Chapter 13: 𝐹𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑠 𝑜𝑟..?

It was Tuesday at 4:30 am, Mikasa couldn't sleep, she kept thinking what would have happened if she didn't break up with Eren, she wondered if Eren was awake so she crawled out of bed and looked outside her window.The lights we're still on, she stepped out her window and started walking on the tree branch, she sat down in the middle of the tree, enough space for two people to sit.

She stared at the glistening moon, the only light there was, the sound of the wind was like music to her ears, along with the animals that scurried along the street. She admired everything until she looked at a bench, it came out of nowhere, there was a boy sitting there, snow falling around the boy only, and a patch of light beaming on the bench, butterflies surrounding the boy, she was confused, she couldn't understand what was going on, she was startled by the light in Eren's room turn off, she looked at the window and faced the bench again only to see it was gone.

She was creeped out, she headed back to her room, switched off her lights and tried her best to fall asleep and successfully did.

~𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑒𝑠𝑘𝑖𝑝~

Mikasa woke up to the sound of the tv downstairs, she guessed Levi was home, she crawled out of bed and went to the bathroom, she brushed her teeth and picked out some clothes, she picked out some black sweatpants, white croptop that had Juzo Suzuya on it and a black jacket and black snow boots, she put them on her dresser and took off her clothes and entered the shower. After a couple of minutes she stepped out, dried herself and wore her outfit. This time she let her hair drop and she brushed it a bit before grabbing her bookbag and science homework, she made her bed and went down the stairs.

"𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐢"-Mikasa greeted her uncle"𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠"-levi greeted back with a tired voice while grabbing the keys

Mikasa noticed Levi seemed tired."𝐈𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈'𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐡𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐲, 𝐢'𝐥𝐥 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐮𝐲 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐮𝐜𝐤 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥"-She said while stepping out

Levi nodded and went back to watching tv.

Mikasa stepped out of the house and looked at her right to see Eren outside of his house aswell.

They looked at eachother for a good minute, they stopped looking and started walking, Eren took his car since he had already gotten his driver's license and Mikasa was going to her driving test next week.

She sighed and started walkingThe snow was very light even though it was March, after 30 minutes of walking, she made it to school and she didn't even break a sweat. She woke up quite early so she made it around 7:32 am. She walked inside the hallway and noticed Eren and that girl she saw yesterday talking to each other. She was fine with it until Eren had kissed the girl, Mikasa was trying her best to hold back the tears, she walked away quickly and entered the library, she sat at her usual spot and sighed.She noticed the book she picked out yesterday: To you, 2000 years from now.She picked it up and decided to read it this time since she didn't get the chance to yesterday she opened it to the second page and there was a boy and a girl on a bench, with a patch of light shining down on them, with butterflies and snow... it was just like what she saw this morning, she flipped to the next page and the rest of the pages we're blank, the book didn't even have a cover, no author, no illustrator just the title. She took the book and put it in her bag, she left the library. She walked around with her head still in the book trying to figure out what the picture meant, she then bumped into a group of people, she fell to the ground and the book fell out of her grasp, she looked up and saw 11 people staring at her, it was her ex-friends. "𝐒𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲"-Mikasa apologized and picked up the book that fell and tried to excuse herself but they we're still blocking her."𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐈 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞?"-Mikasa asked

Historia came up to Mikasa and hugged her. Mikasa was taken aback by the hug."𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐚𝐚𝐚𝐚, 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞?"-Historia asked still hugging Mikasa"𝐈 𝐝-𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝"-Mikasa said Ymir rolled her eyes"𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐝 𝐮𝐬 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐭, 𝐰𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲"-Ymir said while taking Historia off of Mikasa

"𝐈 𝐝𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭?"-Mikasa asked"𝐘𝐞𝐚 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨"-Eren said while holding hands with Vera.

Mikasa took notice and sighed"𝐒𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐈 𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐈 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐮𝐲𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐛𝐞 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐨 𝐈"-Mikasa was cut off my Annie

"𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭, 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧'𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐨𝐭"-Annie said

Vera pitched in"𝐖𝐚𝐢𝐭, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐫𝐞𝐧.. 𝐰𝐞'𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠?"-Vera asked clearly jealous

Mikasa kept her mouth shut and looked at the ground

"𝐊𝐞𝐲𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝, "𝐰𝐞'𝐫𝐞"."-Eren saidMikasa noddedVera calmed down and smiled at MikasaMikasa didn't know what to do so she just stood there.The bell rang indicating registration had started."𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐲𝐚 𝐈 𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐬"-Mikasa said while putting the book in her bag and walked passed them and headed to her homeroom.~𝑇𝑖𝑚𝑒𝑠𝑘𝑖𝑝~It was fourth period and Mikasa had spent lunch with her friends for the first time in a while and they we're on good terms except Eren and Mikasa. There was still some tension between them so they didn't talk much.

Mikasa and Eren we're staring out the window admiring what they could see, they saw the bench again, Eren saw the girl and Mikasa saw the boy, they didn't know they could both see this, they we're brought back to reality when Ms.Hange caught them.

"𝐈 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝"-Ms.Hange said sternly

The two looked at eachother in confusion.

Ms.Hange sighed"𝐈 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐝𝐮𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐭𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐢𝐭?"-Ms.Hange said staring at them, she looked hella creepy with her big ol' glasses.

The two teenagers we're quite annoyed when they got paired together, now they had to figure out which house they would work at.

The bell rang and everyone stood up and headed to their last class which was Art.

Eren was having trouble with the shading, his drawing was amazing but the shading?... well not so much. Mikasa noticed this and took his sketchpad, she showed him how to do the shadingAs she was teaching him, he admired her features, everything about her was amazing except for one thing."𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞, 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨 𝐢𝐭"-Mikasa said while giving Eren his sketchpad

He didn't even say thank you and Mikasa sighed.

Time went by and everyone was heading home.

Mikasa was walking home when she saw Eren pull up in his driveway, she walked over to him and when he got out, the first thing he saw was Mikasa Ackerman standing right there shivering.

"𝐒𝐨 𝐦𝐲 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬?"-Mikasa asked

"𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐞, 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧"-Eren said while walking towards the entramce with Mikasa close behind him.

They entered and Mikasa admired his house, it was quite nice.

Eren went upstairs and Mikasa followed

As Mikasa entered Eren's room, it was very neat and organised, Eren sat on his bed and Mikasa just stood there not knowing that to do.

"𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐢𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧"-Eren said while patting the bed

Mikasa nodded and sat down

Eren removed the sweater he was wearing and he was wearing a tank top which showed his eight-pack.

Mikasa was befuddled, how could someome have an eight-pack, there was a faint blush on her cheeks and Eren took notice and rolled his eyes.

"𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨?"-Eren asked and sat down at his desk

Mikasa shrugged"𝐀𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐈 𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐬"-Mikasa said

"𝐀𝐥𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, 𝐥𝐞𝐭'𝐬 𝐝𝐨 𝐚...𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐡 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐧𝐨𝐭."-Eren started doing the research while Mikasa worked on the poster.They lost track of time and it was already 8pm, they had finished the project even thought they had a whole week to do it.

"𝐖𝐨𝐰, 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲?"-Eren said

Mikasa shrugged

"𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥, 𝐢'𝐥𝐥 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐲 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭."-Mikasa said

Eren shrugged

They stared at each other for a few seconds before Mikasa broke the silence."𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐈 𝐮𝐡𝐦 𝐈'𝐥𝐥 𝐠-𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐨𝐰"-Miaksa said while picking up her bookbag

"𝐎𝐡 𝐲𝐞𝐚 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐟𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞"-Eren said while scratching his nape

Mikasa left his house and tried entering her house but the door was locked and Levi wasn't home and she couldn't use her window because you could only open it from the inside.

She walked back to Eren's house and knocked on the door.

After a few seconds, Eren opened the door

"𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐚?"

"𝐌𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐲 𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐈..?"-𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐚 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐜𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐛𝐲 𝐄𝐫𝐞𝐧

"𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧"-𝐄𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐧𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲

Miaksa stepped in and Eren went to the kitchen

"𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠?"-Eren asked Mikasa

Mikasa shook her head no

Eren shrugged and went upstairs leaving Mikasa by herself.

An hour passed and Eren was on his phone in his room when he started to smell smoke.

He ran downstairs and saw Mikasa trying to cook something.

"𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐫𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧?!"-Eren asked/yelled

"𝐈'𝐦 𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲 *𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡* 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐦- *𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡* 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲-𝐲𝐨𝐮 *𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡* 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐛𝐚𝐝, 𝐈'𝐦 𝐬𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲"-Mikasa said while coughing

Eren smiled at the nice gesture and put the fire out

"𝐈'𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭."-Eren said

Mikasa nodded

Eren started showing Mikasa how to cook the noodles but Mikasa was doing everything wrong.

"𝐎𝐡 𝐦𝐲 𝐠𝐨𝐬𝐡, 𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐚 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐠𝐞𝐞𝐳"-Eren grabbed Mikasa's hands and pulled her over to the living room

"𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐢𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈'𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫."-Eren said still holding Mikasa's hands

𝗘𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗢𝗩

I just couldn't let go of her hands, they we're so soft and they felt so fragile, I kept staring at Mikasa's inky eyes, they we're a beautiful shade of black, Mikasa started closing the gap between us and I didn't move back, I too started to lean in and we we're a centimeter apart from our lips coming in contact until the smoke alarm went off. We both jumped back and we just awkwardly stood there.

I sighed

"𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤, 𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐬𝐨 𝐈 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐟 𝐰𝐞 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬"-I said

I could see the hurt in her eyes but I just couldn't cheat on Vera, I 𝐝𝐨 like Vera.

"𝐘𝐞𝐚 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐮𝐡𝐦 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, 𝐈 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐦𝐲 𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐬𝐨 𝐈'𝐥𝐥 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠"-Mikasa said while picking up her stuff

"𝐨𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭, 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐈'𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮"-Mikasa said in an awkward voice and ran out the door

I knew she was hurt, Mikasa never laughs, I sighed and went to stop the alarm.

I made my dinner and as I was eating it I got a message from Mikasa, I imediately stopped eating and checked her message.

It said

𝑀𝑖𝑘𝑎❤️: 𝐹𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑠 𝑖𝑠 𝑜𝑘 𝐼 𝑔𝑢𝑒𝑠𝑠

I smiled to myself and continued eating.
