Chapter 48

( A/n: Part 3 of Heather Report part 2, once again not everything in the episode is going to happen here. I hope you'll like it anyway. )

Mistake watched as the girl Alvin called " Heather walked in the arena with the book he was holding. Astrid looked at Mistake with slight worry, as she didn't even know what kind of Scalewalker Mistake was.

Alvin: ( to " Heather ", aka Astrid: ) Well, I'm waiting.

Astrid: ( to Mistake, calmly: ) Alright, kid. It's you and me.

Mistake then used her claws to climb the arena walls, when Astrid tried to hold out her hand to her.

Astrid: ( silently: ) Huh, a climber like Onyx. ( Takes a deep breath ) ( to Mistake: ) Come on, girl.

Astrid didn't want to evade Mistake's personal space, but she knew that she had to.

Mistake then tried to knock Astrid down with her tail when Astrid tried to get close to her, Astrid dodged out of the way.

Astrid: Okay. Check that off the list. Now, let's try-

Mistake roared, jumped off the wall, and began to try to strike at Astrid, but she dodged.

Astrid: Alright, you want the direct approach. So, be it, kid.

Astrid then lets out a battle cry, and then rushed to Mistake, who just dodged the teenage viking with a smirk.

Alvin watched in amusement as the girl struggled with Mistake.

Alvin: ( to Savage: ) Our little Heather is feistier than I remember. ( Chuckles )

Mistake then levitates Astrid and hung her upside down in the air, Astrid was in complete shock with what she was seeing, making Mistake chuckle.

Alvin: ( to " Heather ", aka Astrid: ) This isn't anything my soldiers haven't done already! You need to do better!

Astrid hated to admit it, but she was about to be ready to give up, as she didn't know how to deal with a Scalewalker that was so aggressive towards her, but then she remembered the little girl in the outcast prison that was a few cells away from Mistake's cell and she remembered what Meryl had told her about what happens when a Scalewalker is separate from their human body for too long, it made her realize that Mistake possibly doesn't even remember being human, or what she was. Mistake raised her claws, preparing to wound the viking girl.

Alvin: ( Uncaring: ) Well, that's going to be the end of that.

Mistake was about to strike at Astrid, but stopped when a tiny amount of soot in Astrid's hair that the outcasts didn't even notice, fell off revealing to Mistake that Astrid was a blonde, which for some reason, that was unknown to both her and Astrid, caused Mistake to calm down and lower her talon, no longer wanting to attack Astrid. Astrid decided to play along despite her confusion as to why Mistake calm down, she slowly reached her hand to Mistake's head and gave her a few gentle pets, causing the young Scalewalker to purr. Alvin and the audience were shocked by what they were seeing.

Alvin: ( impressed by what the girl did: ) Oh, ho! I told you she knew what she was doing!

Savage: ( laughs nervously ) ( to Alvin: ) Yes, you certainly did.

Astrid then slowly mounted Mistake's back, to much of Mistake's confusion.

Astrid: ( to Mistake: ) What do you say we get outta of here and get your human body back.

Mistake looked at Astrid in confusion by what she said at the end.

Alvin: Going somewhere with my beast, Heather?

Astrid: As far away from here as possible! And she's a living being, not an object!

Mistake watched as the outcast soldiers brought out two prisoners after Astrid said that.

Alvin: Without your parents?

Alvin looked over to the two vikings menacingly, who shrink back in fear.

Astrid: ( under her breath: ) Parents...? She was telling the truth?

Alvin: I think we can come to an agreement, Heather. Your parents for the book and Mistake.

Astrid grips on the book tightly and placed her hand on Mistake's head, not wanting to give her or the book to Alvin. Mistake was confused about what was happening, as she didn't understand what was going on.

Alvin: Or you can leave and I'll kill 'em!

Astrid thought for a few seconds before, she got off of Mistake, acting like she was surrounding. Alvin smiled maliciously.

Alvin: Well, let's have it!

Astrid shakes her head, glaring at Alvin.

Astrid: Send them over first!

Alvin: ( sighs ) Fine... ( To Heather's parents: ) Off you go. ( Scoffs and pushed them forward )

Mistake watched the two vikings go to the girl, but she couldn't hear what she said to them.

Alvin: ( is disgusted at the family reunion ) ( to " Heather ", aka Astrid: ) You do know that I'll never let you out here with that book and beast.

Astrid: No kidding!

Mistake then looked at the three vikings in confusion as the girl whispered something to the adults.

Alvin: Oh, Heather! I'm waiting!

Astrid then threw the book upward.

Astrid: Now!

Heather's parents dropped to the ground.

Astrid: ( to Mistake, with a apologetic expression: ) Sorry, kid.

Astrid then punched Mistake in the jaw, enraged and confused, Mistake roared a roar that was of nothing that Astrid had ever heard, it was loud and echo-y, Mistake then breathed a large stream of crimson red flames, which was hotter and looked more dangerous than anything Astrid or the Outcasts had ever seen. The Outcast soldier immediately tried to immobilize Mistake, but failed. Mistake was clearly too powerful for them, she knocked them all to the wall with a single swing of her tail.

Astrid then saw a basket of fish that had a note on it that said " For Mistake " as she and Heather's parents tried to escape and she took a salmon out of the basket and waved it to Mistake to see as Alvin saw that they were trying to escape. Mistake, by instinct, stops causing a rampage and ran towards them to get the fish. When Alvin threw a bola, which it was about to hit Heather's father when Mistake got in the way, unknowingly saving the viking, and it caught one of her small wings, she calmly shook it off and continued running towards Astrid to get the fish. Once they were far enough, Astrid gave the fish to Mistake and got in her back, Heather's parents looked at Astrid in confusion.

Astrid: Hop on!

Heather's parents then hesitantly got on Mistake's back, and Astrid then looked at Mistake.

Astrid: Up, kid. We need to get out of here.

Mistake huffs a puff of smoke in response, as she was still upset about Astrid punching her.

Astrid: I promise, I'll make it up to you, after this. Look, kid, I know others like you ( this catches Mistake's interest ) and I can take you to them-

Mistake then takes off into the air, right before a group of outcast soldiers could lasso her.

Astrid then waved to Hiccup and the others, when she saw them, and they flew to her, looking at Heather's parents and Mistake in confusion.

Hiccup: Who are they?

Meryl: ( is looking at Mistake ) Is that...?

Astrid: Heather's parents, and this is the Scalewalker Heather was talking about.

Mistake looked confused when Astrid called her a " Scalewalker ", which Meryl and Onyx quickly noticed.

Onyx: She... She doesn't know what she is...

Meryl: Poor thing...

Astrid: Onyx, have Heather's parents ride with you, they're safer with you and Fáfnir.

Onyx: ( nods his head in response to Astrid ) ( to Fáfnir: ) Alright, boy. Remember what I taught you, it's time for a mid air transfer.

Fáfnir roars in agreement, and he slowly flew closer to Astrid and Mistake, as he didn't want to scare the small Scalewalker child, and he carefully moved his tail to the two vikings, allowing them a way on his back. Onyx then began walking on Fáfnir's back, to his tail and reached his hand to help Heather's parents on.

Onyx: ( to Heather's parents: ) Don't worry, it's safe.

Heather's parents slowly made their way on Fáfnir's back with the help of Onyx and sat down on the middle of Fáfnir's back behind Onyx. Mistake then suddenly roared in pain as a cut appeared on her shoulder, near her wings, which caused her to stop flapping her wings, she and Astrid then began to fall, Onyx managed to catch Astrid.

Astrid: Kid!!!

Meryl: ( to Mistake: ) Hold on!

Hiccup: We're coming!

Meryl and Hiccup then began fly their dragons after the falling Scalewalker dragonet, but it was too late. Mistake fell onto Outcast island, and Alvin ran to her, acting like he was worried.

Alvin: ( to Mistake: ) Oh! Mistake! Thank the gods, you're okay! ( Fake gasps ) Those terrible riders hurt you, you poor dragon. Come here, girl, we'll protect you from those terrible dragon riders.

Mistake was confused, but realized that she had gotten the wound when Astrid was on her back, and remembered that Astrid punched her, so she ran to hide behind Alvin, and Meryl and Hiccup began retreating as the Outcasts started firing at them. Meryl then sees that Savage was standing in the distance out of Mistake's sight, with a dagger and an unconscious six year old girl with the same identical wound as Mistake, Meryl quickly knew what the Outcasts just did.

Meryl: ( yells, angrily, to Alvin: ) YOU TERRIBLE EXCUSE FOR A LIVING BEING! MANIPULATING A CHILD LIKE THIS!

Mistake whines as Meryl's yelling scared her and Alvin laughs at the riders as he stood in front her.

Alvin: It was you! That hurt our sweet innocent Mistake! Attack, men!

Meryl: Mistake?! Who names any living being that!

Meryl was about to go save Mistake and Mistake's human body, but the Stormfly and Heather came out of nowhere, and Heather took Mistake's human body from Savage. Alvin growled before he had an idea, and looked at Mistake.

Alvin: Now's your chance, Mistake! Show them who they're messing with!

Mistake then weakly extended the talon on the side where the wound on her shoulder was, and used her abilities to levitate multiple large stones and fired it at the riders and their dragons, who barely dodged the boulders flying at them. This caused the riders and Heather to retreat in order to make sure Mistake doesn't accidentally hurt her human body.

( With the riders )

Snotlout: What are we doing?! Aren't we going to save that kid?

Hiccup: In a way, we did. ( Gestures to the unconscious six year old girl, which Heather was holding to make sure she does fall off ) Now, the outcast can't hurt her human body.

Meryl: But, she's still being manipulated by Alvin, he's making her think we are the bad guys.

Onyx: ( growls ) We have to go back for her! And talk some sense to her!

Hiccup: We will. Just not now, we'll come back and save her, but right now we need to take her human body to Gothi to heal her wound.

The other riders knew that Hiccup was right, they didn't want to risk Alvin hurting the girl more in either forms, and they knew that at the moment the girl didn't trust them. When they got back to Berk, Heather quickly got off Stormfly as Onyx helped her parents off Fáfnir, and Astrid quickly took the unconscious six year old from her. Astrid then got on Stormfly without saying a word and took off, Onyx quickly followed after Astrid to Gothi's hut. Astrid and Onyx then got off their dragons and went to Gothi.

Onyx: Gothi! We need your help!

Astrid: She's hurt.

( Slight Time Skip )

Meryl, Hiccup, Astrid, and Onyx were at the docks, as Heather and her family were thanking them for their help and bidding them goodbye.

Heather: ( to the four riders: ) I can't thank you enough. ( To Meryl and Astrid: ) Especially you, Astrid, Meryl. You put your life on the line for us, Astrid. And Meryl, you offered me a place to stay and made me feel welcomed, even though I didn't deserve it. I'll never forget that. I'm gonna miss you.-

Evergreen roared and ran to Heather, nuzzling her leg.

Heather: ( chuckled ) I'm going to miss you too, Evergreen.

Hiccup: Who knows. Maybe we'll see each other again.

Meryl: I have a feeling we will.

Heather: I have a feeling we will, too. Take care of that kid, even though she's not in her human body.

Hiccup: We will. And one day, we'll save her fully from Alvin.

Meryl: Just promise that if you need help again, you'll ask.

Heather: I will. I promise.

Heather the went on the boat with her parents, and she gave them one last wave goodbye, before they sailed off with Stoick seeing them off. Evergreen then saw that Snotlout was waiting at the end of the dorks, and saw him mouthed " write me " to Heather when she and her family passed by, Evergreen then charged and knocked him off the docks and into the water, making Heather laugh and shake her head with a smile at the baby Green Death, Heather was definitely planning to write letters, but not to Snotlout.

Snotlout: EVERGREEN!!

( Slight Time Skip, a few minutes later, at Gothi's hut )

Astrid was sitting at the bedside of Mistake's human body as the unconscious six year old slept, the six year old's wound was now bandaged up. Onyx walked in and say next to Astrid, and wrapped in arm around her to comfort her, as he knew that she felt bad for not being able to fully save the young Scalewalker.

Onyx: We'll save her, Astrid. But, for now, I think she needs a real name, not " Mistake ".

Astrid: Yeah, she doesn't deserve to be called that or be treated like an object not a living being or to be manipulated. She's just a kid.

Onyx: She deserves a life, a real one... How about " Liv ", last I've checked it means " life " in viking.

Astrid: ( chuckled slightly ) And what does it mean in Scalewalker?

Onyx: In Scalewalker tradition, " Liv " means miracle. Either way, I think it suits her.

Astrid: Liv... I like it.

Onyx then moved a piece of hair away from the young Scalewalker they now named " Liv " 's face, making the girl smile slightly in her sleep.

( On Outcast island )

Mistake, or " Liv ", was now sleeping in her cell, the wound had stopped bleeding, even though it wasn't bandaged or showed signs of the outcasts having a healer heal her wound. She smiled slightly, as she suddenly felt safe even though she was in a prison cell.
