calling bell sound Made her walk towards the front door.
