Chapter 12: 𝐹𝑖𝑛𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑠𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑛𝑒𝑤

Its been a week since Mikasa ended things with Eren and her whole "friend" group has been ignoring her, guessing Eren had told them what happened between them.

Mikasa didn't know why she was so sad about the breakup knowing she was the one that broke it up and they had only been dating for a month, it shouldn't have been a big deal but Mikasa couldn't help but feel guilty.

It was Tuesday afternoon and Mikasa was sitting by herself once again at 'her' table, I guess you could say that.She was eating a sandwich and noticed that her "friends" kept taking glances at Mikasa, it annoyed Mikasa so much that she dropped her sandwich on her plate, stood up and walked over to the table Eren and the other we're sitting at.They we're startled by her presence but tried to play it cool. Eren got a message on his phone so he stood up and walked out of the cafeteria before Mikasa had arrived."𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐞, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐚𝐲 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞, 𝐬𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐞, 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐬𝐨 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐲!"-She yelled at them causing other students to turn their head to the commotion.Mikasa couldn't care less and walked away from the table, picked up her bag and stormed out of the cafeteria.She tried to find a place where only her would be, by herself for the rest of lunch time. She went behind the school and saw a bench in the corner but before she took another step, she noticed two figures, one had veridiscent eyes, chocolate brown hair who she recognised as Eren and the other figure was a.. girl. She had long brown hair, gunmetal grey eyes, thin lips and a nice body shape.. she was gorgeous. She and Eren we're hugging and smiling.Mikasa didn't know what she felt, it was something she hadn't felt in a long time, she kept thinking until *𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔*Mikasa felt jealousy.She couldnt believe it, before Eren could see her, the bell rang and she walked away.𝗘𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗢𝗩I was eating in the cafeteria minding my business until I got a message, it was from an unknown number, it said to meet them outside behind the school, I got up and walked passed an angry Mikasa but I couldn't care less, we are over aren't we?I turned around the corner behind the school and saw a girl, twiddling her thumbs, she looked just like someone I knew, I then remembered."𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐚?.."-I askedShe looked up and I knew it was her for a fact, I dropped my phone and ran up to her and hugged her like never before, we stayed hugging for a few minutes, I could feel someone watching us but I shrugged it off.The bell rang and I broke up the hug, I smiled and she smiled, her smile was amazing, her bright white teeth, her hair flowing in the wind, she looked just as pretty when she was still a child.She playfully punched me in the arm."𝐇𝐞𝐲! 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫?"-I said while rubbing my hurt armShe laughed and hugged me again"𝐈 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮"-She said"𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐈 𝐭-𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐎𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐰𝐚 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞?"-I asked still smiling"𝐘𝐞𝐚 𝐈 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐦𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐝 𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐣𝐨𝐛 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞, 𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐬𝐨 𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐞, 𝐰𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐈 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐫, 𝐈 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠!"-Vera said and hugged me almost sqeezing the life out of me "𝐈 𝐜-𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐕"-I managed to say"𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲!"-She let go and scratched the back of her nape, awkwardly smiling."𝐒𝐨 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞?"-I askedShe nodded"𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥?"-I asked, eager to know her answer"𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐰"-She giggled"𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞?!"-I asked/yelledShe nodded againSame old V, always likes using actions to express herselfI remembered that the bell had rang a few minutes ago and I panicked"𝐈𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐫𝐞𝐧?"-She asked with concern written all over her faceI smiled at her"𝐍𝐚𝐡 𝐈 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐈'𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰."-I said as I walked away, picking up the phone I had dropped and walked to class.I got my books and it was fourth period and I had Math, just great, I missed 5 mins of math and now I am gonna be a confused doughnut.

I walked in class and was immediately stopped by Ms.Reiss."𝐀𝐡𝐞𝐦, 𝐄𝐫𝐞𝐧, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝?"-Mr.Reiss askedEveryone had their eyes on except Mikasa who just kept staring at the window"𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐤?"-I said, almost sounding like a question, I didn't know why I was nervous, I 𝐰𝐚𝐬 telling the truth. Mr.Reiss nodded and I sat down at an empty seat, I could see Daniel talking with Mikasa and I couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy.He turned to me and smirked'Whats his problem?'- I thoughtI averted my attention towards the window and I saw how cloudy the sky was, I could hear the sound of birds chirping, I could see the squirrels running about and the butterflies perched on a bench, the white snowflakes descending,  it was the perfect scenery. Despite the fog there seemed to be a patch of light beaming down on the bench, there was a girl, sitting on the bench, staring into the distance.

I admired the setting before focusing on the math questions set on the board before me.'𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 ℎ𝑒𝑐𝑘 𝑖𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠?'-I thoughtI looked back outside the window and the girl was gone, I had only looked away for a few seconds, the light had disappeared and there was no more snowflakes, I was befuddled, where could the girl have gone? I shrugged it off and focused my attention in class.

My friends and I decided to go bowling and I decided to bring along Vera to introduce her to my friends.Vera and I walked to the bowling place since it wasn't too far away. A few minutes later and we made it, I saw my friends waiting for me I'm guessing, I walked up to them and greeted them.They looked up, about to greet me back until they laid their eyes the girl standing, they all looked at me confused.I sighed."𝐆𝐮𝐲𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐚, 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤, 𝐬𝐡𝐞'𝐬 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝."-I said

They calmed down and said hey to her and we made our way to the bowling alley. We decided to split eachother in teams, I was going to get Vera on my team no matter what because Vera was amazing at bowling. The teams we're decided. It was: Connie, Sasha, Ymir,Annie,Vera and I against Jean, Historia, Armin, bertholdt and Reiner.

We played and played until Vera went last for my team, we we're on the edges of our seats to see if we would win or not because the loser has to buy the winner anything they want.She rolled the bowling ball and it continued to roll until it hit the pins, it knocked them down and left one wobbling but it finnaly fell. My winning team yelled in victory while the losing team were sulking. Sasha and Connie we're doing their little victory dance and Annie and Ymir we're teasing the losing team.

We all decided to hang out at the mall before we would head home, Connie and Sasha we're running around the mall looking for a maid outfit for some reason. Annie was on her phone with Reiner and Bertholdt, Armin was with me and Vera and Jean went home already, guessing he's still sad about Marco's death, I mean we all are but we can't keep mourning. I sighed and Vera grabbed my hand for some reason. I could feel heat rising up in my cheeks, she noticed and gripped my hand harder and she kissed me on the cheek and at this moment I was as red as a tomato. "𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐝 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐈 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐮𝐩 𝐄𝐫𝐞𝐧, 𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰"-She said as she looked down in embarrassment. She looked adorable. I stopped in my tracks and hugged her and gave her a thank you kiss on her hair."𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝐈 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭."-I said as I let her go. Now we we're both blushing."𝐨𝐨𝐨𝐨𝐡𝐡, 𝐄𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐝"-Ymir said as she smirkedI glared at her and she walked away with her Historia.

"𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐨 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞."-Vera said"𝐈-𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭!"-I immediately saidShe giggled and noddedWe said bye to everyone and started our journey to her house, we finally made it and she gave me a kiss this time on the lips and ran up to her steps and entered her house.I.Was.Completely.Frozen.I snapped out of it and made my way home which was right beside Mikasa's house.I entered and ran upstairs to my room, I started changing into some comfortable clothes and looked to my side and my window curtains we're open and Mikasa was there, her hair in a messy bun and she was wearing a onesie while doing some homework. 𝑐𝑢𝑡𝑒.I realised I was staring for too long and Mikasa looked up and saw me, heat rose up to her cheeks and she fell off her chair, I looked down and I was shirtless, just pants, I quickly put on a shirt and slid my window open. Mikasa got up and rubbed her eyes and looked back at me with her usual cold face. "𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭"-She askedI was about so laugh but I remembered that we weren't dating anymore, nor we're we friends anymore, I had a serious face on and I built up the courage to ask her for my scarf."𝐈 𝐮𝐡, 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐲 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐟 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰, 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧'𝐭 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞"-I said while looking downI looked up, she was wearing the crimson red scarf, she finally learned how to wrap it I guess, I felt a pang of guilt after I asked her for the scarf back.She looked down at the scarf, she sighed, she unwrapped the scarf and held it firmly in her hands before stepping out her window and carefully walking on the branches of the tree between our houses, she made it to my window, she kneeled down and handed me my scarf, I didn't even bother to say thank you, I took the scarf and slammed my window shut, she stumbled due to the breeze and almost fell, she regained her balance and walked back to her window, she jumped in back in her room and she too closed her window shut.I put the scarf back in the box.

"𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐞.."-I mutteredIt was around 8pm so I decided to do some homework before going to bed, I changed into some nightwear and jumped in my bed, I switched the lights off and dozed off.
