Seven

"Do you want another coke?" Namjoon asked Yoongi as he held onto his empty beer bottle.

"No thanks." Yoongi murmured, but his eyes were superglued to Taehyung and Piper. They had been talking for around 20 minutes, since Taehyung got her another drink. He watched as Piper held the glass by her side.

Namjoon nodded before he widened his eyes and let out a sigh, before he then wandered off, Yoongi shook his head.

"Don't drink it, Piper." He whispered to himself. Taehyung would occasionally run his hand down Piper's arm when they would laugh together. He then leaned in towards her and pointed to the other side of the room. Piper looked at him before glancing towards a door, she then nodded. 

As the two of them disappeared out of the room, Yoongi's jaw locked into place.

"That kitchen is beginning to look like a riot." Namjoon appeared back at Yoongi's side with a fresh bottle before he sighed. "Where did Piper go?" 

"The two of them just left, out there." Yoongi sighed as he glanced around before looking at Namjoon.

Namjoon laughed a little as he shook his head.

"You're pretty dense sometimes dude." He patted his hand down onto Yoongi's shoulder, earning a slight frown. "Go get her!" Namjoon told him off. 

Yoongi thought for a moment before he nodded. "Come on." He grabbed onto Namjoon's jacket, as he was about to take a sip of his drink. The bottle barely touched his lips before he was halted forward, as he tried to keep up. When they passed the beer pong table, Naomi was too engrossed with other people and the game to notice them.

Namjoon quickly stopped. "Hey man!" He then pulled Yoongi's jacket, bringing him to a halt.

"I know...off limits and your rules but you wouldn't mind me talking to Naomi?" He pointed his thumb toward her with a hopeful look in his eyes.

Yoongi chuckled as he shook his head. "Keep her safe." He then fist bumped him before he turned around on his heels and headed right for the door.

"So is college life a little different to high school or is it mostly the same?" Piper asked as she sat down on a bench. It was inside what it seemed to be a conservatory with the backyard just outside. 

Taehyung sat down beside her and thought for a moment.

"Honestly, it's similar. Classes, work, but I guess you do have a little more freedom. You explore the campus and aren't restricted on a daily basis, you meet a ton of new people and...experience new things." He grinned.

"Hm." Piper nodded as she looked around. They weren't alone, they were a few people around them. 

"Have you thought about what you want to major in?" Taehyung asked her, leaning in a little closer.

"Oh. Um, I want to study English." She moved her head back a little as she strained a polite smile.

Taehyung nodded, yet turned his face away for a moment as if he wasn't interested. 

"Thinking about a location or sticking around here?" He turned to her again.

"I'm not sure to be honest. I'll have to try and compare the best ones for myself." Piper nodded, shrugging a little. 

"Good thing about here if you end up sticking around, you already know someone to show you around." He told her, pointing to himself. Piper looked at him and gave him an awkward chuckle as she nodded.

Piper zoned out as he began to talk again, as she turned her face away to look at the other people around them. 

Just then a firm hand slapped down onto Taehyung's shoulder, making both him and Piper jump. She looked up to see Yoongi leaning over the bench, the front pieces of his hair were hanging over his eyes as he gave a grin.

"I think your times up for this evening Tae. Best head off eh?" He patted Taehyung shoulder. 

"Oh we're just getting to know each other - " Taehyung defended as he stood up.

"Walk away." Yoongi sternly told him as Piper watched. His tone was serious, but his face said otherwise as he kept a polite looking smile present. 

Taehyung glanced down at Piper before he sighed. "I guess it was nice to see you." He bluntly told her before he walked off. Piper couldn't help it, but she scoffed before she started to laugh a little.

"Charming. Guess he's not too happy." She looked up at Yoongi.

"I couldn't give a shit." He told her as he sat down beside her. 

"He'll go off and find something else, Naomi or - " 

"Namjoon's with her." Nathan nodded.

"Ah. So we do have babysitters tonight." She joked with him quietly. He smirked at her as he shook his head.

"Oh, more like...bodyguards." Piper nodded.

"Don't push it." Yoongi chuckled, as he sat back a little and sniffed. "I'm not going to apologize for wanting to protect you girls...especially at places like this." He quietly told her. 

Piper nodded. "It's okay. Thank you." She shrugged as she still kept hold of a glass in her hand.

"How do you know him? Is he in your classes?" She asked.

"Hm, no. I see him around, but he majors in being an asshole." He nodded at her which made her laugh.

 She noticed Yoongi staring at her hand before he cleared his throat. 

"I didn't drink any of it." Piper held the glass over to him with a smile.

"Good girl." He nodded but his face dropped just as fast as Piper's stomach.

"That uh - I didn't mean to say that...like that." Yoongi sat up straight, his pale complexion was starting to turn a little pink in colour.

Piper swallowed as she giggled a little. "Don't worry about it, I get what you mean..." She bit down on her bottle lip. 

Yoongi sighed as he took the glass from her and threw the contents of it into the large plant pot beside him. He sat the glass on the ground before leaning his head forward and running both hands through his hair to the back of his neck.

"Are you okay?" Piper asked him quietly as she watched him.

He raised his head a little and looked straight a head as he licked his bottom lip before letting out a sigh. 

"I'm exhausted." He chuckled a little as he glanced over at her. "I don't want to be that guy or that brother that's watching every move you or Mimi makes. You're both entitled to experience things for yourselves." 

"You have that right with Mimi..." Piper nodded.

"I care about you too much, shorty." He looked right at her. 

Piper stared at him, frozen on the spot for a moment. She managed to raise her hand as she sat it onto his shoulder as she sighed. In an instant he sat up and held out his arms wide and invited her in.

Piper smiled as she wrapped her arms around his waist and hugged him. She felt Yoongi's arm grip her tight around her shoulders as he rested his chin on the top of her head. 

"I'm not mad about it though, I like it when you're around." She told him, as she stopped her breathing for a moment to see his reaction. 

She felt him sigh, before a deep chuckle escaped his lips. He ran his hand over the back of her head but didn't budge from their embrace. 

"I like it when you're around too." He then told her. Piper's cheeks beamed as she hid a wide smile.
