Chapter 6

We walked outside and towards the guarden in silence.  I was following Yui as we exited to the outside, which ended up being the perfect night for it.  I watched as Yui took a deep breath, and breathed in the fresh air.  She took a stretch, reaching her arms up in the air, then plopped them at her sides. "Such a beautiful day out here. Don't you think Skylar?" she asked, as I nodded. "Yeah" I replied as she turned around.  I took a look around, seeing the moon shinning in the sky above the yard. The white glow brightened up the sky, shining down on the Mukami mantion.  The mantion shined a dark tan shadow in the moonlight.  The driveway was a dark greyish color, which led up to the manton. The flowers were not smelling as fresh now that it was night, but I could still smell the sent of them.  I stood there as Yui sighed and started to walk through the guarden.  She knelt by the roses as she picked up a petal, and put it towards her mouth in thought. I started to be curious of her, and how she ended up here. "So, how do you know the Mukami's, other than being the Eve before me, whatever that means" I said, confused about it.  Yui looked at me as she shook her head.  "That's it. Just another Eve to them, but they seem to be more intrested in you.  It's like they care about you more than an Eve" she said, as she looked at me. I sighed as I thought to myself.  I thought about being back at that place, and the way that they watched me when they came up to my cell

Flashback

I was lying in my cell, looking limp as I sat on the floor.  I was in need of blood again, but they couldn't bring me any at this point.  I was pretty much dead, and their was nothing I could do, unless I was  sold as a slave.  I heard movement walking by my cell, as a vampire with blond hair looked at me in shock.  He tapped the blue haired vampire behind him to get his attention.  "Ruki, I think something's wrong with her" the blond hair vampire said.  The blue haired vamp looked at me, as they were joined by two others.  One with long brown hair, and the other with short green hair.  They watched me as they talked amongst themselves.  "She doesn't look good" one of the voices said, as they called up the guard.  "How can I help you" the guard said, in a positive tone.

Eventually, I was led to this room where the family that was crowding me sat.  I sat in the chair in front of them, as the guard left the room and shut the door. "Hi" the vampire with the blue hair said, as it grabbed my attention.  I looked up seeing the family that was hounding my cage, sitting in front of me on a couch. "How long have you been here" he asked as I spoke.  "Since I was five" I said with no care at all. "What are your thoughts about  getting out of here?" he asked, as I shook my head. "I don't have any" I said, with all hope lost at this point.  "I'm just about going to die."  I was starting to pass out at this point, as the family got the gard and they talked.  "Alright, let's get you out of here" the guard said as he got me ready and led me to the family, that ended up being the Mukami's.

End of flashback

I looked down at the plants as I continued to talk to myself.  I examined the flowers as Yui went silent and looked at the plants.  She picked up a flower that fell out of the bush, as she smelt it. She closed her eyes in the process as she sighed.  "Smells pretty.  Don't you think Skylar?" she said, as she turned to me.  She watched me for a few minutes, confused of what I was doing. "Skylar, something wrong?" she asked, as I continued to look at them in thought.  "They saved my life" I said, ignoring the question all together.  Yui cocked her head to the side, as she spoke in confusion. "What are you talking about? Are you thinking of the shelter?" she asked, as I looked up, almost in full blown tears. I looked at her, as I tried not to cry.  "They saved my life.  I was at that place, and I was just about to die. But the Mukami's took me out of there.  Their keeping me alive.  I'm not going to die" I said, more to myself then her. Yui looked at me in confusion as she watched  me.  "What are you talking about?  What happened at the shelter?" she asked, still confused.  

I rolled to sit, having my back face the plants.  I sighed as I thought about what happened since I came here.  They feeding me proper food.  Not taking blood from me, not yet. Helping me clean up, and taking care of my cuts.  I looked down at my wrists, as I looked at my bandages, seeing them white, and not full of blood.  "Maybe they don't want me for my blood" I said to myself, but Yui's voice pulled my attention towards her.  "They probably want your blood, and making you think that" she said, as I looked at her.  I watched her in confusion as I spoke. "How can you say that. Ever since I've been here, they helped me out majorly with my wonds and my life. They said that I'll eventully attend school with all of you" I said, as Yui stopped me and spoke for herself. "That's what they wanted you to think.  They're just waiting until your healthy to feed off of.  They're making it seem like they care about your story, but all they care about is your blood, Skylar" she said, not trying to yell.  She looked back at the house, as I watched her in confusion.  I didn't understand what she was trying to get me to think, but I wasn't buying it.  Not yet.  

Yui huffed as she looked around, and studied at the wooods behind the guarden.  "We need to get out of here.  Come on" she said, as she grabbed my wrist and started to pull me into the woods.  I trailed behind her, as I looked back in confusion. I didn't feel like this was the brightest thing to do. I stopped as I slipped my hand out of hers and stood there.  Yui turned around as she looked at me.  "What's wrong? Skylar we need to leave" she said, as I went to speak, but the wind brushed in front of us, before I could say anything. When the wind died, I spoke. "Why are we leaving?  What would happen if we stayed?" I asked, as she looked at me bugged eyed. "Skylar. I was Eve before you as Ruki told you earlier.  They want to become Adam, and they need our blood to do it. They don't care about your past.  All they want is your blood" she yelled as I narrored my eyes at her. "The Mukami's took me out of that place and saved my life. I was weak when I came here, and not once have they took blood.  The only time they even tasted my blood, is when I was still bleeding from my cuts" I said, more as a yell to her.  Yui looked at me in shock as she spoke in confusion. "What? What are you talking about?" she asked, as I huffed.  I rolled up my sleeve and showed her the bandage around my wristis, which had blood peeking through the final layer.  I sighed as I looked at it. "Man, I need them changed again" I said, as I looked at the bangage, trying to find the end.

Yui didn't buy my bangage. "That could be a trick.  They could've did that to you and tell you lies" she said, stil not believing my story.  I looked at her as I yelled. "Do you think I'll lie to you? You don't believe me, do you?" I yelled, feeling tears run down my face, thinking of the time they wrapped my wrist up.  Yui walked up to me as she spoke. "Skylar. They might have you think that they care, but the truth is that they don't.  They only care about your blood and that's it" she said, as the wind brushed through the both of us.  It wasn't a natural wind, so I knew it was one of the vampires.  I heard someone laugh but I didn't recognize the voice.  "Well, I see you girls aren't getting along. Now how is that?" a voice asked as Laito walked up to us, looking back and forth between Yui and I. Yui gasped as she grabbed my bad wrist, and ran. I flinched as I kept my breath steady, being pulled by Yui.  "Yu..i" I flinched, as the pain of my cuts rushed up my arm.  I felt the blood thicken through the bangage, as Yui stopped and let go.  She looked at her hand, as it was covered in the dark red blood, almost making her hand look like it was covered in black goo. Yui gasped as she looked at me. "You weren't lying" she said, believing me now.

A shadow casted over Yui as Ayato spoke. "Yui, why you bleeding? It's making me thirsty" he said, as he licked his fangs.  Laito looked from Ayato and Yui, then to me and my wrist.  "I don't think she's the one bleeding" he said, as he walked up to me.  He grabbed my wrist, looking at the cuts, as they bled.  He started to come closer, as I heard Yui whince.  I looked over, as Yui was being bit by Ayato.  I gasped as a tear poured down my cheek, seeing her in pain.  I felt the heavy bandages come off, and drop to my knees. I looked over at Laito as he examined my wrist. "No wonder you smelt so good" he said, as he brought my wrist to his mouth and he licked it.  He cleaned the cut, but it still was dripping with blood.  Laito licked it a second time, as he cracked a smile. "Wow, slave blood is better than a regular human" he said, as he inhaled and dug his fangs right into my cut.  I screamed in pain, as I started to feel weaker by the minute.   I pushed him off me, as I backed up quickly.  I fell to my knees as I held my wrist, feeling the blood drip through my fingers.  Laito laughed as he looked up at me. He licked my blood off his bottom lip as he spoke. "That was really good, can I have some more?" he asked as he knelt down next to me.  

"I don't feel good" I said, as he grabbd my wrist, and bit into it again.  He pulled back as he looked at Ayato. "You should try some of this" he told his younger brother, as I heard footsteps walk to the other side of me. I felt someone hit my back, as I was placed lying on Ayato lap, my head on his legs.  I sighed as I looked at him, feeling weaker.  I felt a hand lift my leg up, as Laito bit me again, and started to drink my blood.  Ayato brought my wrist up to his face, as he smiled. "Is it true that slaves are better than other humans?" he asked, as he licked my wrist.  He slid his face down, as he inhaled and bit into my arm, as he drank himself.  He released my wrist as he looked down at me. "It's true. Your blood is better than a regular human" he said as he inhaled before bitting my again.  I found some strength, as I tugged myself away from the two of them, and got up to run.  Ayato grabbed my wrist, as he yanked me back down in the same position.  "Now, now. You be good and stay put.  This is how you slaves should be treated" he said, as he bit into my arm again.  "YUI!" I screamed as I whinced in pain, starting to feel weaker.  I felt Laito bite into my leg again, as they continued.  Yui ran towards the house as fast as she could, I didn't know if she was getting help at all.

I cracked my eyes open as Laito spoke. "Maybe Reiji would want us to take her too" he said to Ayato, as he went back to feeding.  Laito did the same, as I sat there and almost passed out. "I think you should leave" a new voice spoke, as it made Ayato and Laito stop drinking.  The two of them looked in the direction of the voice, as Ruki stood there, looking at them with anger.  I cracked my eyes open, as I started to feel weaker and almost passing out. "Why should we listen to you?  Your not feeding off her" Ayato said as Laito nodded in agreement.  Ruki nodded to look at me. "Just look at her, she's weak and barely can stand.  I don't want any fangs into her" he said, as Reiji appeared behind him. "Ayato, Laito. We're going home. Come on" he said, as the two dropped me, but Ruki stopped my head from hitting the cement. I looked at Ruki as he watched me, and I started to fall asleep of the blood loss.  "Skylar, they'll will never do this again" he said, as I fell into a deep sleep, not knowing what would happen.

Insight of the Sakamaki's

The Sakamaki's all got home at a decent time.  Shu returned to lie on the couch in the back of the room. Reiji sat on the couch in the middle of the room, as he poured himself a cup of tea.  Ayato took his chair, which was next to the couch.  Laito took the one that was opposite to Ayato, on the other side of the table. Kanato stood in front of the table, as he clenched Teddy to his chest, and Subaru stood against the back wall, with his arms crossed.  The room was silent as Reiji spoke. "So Ayato, Laito.  You had a taste of Skylar's blood? How was it?" he asked, as Ayato smiled and closed his eyes. "I think we should've made Yui work harder.  It was better than Yui's" he said, with a smile on his face.  Laito looked up as he licked his upper lip, in the remembrance of the sweet blood. "I agree. Maybe you could use her to experiment with, Reiji" he said, as Reiji looked at him, then closed his eyes. "I am looking for a new experiment, and if you think her blood is better than Yui's, then we'll take Skylar next time we see her.  But we should let her heal up and attend school before we do anything" he said, as Shu cracked a smile in the  back. "We should monitor how she reacts at school.  Then take her when the Mukami's least expect it.  But the question then would be, where to hide Skylar once she's over here" he said, not even opening a eye, or taking out a ear bud.

The room fell silent as Kanato spoke. "We could always put her with my dolls.  Maybe that would get her to stay here without a fight" he said, as Reiji sighed. "First I think we should not put her down there, and just watch her reaction, and how she takes things.  That will be a plan b though" he said, as he took another sip of his tea.  A little sleeplessly noise came from Shu. "We should wait and only be around her in school, then slowly working up towards this plan.  Just see what she'll do around us next.  Plus, the Mukami's will be on her more than ever. So if we did try something now, they'll be prepared."  Reiji pushed up his glasses as he spoke next. "And the Mukami's will be where the problem is.  They'll be on her more, now that she's been bitten by one of us. We'll be lucky if we could even go near her."  The room fell silent, as Ayato sat back in his chair. "Why are they so protective about a slave? Really, she was weak. Is that how humans should be treated?" he asked, as Reiji shot his head up. "Unless she's Eve" he said, deep in thought.  Laito smiled as he looked up. "Oh no, he's getting an idea" he said, as Reiji nodded. "Yes. Meeting dismissed for now, I need to be in the lab at the moment" he said, as he left the room.

Reiji went into the lab, as he rummaged through the chemicals, looking for the right ones.  "Ahh ha" he said, as he pulled out some of the bottles, and put them on his lab table.  He went into the back room to find a plain beaker, as he walked back out to find Shu standing there, with his ear buds in, and his arms crossed. "So, what's the plan now?" he asked his younger brother, as Reiji continued to do his thing.  "I am making a potion, that'll look and taste like blood.  If I gave it to the Mukami's, they'll forget about Skylar. If we give them each this when we take her, they'll never know."  Shu peeked his eyes open as he looked at Reiji.  "So they'll won't even remember who Skylar is, just in case she goes back?"  Reiji nodded, as he went to pouring the chemicals to mix them.  Shu popped the ear bud back into his ear, as he left Reiji to do what he was planning to do.
