Chapter 5 (Getting to know)

Jennie's POV

I arrived home early and safe today. I'm happy to be back after a decade. I was just a kid when we left Korea. I'm also thankful that I gained new friends today and luckily the two are just living in my neighborhood.

I didn't expect that my first day will be as great as this. I'm sitting on the terrace of my room and getting some fresh air.

My parents are not yet home while my brother is still in the US he will be here a month from now. He is just finishing some pieces of stuff prior to flying back to Korea.

Yes!  I have one sibling which is 2 years older than me.I'm home alone, we have two nannies but they're out to get some groceries.

I open my wallet and check an old photo. I smiled.

"How are you? For sure you're still cute and bubbly since before ".

I'm talking to myself right now.

I'm referring to my childhood sweetheart. No! Let me rephrase it, my childhood friend.

I'm kinder when I last saw her. After graduation, my family decided to migrate to the US. I just found out that my Dad planned everything already that time that after our graduation will be staying in the US for good, maybe they didn't inform me since I'm just a kid at that time.

I haven't say goodbye to her nor meet them for the last time. The only remembrance that I have here is our picture when we're a kid.

I wonder how she looks like now. Yes! I gained new friends in the US but this kid has a special space in my heart. She's my best buddy.

I'm busy reminiscing the past when my phone vibrates.

I checked it and saw that Nikki message me. Nikki is my best friend in the US. I'm sad that we will be having an LDR friendship that's why we promised that we will keep in touch and visit each other if we have time.

I didn't notice the time. It's already 8 PM when I checked the clock. Nanny is already downstairs and preparing for dinner. I ate dinner first then go back to my room, I sat on my study table and started to answer our assignment. 

It's already 10 PM when I finished doing it.I don't know what happened next what I know is I fell asleep. I opened my eyes when I heard my alarm clock. It's already 6 AM.

The second day of school!

"Lisa! Wake up, I'm done. You take a bath now! "Jisoo's trying to tap Lisa

"5 mins, Unnie ".

Aishh. This kid never changes.

Jisoo is now waiting for Lisa while the latter is still preparing. She's sitting on the floor and leaning her back on the wall.

*camera flash*

"What are you doing? ".Jisoo asked confused

I'm taking a picture of you. Look, then she shows the masterpiece that she took a second ago. You should post this on your IG and put proper credits, Arasoo?

We have to go now. You drive🙂 and gave the car key to Jisoo.

Jisoo: I'm too pretty to be your driver!

Lisa: So am I 😄 cmon Unnie, just drive so I can have a few more minutes to sleep.

Jennie, Irene, Seulgi, and Joy are already in the classroom when the two arrived.

Seulgi: Nice-Suh, Manoban!  Congrats on being early on the second day of school. Keep it up. Haha

Jisoo: You know, she's just early because I'm with her.

Lisa: whatever.

Jennie: Good morning Jisoo and Lisa.

Jisoo: Hi, Jen!  Good morning.

Lisa: same and give her a smile.

The four girls talked while Jennie tried to talk and be friendly to Lisa. She remembered what she said yesterday that she's the type of person who will not do the first move to talk or be friendly to someone. Her friends mentioned too that most of the time, ladies and gents are the ones who will do the first move, so Lisa will notice them.

It's not that Lisa is being a snob or what. She's just shy and afraid to be ignored or rejected that's why she's not used to it to do the first move talking to someone.

"How's your sleep, Lisa".Jennie nervously asked

Lisa was shocked because Jennie is sitting beside her.

"Ahhh... Hmm. Good good. I have a good night's sleep last night ".

"Are you done with our homework? ".-Jennie

"Ah yeah, Jisoo helped me last night to finish it how about you? Are you done"?-Lisa

"Yup! I make sure to finished it yesterday before I fell asleep ".Jennie

The two continuously talk. It seems that the ice was broken already between them.

Lisa is now comfortable with Jennie's presence. It's been 30mins when the two are sharing some stories when the professor enters the class.

Jennie hurriedly stands and go back to her seat which is at the back of Lisa.

"Talked to you later".Jennie whispered on Lisa's ear which gives the latter a shiver.

"Good morning, Mr. Lee".the class greeted him in unison.

"okay class before we discuss, please submit your homework first ".

The professor counted all of the submitted papers and count it. So, you guys are 36 here collectively? I assume no one is absent for the second day?

I want you to group yourself into 6 members.

*the girls look at each other*

That will be your group for your Thesis. For now, I will give you time so you guys can discuss the topic that you want to study.

Each group gathered.

Joy: So girls what's the plan?

Jisoo: Aishh!  Why is this Mr. Lee giving us stress as early as this? We're just on the second day.

"After you discuss, submit your names in a clean sheet of paper. Kindly include who's your leader and the sub-leader ".Mr. Lee instructed

Irene: who will be our leader and sub lead? You know guys that I can't. I'm not good at leading a team

Joy: me either. I can be a good asset for the team but as a member😂

Seulgi: especially me hahaha

The girls looked to Jisoo

Jisoo: jinjja? Do you want us to graduate or not? We need a smart leader of course. Jisoo looks to Lisa. I know you can do it, Lisa. You're smart as hell you're just lazy.

Jennie: Alright. I will lead the team

The girls smile positively. And Lisa will be the Sub lead!  Perfect!  They uttered in unison.

The girls now discuss the topic to be chosen and other matters. Jennie is the one who's giving an idea the whole time and the girls just agreed because her idea is an excellent one.

Lisa can't take her eyes away to Jennie. She's been seriously listening to Jennie's words since earlier. The latter's voice sounds like a piece of music to her ear. She's amazed because the girl is smart. You will notice it on the way she talks and the way she suggests things. 

It's almost the same as the idea that Lisa's thinking. Great minds think alike, Lisa mutely told to herself.

Irene: Perfect! Nice one Jendeuk 😀

Jennie: huh?! Jendeuk?

Irene: Because you're cute.

Jisoo: So everything is planned already. We just need to gather those details.

Lisa: Maybe we can do I sleepover on Friday night? So we can start the first chapters?

Seulgi: I like your idea, Manoban!

The first period is done already. They're still in the classroom while waiting for the next prof to arrive.

Jennie decided to go out and stay in the corridor because of the noise inside.

"Why are you here"?Lisa followed her in the corridor

"It's so noisy inside the room so I decided to have got some air here," Jennie answered

"Come with me".Lisa holds Jennie's hands.

Jennie is shocked because of the electricity traveled on her body when Lisa drag here.

"Where are we going"? Jennie asked

"In the school garden " Lisa smile ☺

"But we still have a class"? It's Jennie.

"I informed Jisoo to text me once the professor arrives, so we can go back. Don't worry garden is just right here".Lisa smile while still holding the latter's hand.

"Daebak, it's so beautiful here, I didn't know that there's a place like this in our school " Jennie was amazed.

They sit on the bench.

"Lisa, tell me something about your self ".Jennie asked

"Is this a job interview? " Lisa teased

"Aniya, I just want to know more about you. Your friends share about them yesterday in the cafe but you didn't. But it's fine if you're not comfortable ". Jennie sadly stated

Lisa noticed it.

"I'm an only child, my parents are both engaged in Business. Jisoo Unnie is like a sibling to me because we grow up together. I'm famous here in school because I'm pretty ".

"ohhhh".Jennie "O" her mouth.

"Why? I'm just telling the truth haha ".Lisa laughs

Aside from being pretty, I don't have other talents, Lisa continues.

Jennie is smiling the whole time while Lisa is sharing something about her. Jisoo is right, Lisa is funny. She will always joke around. No wonder why a lot of students admire her because of her personality. She remembers her childhood friend.

"It's TMI already, what else do you want to know".Lisa looked at her and ☺.

"Thanks, Lisa for sharing those,

You guys are my first friends here. I'm happy that I met you and them (referring to the other girls)

Lisa's phone vibrates so she checked it. Jisoo texted here.

"Our prof didn't show up, the girls are now going out to have lunch ".Lisa stated while looking at her phone.

"Oh, C'mon let's take a selfie ". Lisa randomly uttered.

-Hmm, what now?
