Chapter 2
22:26, 16 June 2023Sam woke up the next morning in his apartment. He had thought the whole thing had been a dream, until he saw the piece of paper with Colby's number on it. He thought about calling it when suddenly he got an alert on his phone. It was an ad for a room being rented in a house nearby.
Sam was barely able to afford an apartment in Los Angeles, so he was hoping to rent a room and share the cost. It would be a little easier on him until he found a more solid job, besides YouTube.
Sam sent them a message and made arrangements to go see the house and the room. When Sam's taxi pulled up, he was in awe. The front gate opened to a beautiful white house with pillars leading up to the front door. It was in a very nice part of LA. Sam wasn't sure he would be able to afford this, even with a couple of roommates but he was already here so he would still have a look anyway.
Sam rang the doorbell and waited patiently. The doorknob turned and Sam was in disbelief when he saw who was standing in front of him.
" Well, I'll be damned," said Colby. " You just couldn't stay away could you?"
" There must be some mistake," said Sam. "I'm supposed to be looking at a room."
" There's no mistake," said Colby. " Jake said that someone had called to check out the room. Come in, I'll show you around."
" Thanks," said Sam. He made his way past Colby, who was leaning on the side of the doorway as Sam entered. Even the foyer was beautiful.
" Follow me," said Colby.
He made his way up the set of stairs and Sam followed behind him. Colby showed him to the room. He was right across from another one and it had a bathroom in the center of both.
" I'm right across from you," said Colby. " I hope that's okay?"
Sam laughed. " You make it seem like I've already said Yes to moving in," said Sam.
" Well?" asked Colby, smirking.
" I'd like to see the rest of the house first," said Sam.
" Of course," said Colby.
Colby led Sam around the rest of the house and then outside. He opened the sliding door to reveal a massive backyard with a gorgeous pool. When they went back inside, Colby introduced Sam to the rest of the roommates. Two of them were Jake and Corey, Sam recognized them as the other members of the band. Brennen had used to live with all of them but had recently moved out to get his own place, leaving the empty room in the house.
Sam would be lying if he said he wasn't amazed with this house and he already seemed to be getting along well with the roommates.
" Well, what do you think?" asked Colby.
" I really love it," said Sam. "It's just I'm worried about not being able to afford it."
" I think we can make some arrangements," said Colby.
" Really?" said Sam. " You'd do that for me?"
" Sure," said Colby.
" When do I move in?" asked Sam.
" Whenever you like," asked Colby. " Also, you should probably know, we host a lot of private parties here once in a while. Would that bother you?"
" Not at all," said Sam.
" Great," said Colby. " Welcome to the TrapHouse."
Once the final arrangements were made, Colby helped Sam move everything from his apartment to the house. Sam spent hours setting his room and he sat down on the couch once it was finished.
" Looks good," said Colby, leaning in Sam's doorway.
" Thank You," said Sam, smiling.
" We're having some people over tonight," said Colby.
" One of your famous private parties, huh," said Sam.
" That and think of it as a welcoming party for you into your new house," said Colby.
" I can't wait," said Sam.
Sam had decided he wanted to go for a swim. He made his way out to the pool and Colby was already there tanning on a pool chair. He opened his eyes just in time to see Sam walk over. Sam smiled at him and then set his stuff down. Sam was figuring out the best way to get in when he was suddenly pushed. Colby laughed as the blond fell into the water with a splash. He waited for Sam to swim back up, but he didn't. Colby could see him at the bottom of the pool and he wasn't moving.
"Sam?" said Colby. " Sam?"
Still nothing. Colby suddenly panicked, diving into the water after the blond. He came back up, carrying the blond in his arms and was confused when he received a splash to the face. Sam was laughing in his arms.
" That wasn't funny," said Colby.
" Neither was pushing me in the pool," said Sam, smiling.
Colby smirked and dropped him into the water and then made his way over to the stairs of the pool. Colby kept tanning while Sam kept swimming. Colby would sometimes open one eye to get a glance at Sam, discreetly of course. Sam however, saw him looking and found it extremely flattering.
Sam had been rummaging through his things for hours, but no matter what he found, he just couldn't find the right outfit for the party. Colby walked by his room and saw the clothes scattered across the room.
" Looking for something?" said Colby.
" I'm sorry," said Sam. " This is a private party, I can't just wear anything."
" You're right," said Colby. " Wait here."
Sam waited patiently in his room, and a few seconds later, Colby came back with one of his shirts. He handed it to Sam. Sam took off his hoodie and turned to face his mirror, he could feel Colby's gaze on him. Sam pulled on the shirt and it fit perfectly. It was a blue velvet button up with an open neck and rolled sleeves. Sam turned around, brushing off the shirt. Colby admired him.
" Thanks," said Sam. "I'll be sure to give it back."
" Keep it," said Colby smiling, as he retreated back to his own room.
When Sam walked downstairs, the party was in full swing. Sam recognized a few celebrities that were there. These guys knew some very famous people. The music was blasting and Sam had gone to get a drink when a guy walked up to him.
" Hi," he said.
" Hi," said Sam.
" You're the new roommate, right?" asked the guy.
" Yea," said Sam.
" I'm Nate," said the guy. " I'm a friend of Colby's."
" Nice to meet you," said Sam. He glanced over at Nate as he stared awkwardly.
" I'm sorry," said Nate. " You are just gorgeous."
" Oh, thanks," said Sam." You're not so bad yourself." He was just trying to be polite.
Sam hadn't even noticed Colby walk into the kitchen, but Sam wondered if he had been looking on because he had a pissed look on his face. Colby pretended to be looking for something in the kitchen, but Nate wasn't phased.
" Look, if you're free tomorrow, we should get some coffee or maybe," Nate started.
" Hey, babe," said Colby, interrupting and grabbing Sam by the waist, pulling him in close.
" What are you doing?" asked Sam.
" I missed you," said Colby.
"Oh, sorry man, I didn't realize you two were together," said Nate.
" Well, now you know," said Colby, slightly annoyed.
" Sorry again," said Nate, waving to Sam as he went to join his other friends.
Colby said nothing. He waited for Nate to leave and then he walked away from Sam but he saw Colby keeping a close eye on him for the rest of the night.
Sam had started cleaning up when the last of the party guests had left. Sam eyed Colby as he walked into the kitchen and watched Sam clean. He began to help. Neither of them said a word.
" Where did the roommates go?" asked Sam.
" After-after party," said Colby.
" You didn't wanna go?" asked Sam.
" Not without you," said Colby.
" You okay?" asked Sam.
" You know damn well I'm not okay," said Colby.
" I've gotta be honest," said Sam, " I didn't really see you as the jealous type."
" It drove me crazy seeing you with him," said Colby.
" Slow down, Brock," said Sam. " I only just moved in."
" Doesn't matter to me," said Colby.
" Well, I don't wanna rush things," said Sam. " Your little song and dance was cute, but you don't know what you're getting yourself into."
" I'd like to find out," said Colby.
Song 4: Sam.
This is where Sam starts to return the feelings for Colby and wants to make things official.
Sam makes his way around the kitchen, to the other side of the island leaning against it, looking at Colby while he sings.
Sam made his way back around to Colby, working his fingers down his body. He then made his way out of the kitchen into the living room. Colby followed close behind. Walking to the couch Sam gestured for Colby to sit beside him and pulled him forward by his collar so that they were face to face. Sam lets go of Colby and stands up on the couch to dance beside him.
Sam jumped off the couch and made his way into the foyer. He slid across the tile floor and then leaned against the wall just as Colby came up to him and Sam wrapped his hand around Colby's waist, pulling him close as if to kiss him.
Sam started to make his way up the stairs to the bedrooms. He started backwards up the stairs. Colby matched his pace and slowly followed him up.
Sam hurriedly bolted up the stairs, leaning against the wall directly next to his room, watching Colby chase him up the stairs and stop at the top to look at him. Sam gestured for Colby to come over to him and Colby walked over. Sam takes Colby's hand and drags Colby into his room, closing the door and slamming him against the wall. Colby gently caresses Sam's cheek.
Colby nods and Sam throws him onto the bed, straddling him and gripping Colby's hair. Colby then flips them over so that he's on top and looks lovingly at the blond beneath him. Sam caught him off guard, spinning him over and pinning Colby down, leaning in close to him.
"So, what do you say?" asked Sam. " You think you can handle me?"
" Oh, I know I can," said Colby.
" Kiss me then, lover boy," said Sam.
Colby happily kissed Sam on the lips. He pulled away to look into Sam's blue eyes.
" I'm really glad you moved in," said Colby.
" Me too," said Sam.
