Chapter 14: 𝑇𝑟𝑢𝑒 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒

It has been a three weeks since Mikasa and Eren we're assigned with their project, they aced it.Mikasa was on her way to school, she was in the passengers seat and was talking with Levi.

Mikasa later arrived at school at around 7:51 am. She was walking in the hallway and bumped into Eren.

Eren and Mikasa started talking again but what happened at Eren's house was a bit awkward but they tried to forget about it and move on.Eren was quite happy in his relationship with Vera and Mikasa started hanging out with Daniel and they've really bonded. Jean was still upset about Marco's death but he still had other friends to cheer him up. Sasha and Connie started to have a crush on each other, Armin and Annie started to hang out a lot more, just the two of them and Armin was getting ready to confess to Annie. Bertholdt still had his crush on Annie, Ymir and Historia had nothing new about them, Reiner still wanted to get with Historia and Vera.. well Vera was just there. She got along with everyone including Mikasa. Everything was quite alright.

"𝐒𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐄𝐫𝐞𝐧"-Mikasa said

"𝐍𝐚𝐡 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭"-Eren told her

There was silence between them until Vera came in and grabbed Eren's hand, interlocking their fingers.

"𝐇𝐞𝐲 𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐚, 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠?"-Vera asked with a huge smile on her face but Mikasa could see the jealousy in her eyes.

𝗘𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗢𝗩

"𝐈𝐦 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝐈 𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐬"-Mikasa immediately responded and walked away until I grabbed her hand

"𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐚 𝐰𝐞'𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐝-𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞?"-I mentally facepalmed, why was I stuttering so much, its not like we're dating anymore, shes just my friend.

Mikasa shook her head no

"𝐒𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲, 𝐜𝐚𝐧'𝐭, 𝐈'𝐦 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐥 𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲"-Mikasa said trying to free her hand but my grip got stronger.

I didn't know why I felt so much jealousy.I let go of her hand and nodded

"𝐀𝐥𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧"-I said and smiled before walking with Vera

Everyone was in class and half of them weren't paying attention, Mikasa included.

She kept thinking about Daniel

𝐷𝑖𝑑 𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒 ℎ𝑖𝑚?

𝐷𝑖𝑑 𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑛𝑜𝑡?

𝑊𝑎𝑠 𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑖𝑛 𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑖𝑎𝑙?

𝑂𝑟... 𝑑𝑖𝑑 𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑗𝑢𝑠𝑡 𝑤𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝐸𝑟𝑒𝑛?..

Mikasa's thoughts we're interrupted by Daniel himself

"𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐚?"-Daniel asked

Mikasa was taken aback by the nickname, only her dad,mom, her four dead friends and Eren had called her that, it didn't feel right when Daniel said it.

"𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐚... 𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐚!"-Daniel said while waving his hands in front of Mikasa's face

"𝐨-𝐨𝐡 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐚𝐲?"-Mikasa said coming back to her senses

"𝐈 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐭"

"𝐮𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐈 𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐬."-Mikasa said while opening her textbook

"𝐎𝐡 𝐨𝐤, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬"-Daniel said while smiling

Mikasa nodded her head

𝗘𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗢𝗩

Today was Vera's birthday, I had my present for her in my bag, it was Mikasa's scarf, well.. the scarf my mom knitted for me.

After realising Mikasa wasn't the one, I had taken the scarf back, I really like Vera and I think she is the one for me.

Red was her favoruite colour anyway so this had to be the best gift for her.

I hid the scarf behind my back and tried to find Vera.

I kept looking until I found her in the library, looking for book I suppose.

I smiled.

I walked up to her and tapped her on her shoulder.

"𝐇𝐞𝐲 𝐕-𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚.."-I said while stuttering

"𝐎𝐡 𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐄𝐫𝐞𝐧"-Vera said with a huge smile on her face

"𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐚, 𝐈 𝐮𝐡 𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐠𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮"-I said

Vera's eyes widened

"𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐄𝐫𝐞𝐧, 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐭?!"-Vera asked excitedly

I pulled out the scarf behind me and Vera gave an appreciative smile, I smiled back.

"𝐀 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐟, 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐄𝐫𝐞𝐧."-Vera said while hugging me

Something didn't feel right, I gave her a forced smile and she seemed to had fallen for it.

Stepping closer to Vera, I unwrapped the scarf and just as I was about to wrap it around her neck, I stopped dead in my tracks.

My thoughts we're interrupted by a heavy sigh.

Vera was looking down at the ground, her hands holding mine, I could see she was heartbroken, I hurt her feelings.

She looked up into my emerald eyes, and I looked straight into her grey eyes, her face tear-stained.

"𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐚 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮?"-She said giving me a sad smile.

I shook my head a bit

She smiled even more, pain in her eyes.

"𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐫𝐞𝐧, 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐦𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐡𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝... 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐚."-She said

I looked down, I admit it, I love Mikasa and I've been too clueless to understand that. "𝐈 𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐢𝐭, 𝐈 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐚𝐭 𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐚, 𝐈 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐈 𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐫."-Vera said while taking the scarf from my hands.She wrapped the scarf around my neck and pulled on the ends of it, bringing me closer until our lips touched.Her lips we're salty due to her tears, knowing that this would be the last kiss I cherished it. The kiss lasted for like an eternity until Vera broke it.

"𝐆𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥"-Vera said and put the scarf in my hands, she gave me hug and whispered in my ear

"𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐫𝐞𝐧, 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐈 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐬𝐡𝐞'𝐬 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮"-She broke the hug aswell

I stared at her for a few seconds before smiling and running off to find Mikasa, I packed my bag and ran down the hallways, the hallway was empty, the last bell had rang 5 minutes ago so everyone would be on their way home.I ran outside and was about to yell Mikasa's name until I saw her.Her enthralling black eyes, her long jet black hair, her pale yet soft skin and her soft light pink lips.... that we're against someone else's.....

𝑆ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑘𝑖𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑫𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒆𝒍.

I stared at them, my heart shattered.

𝑊𝑎𝑠 𝑠ℎ𝑒 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑟 𝑚𝑒?𝐼 𝑛𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟 ℎ𝑎𝑑 𝑎 𝑐ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑑𝑖𝑑 𝐼?𝑆ℎ𝑒 𝑓𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑑 𝑠𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑒𝑙𝑠𝑒.𝑆𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝐼 𝑛𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑛 𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒𝑑.

I left the scene, I kept walking with all these thoughts in my head not even paying attention to the honking cars.I heard a screech, a screech from a car tire, I looked up but before I could even understand what was going on, everything went black.
