her negotiations

10:35, 19 December 2024

The morning after receiving the legal papers olivia called Trevor and asked to meet. That afternoon she drove her black mustang to his office building and made her way in and up the elevator to his office. The secretary let her in and Trevor shook her hand. "Its nice to see you again olivia." He said since this was not the first time he was asked to be a lawyer for her.

"I wish I could say the same but..." she mumbled.

"Yes I know. I have been looking over a copy of the document and I have spoken to William lewis lawyer, they are pursuing rights and visitation." Trevor sighed as he sat and olivia took a seat across from him.

"I can't put myself through the trauma of seeing him all the time and I don't want him to have any contact with my daughter." She said stroking her swell as her baby moved alot again. "He will destroy her like he's...tried to do to me." She hesitantly spoke.

"Well olivia you know as well as I do that it is possible he could get supervised visitation." He continued.

"Yes and it scares the crap out of me. I learned I was a product of rape when I was only 12 years old and it has loomed over me my whole life. I don't want to have to explain that to my child until I feel she is ready to handle it. I also don't want her subjected to the kind of trauma I have been through with Lewis." She stated.

"Listen I'm on your side here olivia and I will help you do all we can to stop him from haveing any rights over this child but I also have to warn you it won't be easy and I can't guarantee what a judge will rule." He said.

"I just want to get this over with. I'm due to deliver with in the next month or so. I can't bare to watch him even touch my daughter." She breathed holding back her emotions as best she could.

He nodded "alright well, first things first, we will need people to testify on your behalf and testify to Lewis violence and crimes. Of course the judge will see his conviction but we need to also show a history that he has hurt others in a similar manner."

"The detectives and captain of my squad can do both those things." She said running a hand through her chestnut brown hair.

"Yes but friends or family would help with this also." He suggested.

I only have a half brother and I haven't seen him in years. And to be honest my squad are also my friends I don't have any outside of my job." She said realizing how pathetic that sounded.

He nodded "ok well then we will have to work with that."

They continued thier conversation and olivia filled out a bit of paperwork. It was a few hours before she finally left his office and drove home. While driving she thought about her car as well and knew she would need a new one. She loved her mustang but being a mother meant trading it in for a more family friendly vehicle, so olivia made her way to a car lot and discussed options with a car dealer would showed her a few of thier best models. She finally settled on a black Honda cr-v. She finished the paperwork and the financing agreement and left before she tried to change her mind. She sighed with a small smile knowing she'd miss the days of her mustang midlife crisis car.

Once home she decided to start painting the nursery like she had tried to do the night before. She painted the room a pale pink which went well with the round crib and other furniture she had gotten.

That night as she sipped her tea standing in the doorway of the nursery she looked in and sighed hopeing her baby would have a happy life and never have to meet the man who helped bring her in to this world in such a violent way. As her mind wandered again she felt herself second guessing her choices but as she felt the baby kick hars yet again she knew she'd do anything for the little life growing inside her as she stroked her swell to calm the active child.
