Chapter 3

Sam and Colby made their way to a local cafe that Colby really loved. They held hands as they walked down the street. Colby was praying they didn't run into any paparazzi. Even though the world was aware that Colby and Brennen had broken things off, they didn't know why and Colby didn't want to have to answer those questions. He also didn't want a specific person to know he had a new boyfriend. Only Colby's roommates knew as of now.

The owner of the cafe knew Colby well and was able to give him a time to go before the actual opening time so that Colby could have some alone time. Colby opened the door to the cafe, leading Sam in. He walked up to the owner behind the counter.

" Hey Colby," she said. " New friend?"

" Boyfriend, actually," said Colby. " But it's kind've on the downlow right now, so if we could keep that between us?"

" Of course," she said. " Would you like your usual?"

" Yes please," said Colby. " What would you like, babe?"

" A horchata please," said Sam.

" Coming right up," she said.

" Thanks Shea," said Colby, as he handed her some money.

Shea nodded to them both and then Colby found a booth for them to sit in. Colby sat across from Sam, holding his hands as Shea brought over their drinks.

Colby chuckled at Sam. " You don't seriously believe in all of that do you?" asked Colby.

" I mean think about it," said Sam. " Everyone has a lucky number. You know, like that number they keep seeing everywhere, in random spots. Mine is 14. I see it everywhere, and you probably have one too."

" I doubt it, but it's cute," said Colby.

Sam rolled his eyes and smiled. " It's not cute, it's legit," said Sam.

" Whatever you say, babe," said Colby, rubbing circles across Sam's hands.

They were having a great time until the door to the coffee shop swung open and a guy walked in. Colby recognized him as paparazzi.

" Shit," said Colby.

" What is it?" asked Sam, looking back to see what was wrong.

" Don't make eye contact," said Colby.

Sam instead turned back around and looked at Colby. Colby kept glancing over at the guy hoping he would leave without seeing them. Colby let out a breath when he took his coffee and left.

" You okay?" asked Sam.

" Yea, I'm fine," said Colby, putting on a smile.

Once they were finished, Sam and Colby made their way out the back entrance of the cafe. They waved goodbye to Shea and then began walking back home. Sam and Colby were walking and laughing, but as they turned a corner, a camera flashed in their faces. Colby instantly stepped in front of Sam and put a hand up to cover his own face.

" Dude, get lost," said Colby.

" You wanna tell me who your new friend is?" asked the paparazzi.

" None of your business," said Colby.

The guy then moved over to get some better pictures of Sam. Sam did his best to hide his face.

"Hey, look this way, blondie," said the paparazzi. He moved in closer, eventually shoving the camera into Sam's face.

This set Colby off. He slapped the camera out of the guy's hand. It smashed to pieces on the ground.

" What the hell man?" asked the paparazzi.

" I said, get lost," said Colby angrily.

The guy ran away, not even bothering to pick up his camera. Colby turned back to Sam, wrapping a hand around his waist.

" Are you alright?" asked Colby.

" I'm fine," said Sam, smiling.

Colby then lightly pecked him on the cheek. " I'm sorry about that," said Colby.

" It's okay, you can't help it," said Sam.

When Sam and Colby arrived back at the house, all of the roommates were in a frenzy.

" Dude, have you seen Twitter?" asked Jake.

" No, what happened?" asked Colby.

" You may want to check it out," said Corey.

Colby quickly took out his phone and opened Twitter. He scrolled through and all over his timeline was a photo of him pecking Sam on the cheek and a video of them walking and holding hands. The paparazzi must've had another camera or started recording on his phone.

" Fuck!" said Colby.

"It gets worse," said Jake. " Brennen made this long post about how the break-up was your fault, and that Sam is the fan you cheated on him with."

" That's bullshit!" said Colby.

" We know," said Jake. " Luckily, most of the fans are on your side too."

The news was now out to the world. Everyone knew Colby had a new boyfriend. Brennen knew and now he was making up lies about him and Sam.

" Maybe we should stay home tonight," said Corey. " Taking Sam to a huge birthday bash probably isn't the best idea right now."

" No, we're going," said Colby. " Katrina is one of my best friends, this is a big night for her."

" Are you sure, babe?" asked Sam. " Why don't you go? I'll stay here."

" That would raise even more questions," said Colby. " No, you're coming."

Katrina had texted Colby that afternoon.She knew of the situation and had made sure Colby knew he didn't have to come to her party. But Colby insisted. Katrina had also made sure to let Colby know that Brennen hadn't been invited. Luckily, the party was at a private location. Only people with an invite knew where it was. Colby prayed no one would tell Brennen.

Sam walked down the stairs of the TrapHouse and saw Colby sitting on the couch in the living room, strumming his guitar and lightly humming. Sam had come to learn that Colby did some of his best song writing when he was upset or stressed. That is afterall, where Skin had come from, Sam had learned. Sam smiled lovingly at him.

" Are you writing a new song?" asked Sam.

" I am," said Colby.

" What's it about?" asked Sam.

" Someone very special to me," said Colby, putting his arm around the blond as he sat beside him.

" Can I hear it?" asked Sam.

" Not yet," said Colby. " I want it to be perfect."

" Fair enough," said Sam. "Can you take a break?"

" Sure," said Colby. " Did you have something in mind?"

" Come with me," said Sam.

Sam pulled Colby up by his hands and led him out of the house to his car. Sam drove them to the Hollywood Sign. He had a blanket and a picnic ready as a surprise for Colby. Both of them sat on the blanket, talking and laughing. When they were finished, they laid next to each other on the blanket, looking up at the sky. Colby looked over at Sam.

" You know, I remember telling my manager that the contest was such a stupid idea," laughed Colby.

" Really?" asked Sam.

" Yea, but I'm glad she convinced me otherwise," said Colby, turning onto his side to look at Sam. Sam did the same.

Colby lightly caressed Sam's cheek with his finger. " I don't remember the last time I've ever been this happy," said Colby. " I just want this moment to last forever."

Sam happily smiled at him. " I want that too," he said.

" Fuck, I don't wanna lose you," said Colby.

" Colby, you won't lose me," said Sam. " I'm right here, I'm not going anywhere." He then moved closer to the brunette, snuggling up against him. The brunette threw his arm around the blond and kissed him lightly on the lips.

" I love you," said Colby. " I'll love you until the day I die."

" I love you too," said Sam.

That night, Sam and Colby drove to Kat's private mansion in Hidden Hills. Everyone including Katrina had been eager to meet Colby's new boyfriend. They were all having a great time, but Colby was very on edge. What if Brennen had somehow received the location? He was pulled from his thoughts when he felt someone lightly squeeze his hand. It was Sam, sending him a smile of reassurance when he saw the look on Colby's face. Colby smiled at him and then got up from the couch to get them both another drink.

Colby had just finished pouring them when he saw Brennen and instantly thought he was in a nightmare. Colby locked eyes with Brennen and then glanced over at Sam. He loved that boy so much and Brennen had already taken so much from him, he wasn't gonna let him take Sam too. Katrina had already alerted security, but Brennen evaded them in the crowd of people.

Song 5: Colby.

Colby finds himself slowly being pulled back to Brennen but then he remembers Sam and decides enough is enough. He's happy and he's done with Brennen. He's done being scared of Brennen and wants to get even with him, so he wants to show Sam off.

*For this song specifically, think of the word dress as jacket and perfume as cologne.

Colby leaned against the wall as Brennen made his way over towards him. Getting closer with every step. Colby stood still, almost in a trance.

Colby turned away from Brennen, no longer making eye contact with him. He made his way back towards Sam.

Colby glanced behind him and noticed Brennen following him through the crowd of people. He turned to face him, he wanted Brennen to know that he's no longer scared of him and that he's moved on.

Colby turned away from him again. He loved teasing Brennen, acting as if he was gonna let him back in, only to break his heart once again. Colby had always been one for pettiness.

Colby frantically looked around for Sam, finally seeing him. He made his way over to the blond, who smiled at him as he saw Colby walking over. Colby had now shifted all of his attention to Sam and he wanted to make sure Brennen knew that.

Once Colby reached Sam, Sam stood up and Colby pulled him in close. Colby is no longer singing, the song is now playing in the background as this moment plays out. He made out with Sam right there in the middle of the room. All eyes were on both of them. Colby wanted to make sure of that. He could see Brennen out of the corner of his eye as he continued to kiss Sam.

Colby curled his fingers through Sam's hair as he continued to kiss him. He kissed Sam in a way he had never kissed anyone before. He wanted everyone to know that Sam was his.

Colby pulled away, staring lovingly into Sam's eyes.

"What was that for?" asked Sam happily.

" What? A guy can't kiss his boyfriend?" asked Colby, happily.

" You've never kissed me like that before," said Sam, " but I'm not complaining."

Colby looked over to where Brennen was standing. He saw Brennen aggressively take a drink of something and then slam the bottle down on one of the tables. He then turned and marched angrily out of the house. Colby smirked to himself, knowing he had got to Brennen.

When Sam and Colby returned home, they hurriedly made their way up the stairs to the bedrooms. Colby had Sam pinned against the wall before they even reached Colby's room. Colby pressed their lips together.

" Someone's eager," said Sam.

" You're mine," said Colby, " and I want everyone to know it."

" Sounds good to me," said Sam.

Sam jumped up and wrapped his legs around Colby's waist as they made their way into Colby's room. Colby kicked the door shut with his feet while he still kissed Sam. They both discarded their shirts and Colby threw Sam down on his bed, playfully smirking at him. Colby then climbed on the bed and pressed his lips back to the beautiful blond beneath him, gripping Sam's blond locks as he kissed him.
