a christmas surprise

The next month and a half went by slowly. Olivia found herself in and out of family court with Lewis over rights and visitation for the baby girl that would arrive soon enough.

After several testimonials from the squad and a couple news reporter friends for olivia, and a few prison guards and prison doctor who had been tricked in to thinking lewis was a decent guy, the judge finally made a ruling. The judge declared that william lewis would have minimal parental rights and supervised visitation twice a year with the child and stated that in one year they would go over it again and decide if the arrangements should change.

Olivia was horrified by the verdict and hated that once her child was born she would be forced to bring her to see William every 6 months.

"How could he let william manipulate him like that?!" Olivia said frustrated as she put her hands over her swell protectively.

"I could have been worse Olivia he could have designated once a month visits. Also this isn't the end. After a year we will fight again to get it changed." Trevor tried to ease her worry.

"Yeah or in a year it could be worse and he could give him more time with her!" She shook her head. Maybe I...I should just move take her out of the country."

"No Olivia that will only work against you." Trevor said.

"Not if I don't come back." Olivia admitted.

"Come on liv you can't just drop everything and everyone and leave." Amanda said.

"I don't want to put my daughter through the horror of being in that monsters life for 18 years." Olivia said looking her friend in the eyes as tears welled in her own.

Trevor shook his head "I will work on a new appeal and get this changed when the reevaluation happens." He said "but you can't do anything rash Olivia.

Olivia knew they were right and the police officer in her stopped her but she just shook her head and left the courthouse upset.

The next week it was Christmas eve morning and olivia was curled on the couch stroking her swell. She was drinking tea to calm the memories but also the pain she had been feeling off and on all night. She didn't call Dr. Harding cause she figured it was early contractions and they were very far apart.

By 10 am the contractions were harder and much more close together and the pain was becoming too much so she finally bit the bullet and called amanda who answered right away.

"Hey liv what's up?" Amanda asked while sitting at her desk at the precinct writing up a new dd5.

"Amanda I'm in labor...ugh..." she groaned as a pain shot through her "i..I hate you ask but can you drive me to the hospital?"

Amanda shot up from her desk and grabbed her coat. "I'll be there asap." Amda said before hanging up. She let the captain know what was going on and he told her to go and keep them all updated. Amanda rushed out and to Olivia's apartment.

Amanda arrived within 10 minutes and ran to the elevator taking it to Olivia's apartment. She knocked on Olivia's door and could hear Olivia stumbling to the door and open it. "Hey. You ready?" Amanda asked as olivia nodded but groaned loudly in pain once again "you got your overnight bag I helped you pack 2 weeks ago?"

"Its in my closet. Get it and please hurry." Olivia grumbled in pain.

Amanda ran and grabbed it and then helped olivia out of the building and to her car. She drove faster then she ever had not wanting olivia to have to give birth in her car.

They arrived at the hospital within 12 minutes and she helped olivia in to a wheel chair and got her inside. The ER was packed with people who had holiday accidents. But amanda finally got a nurses attention when she showed her badge and told her olivia was in labor.

They quickly got olivia in to a birthing room and hooked up to all the monitors.

Olivia groaned in pain as she yelled "I have to push!"

But a nurse piped in and said "please ms. Benson you need to wait until your doctor arrives." She said trying to keep herself and olivia calm with a slightly calm tone.

"I cant!" She groaned loudly again and tried to breath.

"Just squeeze my hand liv." Amanda offered staying by her friends side. Amanda had never had a child but had seen friends give birth so she tried to use that knowledge now.

Dr Harding finally arrived and before anyone knew it olivia was pushing. She could feel the baby tearing through her and she screamed but Dr. Harding said "your doing great olivia one more big push you've got this."

Olivia caught her breath a moment then screamed as she pushed one more time and within a minute heard the crying screams of her daughter.

Amanda hugged Olivia's shoulders. "You did it liv and she's gorgeous. Just like you."
