Chapter 3

He entered the coffee shop again but headed straight towards the counter.

"one iced Americano please.." he ordered and stood there scratching his nape..

'godd.. Why am I so nervous..? I am just giving it a try.. If she already have a boyfriend then I will say bye bye and go.. No ran away.. Yeah.. Let's do this..' he thought as he grabbed his Americano and walked towards them..helena saw him walking towards them and smiled at him

" I have something to say..to her.. " he said pointing at athy..

"okay then.. Go ahead.."

she said as she stood up and walked towards the counter. Athy pleaded her not go with her eyes but she deliberately ignored her friend and walked away . Lucas silently Sat in front of her. She finally mustered up courage and looked at him straight in eyes. The rubies and sapphires are in their own world.. Lucas finally averted his gaze and sighed. Finally breaking the nerve wrecking silence.

" what cable said earlier.." he paused.. She stared at him and he took a sip of his Americano.

"it's a lie.. Actually .. I have a problem to solve.. for that I have to be in a relationship.. Cabel thinks you will be good for that but.. That guy messed up.. While Conveying that to you .."

he said and took another sip gulping down half cup in one go. Athy stared at him silently..

'thank God she didn't ordered any beverages.. What if she poured them on me after hearing me ..?' he thought and gulped.

" I will ask sorry on his behalf "

he slowly added . He looked up and saw a small smile appearing on her face and he felt relieved.

" I see.. It's okay..and.. I will help you.. If you want me to.. " she said and smiled. Lucas eyes wided in surprise

" wh.. What..? You will help me..? "

he asked doubting what he just heared she nodded her head as a yes.

"so.. you are single..?" he asked tilting his head.

"yes I am.. " she said and smiled.

" well... Thanks but I am confused.. Why are you helping me..? you don't even know me ..."

he asked and She talked after few seconds of silence

"because you are honest.. I will also be honest with you.. it's not helping you.. I also want you to do something for me.."

she said. Lucas leaned back on his chair sipping his Americano..staring at her.. But she was distracted by the cute baby which was lying on her mom's lap on the table beside them..

" so.. What Do you want from me..? "

he asked taking another sip..

" cute baby..." she mumbled.

he spit out his Americano as soon as he heared that.. Athy turned towards him and realised what she just told him and her face become red from embarrassment. He looked up wiping his mouth with a tissue .

"I.. I am sorry.. I wasn't saying that to you.. I was just distracted and saw that baby beside us.. And told that accidentally.."

she explained to him panicked ... He stared at her silently then he started chuckling...

" pfft..I lost my wits because of what you said.. "

he said trying to suppress his laugh.. Athy facepalmed herself and he smiled looking at her..

" oii..Baby.. "

he called in a teasing tone.. She glared at him from the gap in her fingers.

" I already said sorry.. Don't call me baby "

she said pouting and he tried hard not to laugh at her.

" ok..then tell me what do you want me to do..? "

he asked coming back to the topic and she Sat straight..

" that is.. I want you to act as my fake boyfriend.. "she said with innocent eyes.

" is that all..? But isn't that already given..? Since I want you to act as my girlfriend.. Is there anything else other than that..? "

" nope.. Only that.. Then we can just do fake dating.. Pretend to be lovers and help out each other okay..?" she asked offering her hand to him smiling brightly.

" OK.. Deal.. " he said and shook her hand.

" lucas.. You are older than me right..? Shall I call you oppa..? "

" just do whatever you want.. If I have to choose.. just calling my name is good "

" OK then..i will call you lucas.."

"fine baby.." he said smirking..

" heyy.. you should be fair.. Call me by my name too " she whined.

"Athanasia... Huh..? Your name is unique.. What it means..?"

"eternal.." she said smiling.

" I see.. Your parents want you to live longer.. that's nice.. "

he said and when he saw a sad smile on her face , he felt the urge to make that disappear

"sia.."

he called her name like that unaware of himself .

'bathump..' her heart skipped a beat after hearing that.

She looked  up at him surprised..

"huh..?"

" athanasia.. It's long.. So I will call you sia.. But I like calling as  baby more" he said with a smirk.

'look at him.. Is he born with that smug face..?  sia huh.. No one called me like that before.. If he wants it short why not athy..?  But.. I like it..' she thought and smiled..

"so.. What do I have to do..?" she asked

"well.. It's a bit long story.. But you  need to know another important thing.. That was.." he paused hesitating scratching his nape looking away..

"tell me.. what is it..?" she asked tilting her head.

"well.. That.. Would you mind if we have to live together..?" he asked hesitating.

"huh.. So we need to be in living together not just fake dating..?"

she asked and he sighed looking down. He slowly nodded his head as a yes.. She was silent for a while..

" I am okay.. But I have one condition.." she said after a moment of silence.

" what is it..? "

" you have to move to my place.. I can't move to yours.. It's.. Kinda difficult.." she said

" of course.. I will ..since I was the one who asked...thanks.. "he said in relieved tone.

" it's ok .. So when are you coming..? She asked

"well.. I am running out of time.. So.. What about tomorrow..? Are you okay with it..?" he asked with hesitation.

" fine..and..."its her turn  to hesitate..

" yes..? "

" may I know what's your profession ..? "

she asked hesitantly . Lucas looked down without saying anything.

" I have to know  because we are gonna living together.. "

she said . Lucas looked up at her, this time not with a smirk but a small smile

"yeah.. you have every rights to knew important things about me .. Since you are taking a risk without knowing anything about me.. Decide if you really want to help me or not after hearing everything OK..? I am  not a fan of deceiving good people so.. "

" I returned to Korea only last week before that  I and cabel used to work as  hackers  in US .. I can say everyone desperately searched for me.. Cause I am a  black hat hacker.. I wanted to quit everything and come  back for a long time.. And when a issue regarding me popped up.. I used that and flee back here .."

he shrugged and paused for a moment deep in thought.. Then he  continued

" we decided to  come back here and  start new.. So to  quit my job I  lied  to my boss..that  I have to go back to my girlfriend .. But that Oldman.. He sent his men to Korea and they are spying on me.. To confirm if what I told them  was true or not.. If they caught I am lying.. I have to go back with them.. I can escape from them  but that guy is a stubborn one.. he won't leave me alone even if I reach the end of the world.. But I don't want to go back.. I am just going to work as a freelancer and rest well.. That's why we came here to the island and not to the  city.. I really like jeju island .. it's peaceful here.. And to continue staying here.. I need your help.. So now.. decide for yourself.. If you want to help me or not...? "he said staring at her.. 

She listened to everything attentively and was silent for a while. She can tell by looking at his eyes he is being  sincere.

" yeah.. I will... "she said smiling.. He stared at her shocked.

" you are really weird you know...I thought you will run away after hearing that "he said smiling at her.

" hmm.. I hear this often.. "she smiled.

" hmm.. So why do you need a fake boyfriend..?  when you can easily get a true one.. "

" I.. I lied to a guy who proposed to me that I already have a boyfriend... First because I don't have any feelings for him but he started pestering me to try dating him so that we can understand each other..

And second.. he is my cousin's fiancé..my cousin started creating a scene whenever she saw me.. saying that I betrayed her and I had no choice but to lie like that to shut her mouth... Since we are always on bad terms since childhood..

And third.. I am not in the state to be in a relationship.. I thought I can escape by lying but..

Now It's quite difficult for me to manage.. Both of them are still pestering me on thier own ways ..  More than anything.. He  started suspecting my words  "she said and sighed.

" hmm.. You must be so tired of them.. OK let's work together and solve our problem.. "he said and she smiled nodding her head.

" haah.. I forgot about my brownie.. "

she grabbed  her fork and took a bite happily forgetting about the guy sitting in front of her.. Being in her own world.. Only her and her brownie..

" do you like brownies..? "

he asked she looked up coming back to the reality that he is still there. he was staring at her with a small smile. She nodded a yes as her landed on  his brownie

" you also like brownie..?"

she asked and he nodded a yes cutting it with his fork into half ..

"here.." he said placing half of his brownie on her plate.. Her eyes sparkled and  he stared  at her.. his lips curved into a small smile ..

" thank you.. Are you okay with Giving me this..? I won't give you mine  even if you ask me.."

she said taking a mouthful and ate happily .. Lucas stared at her and his smile wided a little.

"I also won't give it to anyone.. You are the first one I am sharing .." he said and she looked at him wide eyed.

"really..? Thank you.. but why..?" she asked tilting her head. He stared at her for a while silently

"because you are smiling .. For real.."

he said and she looked at him surprised hearing his last word.

'how did he.. Find out.?' she thought with her eyes wide.

" give me your number.." he said

she took out her phone and they exchanged numbers.. Lucas stared at his phone for a while then his fingers typed something ...

'sia baby..'

He typed then he pressed save with a smirk.

'he is at it again.. What is he doing in his phone..? ' she thought and sighed.

"then I will get going see you tomorrow I will give you a call before coming " he said getting up..

"yeah.. See you tomorrow.. Bye lucas" she said smiling at him.

" bye.. Baby.." he said and left..

"I told him not to call me like that.."

she mumbled pouting  as she got up and saw helena looking at her with a cheesy smile.

"ohhh..!! Baby..?!! Wow..!! Aren't you guys too fast..? Tell me.. Everything without leaving a single word.." she said with curious eyes..

" first sit down helly.."

she said sitting back and told her everything only leaving the baby part.. Cause she was embrassed.

"I see.. So you  guys decided on fake dating huh..? Well... I am glad he is honest...good for you athy you finally found a way to get rid of  those two nuisances.. "

helly said patting her back. athy smiled.

Lucas and cabel went back to  thier hotel room.

" so you told her everything huh..?  Thank goodness.. she agreed.. But I still surprised.. Why did she accepted to everything..? Even after you tell the truth.." cabel asked deep in thoughts.

" she.. May look weird to you.. but  she isn't .. I don't know why.. But she look lifeless .. Like she already give up on caring about herself.. Everytime she smiled.. it was fake except when she ate brownie .. "lucas said in a low voice.

" I see...then you guys are perfect match.. Now I feel guilty.. I was the one who was  wrong for judging her when she was helping us..  I should apologise to her.. "

he mumbled with a sad face.. Then his face looked like he was thinking about something  mischievous and he turned towards lucas and  grinned

" OK..so you have girlfriend now.. a beautiful one at that..You are  even gonna live with her... Wow..!! Good for you jerk.. "

he said as he started packing his things..

" caby.. Where are you gonna stay..? "lucas asked. And cabel gave a mischievous smile..

" hehe.. Helena said she will ask her mom and rent me her rooftop room to me  " he said with a smirk..

" wow..!! look at you... You sly fox..You like that girl don't you.? "lucas asked in a teasing tone..

" hey you are dating a goddess even if it was fake.. Let me also enjoy my youth dude.. "he said blushing and turned away.

" yeah.. Yeah.. Do whatever you want.. " he said smiling at him.

'haah.. It's a relief caby is staying near me.. I get nervous at the thought of staying with her... I think I can sort it out after moving there..' he thought and flopped on his bed.

"so you are gonna give this room to him  ..?"

helena asked as she saw athy cleared her wardrobe and everything and there was a big empty room before her.

"yeah.. Since it's the only room big enough to move the bed from room downstairs  .." she said sitting on her bed.

"yeah.. We can't let him Stay downstairs cause.. my mom and her friends often come to your house.." she said sitting beside her.

" but why did you choose that room...? You can use the big one you know.. It even have working space.." helena asked.

"it's okay.. I won't stay in my room most of the  time.. But he said he was gonna freelance or something.. May be he need more space than me..." athy said and smiled.

" you are too good to everyone athy...my sweet girl.. " helena said hugging her..

Then they talked about how she literally begged her mom to allow cabel stay on rooftop and how shocked her mom was.. when she heard athy has a boyfriend and  he is gonna stay with her.. And they chatted about everything  for a while..

" but athy.. I am still worried  you know..." helena said

"huh.. Why..?"

"it's just that.. I didn't expected that you guys have to cohabitate.. So I am a bit worried.. I do think they are good guys.. But cabel is  staying above me but you two are gonna stay together.. So. Be careful.. Okay..? If you didn't like anything let's just end this fake act.. Everything.. OK..? "

she said in a worried tone.

" OK helly.. don't worry "she said and  smiled hugging her.

'this is exactly why I am worried she is already living like a lifeless doll .. but I am a bit happy that she finally letting someone inside her house and  It also amuse me.. Is he a magician..? How did he made her agree..? Yeah.. I agree his face is like a magic.. So unreally handsome.. Kyaa.. This two are like made for each other.. So perfect ... God please let lucas be a good guy and help this poor girl..I know she is gonna treat him like a housemate that's why she is giving him this  whole room  so that they don't have to meet each other often.. I wish something happen and she open up to someone  and start smiling truly.. it's okay even if it that someone is  lucas.. '

she thought and hugged her tight.
