Part 26

Those words, I wish the ground would swallow me now. How bold I was to tell him what I feel? I was too weak and rush and overstating. What is wrong with me?

But it all melted away when Bucky reached for my face again and crashed his lips to mine. It was so fast that I didn't realize that I was already throwing my arms around his neck as I clung to his weight.

Oh, Bucky.

"Took me so long on waiting just to hear that" he chuckled before kissing me again. I just smiled and feel the cloud-nine moment. It's just surreal which I could tell that I'm just dreaming. He broke our lips apart and rested his forehead with mine, heaving breaths to collect some oxygen.

"I'm sorry......" I started but he cut me off.

"Hayley, you are the best thing that ever happened to me the moment they've found me almost dead on the ice. I was brainwashed and trained to kill people. They took everything away from me, but you....... you took them back for me"

"Bucky" I whispered.

"I wasn't sure, when I saved you from the grocery, there's something in my head that I should kill those guys and save you...... And from this day, if not tomorrow, I'm gonna tell you that I love you too.... I really do, Hayley" he brushed some hair away from my face.

"Bucky" I was out of words and all I could say is his name. My heart is thumping so loud I could even hear it.

"I was desperate to know my forgotten memories. I was at Smithsonian once, and yes I saw myself in there, but it didn't bring back the whole. It's just something to do with the accuracy of what should I remember. Until you came, you empowered me. You gave everything of what I need not only my memories, but also giving yourself for me. You gave up everything just to be here by my side"

Through his words, I could feel the real Bucky Barnes and not the lost one. If they forbid me to love him more than he deserves then, I probably risk whatever it takes just to have him in my life.

"I did those because I knew it from the start that you need me. You seemed lost and you needed to be sheltered. Bucky, despite of having my own troubles, you definitely make it fixed even without doing so. So much when you already holding me"

I came up standing as he did it too. Wrapping my arms around him, he put his arms around me and started swaying our bodies as if we are dancing again. And I was a little bit shocked when he's humming a song. I'm melting.

"Stay with me" he whispered.

I nodded and snuggled closer.

"I'm always here for you, Bucky. I promise"
