Chapter 30

Jax drove his bike with no destination in mind. He just needed to feel the wind in his face. He needed something to show him he was alive because at the moment, he felt dead. Losing Opie was one things he had never thought would happen. Opie had always been there for him when he needed a listening ear and when he needed to be told the hard truth about something he had done wrong.

Before Jax knew it, he was pulling into the lot of the police station. Going inside, he went looking for Hale. Hales hate for SAMCRO was no secret and they had gotten word that Hale was working with the ATF to try and shut down SAMCRO once and for all. If anyone would have any answers, it would be Hale.

Jax found Hale in his office. He went in and shut the door.

"I'm sorry about Opie" said Hale.

"Yeah me too" said Jax.

"I need some answers" said Jax.

"We don't know much." Said Hale.

"Bullshit Jake. You and your family have wanted SAMCRO out of this town for years. We know you have been helping the ATF." Said Jax.

Hanging his head, Hale knew he had to tell Jax what he knew.

"Fine, but I can't do it here" said Hale.

"Then tell me where" said Jax.

"Come with me" said Hale.

The two of them walked downstairs to where the holding cells were. There wasn't anyone around..

"Stahl set Opie up as the rat. I knew it was happening but I couldn't bring myself to tell you guys. Now, I don't have any proof but I think this was Clay. I know you guys have your own set of rule and I know that when someone breaks them, they have to pay. Well, I think clay thought Opie was the rat. Now I dont think Clay was the trigger man but he does have a very trigger happy best friend. I think Clay had Opie killed before he court could take place in case Opie was the rat." Said Hale.

"Can't be. Clay promised me that he and Opie were good. He promised me that he believed opie." Said Jax.

"I guess Clay has never lied to you" said Hale.

"That's not thr point" said Jax.

"Like I said, I have no proof. I told Stahl this was going to happen and she did nothing to stop it." Said Hale.

"Thanks for the info" said Jax as he walked out of the cell.

Climbing on his bike, he started it. He roads around for a while. We went by the old park that he and Opie used to play in. He rode by their old high school and thought of all the fights they had been in during their years there. They had been in enough that Jax had been expelled forcing him to get his GED.

Leaving the high school, he rode by the old ice cream shop where he and Opie had went on their first double date. It was the first time Opie went out with Donna and it was the first time Jax had went out with Tara. Opie and Donna has been inseparable since then. Thinking about Opie and Donna has him heading over to their house. He stopped the bike in the drive and cut the engine off. Putting his helmet in the handlebars, he walked to the door and knocked. No one came to the door on the first knock. He tried again, with the same results. He tried one more time and this time, Donna came to the door.

"Why are you here?" Donna said.

"I'm checking on you and the kids" said Jax

"Me and the kids are fine. We're going to be fine. We don't need you. We dont need this town. We don't need SAMCRO.m and we damn sure don't need your sympathy. He wanted out Jax but you convinced him to say. I told him this was going to happen. Now look at us! My kids just got their dad and now he's gone again. And he won't be back this time! And it's on your shoulders you son of a bitch!" Said Donna.

"Donna..." started Jax.

"Don't 'Donna' me asshole. This is on you. Kenny and Ellie are going to spend the rest of their lives know their dad had his fucking head blew on all because you were to selfish to let him leave." Said Donna.

"Please Donna, let me talk to you"Said Jax.

"You can get your ass off my fucking property! Don't come around here again. And you can give Piney that message too." Said Donna as she slammed the sore in Jax's face.

Jax knew she was hurting and that she needed a punching bag. But damn it hurt to be that for her. She hadn't told him anything that he wasn't already feeling. He had told Tinsley as much earlier.

Digging his phone out of his pocket, he saw that he had a missed call from Tinsley. He checked the voicemail she had left.

Hey baby it's me. I know you need to be alone for a few minutes so I'm not going to bother you. I just wanted to make sure your ok. I'm here for you Jax. I love you baby"

Noticing the time, it was 3am. He wasn't about to call her and wake her. Climbing on his bike, he started it up and headed home.

When he walked in the door, Tinsley was lying on the couch asleep. Abel was lying on her chest. The sight of Abel asleep on her chest was so heart warming. He stared at them like that for what seemed like forever. Abel was snoring just the slightest. Wanting to let Tinsley get some rest, Jax went to pick Abel up and put him to bed. When he moved Abel it caused Tinsley to stir.

"Hey baby" Tinsley said.

"Hey. I didn't mean to wake you" said Jax.

"Its fine. That's why I was in here. I wanted you to wake me when you came in." said Tinsley.

"You need rest baby" Jax said.

"What I need is for you to be ok" said Tinsley.

"I'm working it all out" said Jax.

"Well you don't have to get though this alone. That's what I'm here for." Said Tinsley.

"I know baby." Said Jax.

Tinsley stood up and took Abel from Jax. Holding him against her chest, she nuzzled his cheek. Jax did think he had ever seen a more beautiful sight. Jax walked to Tinsley and hugged her and Abel. Tinsley's other arm wrapped around him and stroked up and down his back.

"He has to eat soon." Said Tinsley.

"I'll get it. You go get some sleep." Said Jax.

"I won't sleep without you here. At least not good sleep. Go fix me a bottle and I'll carry him upstairs." Said Tinsley.

"I can do that" Jax said as he kissed her and headed for the kitchen.

Tinsley headed upstairs with Abel and carried him to her and Jax's bedroom. She sat on the bed propping her back again the headboard. Abel still lay sound asleep on her chest. One hand on Jax's back, she laid her other on her stomach. She hadn't really had a chance to process the fact that they were going to have to kids in a short amount of time. Abel was only 2 months old. When she had this one he wouldn't even be a year old yet. This was going to be an adventure but she couldn't think of anything better. She closed her eyes and tried to imagine what the future was going to hold for her and Jax.

Jax came into the bedroom and saw her rubbing her belly with one hand and rubbing Abel's back with the other. He stood there and watched her for a moment trying to commit it to his memory. Abel started to stir and Tinsley opened her eyes. Jax walked towards the bed and gave her the bottle.

"One more thing baby.. I need a diaper and some wipes" said Tinsley.

Going to the nursery, he grabbed a couple of diapers and a packet of wipes and went back to his bedroom. Tinsley sat on the bed feeding Abel singing him Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. Jax walked into the bedroom and sat down on the bed beside her pulling her into his side. He rubbed Abel's head as he ate.

"He's perfect" said Jax.

"He sure is" said Tinsley.

"Hasn't had a perfect start in life though." Said Jax.

""Who says he's hasn't? It's what was meant for him. Granted, Wendy ain't worth the air she breaths because of what she did but if she hadn't, would we have gotten together?" Tinsley asked Jax.

"I don't know" said Jax.

"That's the funny thing about life. We don't know what's going to happen but going through it with someone who means the world got us makes it so much better." Said Tinsley.

"How did I get so lucky?" Said Jax.

"I don't know Teller but I ask myself the same thing everyday" said Tinsley.

After burping Abel, Tinsley walked down the hall and placed him in his crib.
