Chapter 16

06:28, 3 April 2018

She knows what I think about, and what I think aboutOne love, two mouths, one love, one houseNo shirt, no blouse, just us, you'll find outNothing that I wouldn't wanna tell you about, noWell it's too cold for you here and nowSo let me hold both your handsIn the holes of my sweater

Home sweet home. No it wasn't sweet at all, but it was home. Mama understood why I wanted and needed to come back.

First, I've really been slacking off on my assignments. And second, to keep my relationship with Nadia drama free.

Now I could see why Nadia was so curious. I mean I was the only one who stayed in the suite with Janet. Plus, I was her masseuse, a lot of touching.

Now that I think about it Janet never really let me give her a massage but once. Most of the time she just let me enjoy the traveling.

She never even bothered me or seemed to care about it.

Why though?

I'll never know now.

"Are you sure you want to go back to school full time," June asked.

"Yes mama I'm sure. I've put my work off for long enough, and I think it'll be fun going on campus and meeting new people," I replied as I wrote down a summary of the video notes my professor sent me.

"Okay babygirl. You know I support your every decision, but what made you leave? You were making more than the average masseuse," Mama June questioned watching her daughter's facial expressions and body movement.

She knew something was up, and she was going to find out.

I looked up from my notes looking at my mother.

I sighed, "I left because I was slacking off in my work. I lost sight of what I really needed to be doing. I set a goal for myself and I need to reach it. No money is worth more than those kids."

"Okay I understand. Are you hungry? I could whip you up something before I leave," Mama June smiled letting it go.

For now at least.

"I'm fine mama. I need to catch up a lot on this work," I replied.

I honestly didn't want to be bothered.

Guessing she caught that I wanted to be alone she kissed my forehead and said goodbye.

Mama June knew something was wrong with her daughter. She never refused her cooking, and her daughter never made up lame excuses to avoid a situation or conversation.

Mama June wanted her daughter to confide in her like she did all her life. She wanted April to know that she could talk to her about anything, and that meant any and everything under the sun. Her daughter had slowly but surely changed into someone who internalized alot.

But only if Mama June knew what was up with her daughter she would absolutely understand her strange behavior. But for now she would give her daughter all the space she wanted. She hoped April would come to her sooner or later.
