17:32, 15 June 2025Piper knocked on Naomi's front door and waited for an answer.
The door quickly opened and Naomi stood. Baggy shorts and a tank. Her face looked tired and her hair was covering her face a little.
"Are you okay?" Piper asked as she laughed a little, walking inside.
Naomi took her arm softly as she closed over the door.
"I'm fine, I just have a monster of a headache. Do you feel okay?" She then looped their arms together.
"I'm fine. I only had two drinks though..." Piper nodded.
"Hm. I did have a few, then a few beers after...ugh. I'm trying to keep my distance from my mom and dad..."
"Where are they?" Piper looked around.
"Out in the backyard, firing up the barbeque. The smell is making me feel a little sick." Naomi cleared her throat and watched as Piper giggled at her.
"My own fault, okay. Hey, guess what?" Naomi stopped them both half way between the kitchen and the front door before she looked around. "I invited Namjoon." She then giggled.
Piper thought for a second before it hit her.
"Oh, Yoongi's friend? Does he know?" Piper asked.
"No. Unless Namjoon told him, which he probably did but Yoongi's not said anything yet." Naomi smirked as she shrugged.
"...Is he downstairs?" Piper casually asked.
"Yoongi? Nah he went out a while ago, he should be on his way back. I think he went out to pick up some groceries too but..." Naomi shrugged before she walked them both into the kitchen.
"Ugh, I really need to lie down." She complained a little as she held two fingers to her head.
"Hey Piper!" A voice made the girls whirl around.
"Hello!" Piper automatically spoke out as she saw Naomi's mom walk into the kitchen from the back door.
"How are you honey?"
"Good thanks!" Piper nodded.
"That's good. Have you heard from your brother yet? We're not going to be waiting on him all day."
Naomi plastered a fake smile on her face as she nodded. "I'll give him a call mom." She then sighed and watched as her mom left into the backyard again.
Naomi pulled her phone from the back pocket of her shorts before she quickly pressed the screen and held it up to her mouth.
After a few rings, it went silent.
"What?" A deep voice grumbled down the line which made Piper smile.
"Are you nearly home yet? Mom's asking for you..." Naomi sighed.
"I'm on my way back. Did you really ask Namjoon over?" He then asked.Piper and Naomi both looked at each other with wide eyes as they tried to contain their laughter.
"Huh? Oh, yeah you don't mind do you?" Naomi asked.
The line went silent for a brief moment before a low chuckle was heard.
"It wouldn't stop you anyway, Mimi." He told her.
"Ugh, don't start that. Especially when he's here." Naomi widened her eyes at Piper.
"Why you embarrassed? You think I would embarrass you, dear little sister?" Yoongi asked.
"Dude, will you just hurry up and get home. There's only so many pain killers I can take in front of mom and dad, and I have to get ready. I can't leave Piper with them..."
The line silent again.
"Piper's there now?" He asked.
"Mhm, now hurry up!" Naomi sighed. With a mumble of a reply, the line then hung up and Naomi scoffed. "So rude." She shook her head, looking at Piper.
"What did Namjoon say? I can't believe you got his number last night." Piper smirked as she leaned on the kitchen island.
"Well, what can I say? He seems cool, I thought he was nice and he's...pretty darn cute." Naomi then giggled. "He was talking to me like I was an actual human being..."
Piper frowned with confusion. "Isn't that normal?"
"Like, engaging in actual conversation. He was asking me questions, about me and where I see myself after high school. He was just really engaging, I don't know, it sounds weird and I can't really explain it, but...it was different from the shit you hear from the guys at school. He seems really smart." Naomi nodded.
Piper nodded as she listened before she shrugged with a smile.
"Well, I wish you well." She laughed with Naomi as she heard the front door scrape open.
She turned her head to see Yoongi walk in, and close the door with his foot as he held a cup holder in his hand. He glanced up towards the kitchen as he pushed his sunglasses up onto the top of his head. Piper swallowed as she got those typical butterflies. He had a baggy white t shirt on with black sweatpants and his dirtied up converse.
"Finally, what took you so long - oh my, what do we owe this pleasure?!" Naomi gasped once she saw Yoongi holding the coffee cups in his hand.
With a straight face, he turned to her.
"Try and not drown yourself in Tylenol today, mom and dad will notice that. Do it with caffeine instead." He held up the holder as Naomi took a large cup with a frothy looking light brown liquid with caramel drizzle.
"I can't believe you know my coffee order." Naomi admitted.
"I'd hardly call that coffee." He mumbled before he turned to Piper. She looked at the two cups left. One was a milky colour with cold foam and one was a straight black iced americano - that was Yoongi's go to.
"Vanilla with cold foam." Yoongi told Piper as she smiled and lifted the cup.
"See, you can be sincere when you want to be." Naomi smiled as she dramatically patted her brother's shoulder.
"I would've recommended water, but coffee will do. Thank you." Piper smiled as she glanced between the two.
"Enjoy. I'm going to grab the groceries for mom and dad...before Namjoon arrives." Yoongi stood up straight as he side eyed Naomi before he sighed and then wandered off back down the hallway and out the front door.
"He...seems to be taking it better than I assumed. Maybe that's...a sign?" Naomi leaned in and spoke to Piper in a hushed tone.
Piper looked at her and nodded in agreement.
"He seems nice." She admitted.
"Well, I'm off to get ready! Come on up." Naomi grinned.
"Oh you're fine honestly, I'll wait down here and help out where I can." Piper politely declined before she took a sip of her iced coffee.
Naomi narrowed her eyes.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah! Of course, take a shower, take your time - just no more painkillers." Piper widened her eyes and found Naomi laughing at her comment.
"Alright, well you know where I am if my brother get's too annoying." Naomi waved her off as she disappeared upstairs.
