Chapter 46

( A/n: Part 1 of Heather Report part 2 )

Meryl was on Goofball and they were chasing after Heather, who had tried to escape Berk again. Evergreen was chasing Heather on the ground. Just as Heather spots a boat moored by the ocean, Evergreen fires at the boat, burning it into ashes. Goofball then scoops Heather from the ground and holds her up by the back of her shirt.

Meryl: ( to Heather, a bit coldly: ) You can break out of jail as many times as you want, but you're not getting off this island!

Cut to Meryl putting Heather into her prison cell, and Astrid slamming the door shut, Heather safely inside.

Astrid: Give it up, Heather. We have dragons and Scalewalkers.

Heather: Astrid, Meryl, I have to get back to Outcast island!

Astrid: Yeah, I bet you do.

Heather: You don't understand! Alvin has my parents!

Meryl: Really? What happened to the pirates?

Heather: There were never any pirates. I made it all up.

Meryl turned away from Heather with a frown, Astrid placed her hand on Meryl's shoulder to comfort her.

Heather: But, I had to. I needed you to trust me.

Astrid: Well, guess what? We don't. Not anymore. Especially after you kidnapped Evergreen and Tida.

Heather: I didn't kidnap them. They followed me!

Astrid: Uh-huh sure. Come on, Meryl.

Astrid and Meryl were about to leave when...

Heather: Alvin has a Scalewalker dragonet!

Meryl's eyes widened, while Astrid wasn't trusting a word Heather was saying.

Heather: He was planning on executing her, but I managed to save her by telling them what happens when a Scalewalker is a dragon for too long.

Meryl: ( doesn't look at Heather ) How old?

Heather: I didn't get a good look at her, but-

Astrid: Don't listen to her, Meryl. She's just trying to trick you again. Let's go.

( Meanwhile, on Outcast island )

Alvin and Savage were watching as Mistake was practicing her abilities in the outcast arena. She was trying to levitate heavier weapons, by trying to levitate a catapult off the ground.

Savage: ( to Alvin: ) The separation of her human body is working. She's showing signs of forgetting about being human, she's acting more like a dragon every hour.

Alvin: Good. By then she'll be fully under our control-

Mistake roared happily as she managed to levitate the catapult a few inches off the ground, and she looked at Alvin and Savage.

Alvin: Good job, Mistake. Savage, her reward.

Savage grabs a loaf of bread and tosses it to Mistake, she happily catches it in her mouth, accidentally dropping the catapult on a Outcast soldier's foot, making him scream in pain. Mistake turned her head and whined at the outcast soldier as she knew that must have hurt.

( On Berk )

The Riders were at the Dragon Training Arena, helping train one another's dragons for the fight. Onyx was helping Meryl train Goofball how to fight. Onyx had painted Alvin's face on a rock with a target on it, Goofball licked his fangs at the rock.

Onyx: Okay, Goofball-

Meryl and Onyx's face became blank as Goofball was now trying to eat the rock, even though it can't fit in his mouth.

Meryl: ( to Onyx: ) Saw that coming?

Onyx: Saw that coming. We should have used barrels instead.

Hiccup: Nice job, guys. But remember, the Outcasts are not gonna be coming one at a time. And- ( sees what Goofball was doing ) I don't think he'll be close enough to even do that, and I really don't want him to eat a person.

Fishlegs: ( to Hiccup: ) You don't need to remind me, we're under enough stress.

Onyx: Also, if you are close enough to a soldier, and you don't have your dragon or a weapon, just kick them in the sunshine area.

The Riders turned to Onyx with shocked expressions.

Onyx: What? It's very effective.

They then heard clapping and saw that Tida had somehow got into the arena without anyone knowing, and was running towards the twins.

Tida: Wuff! Huff!

Tuffnut: Tida? Why aren't you with mom and dad?

Ruffnut: She must've took off from them to find us again.

Meryl: Makes sense, she is two. Dragonets are prone to take off at that age.

Fishlegs: Isn't that dangerous?

Meryl: Definitely, especially if the dragonet is spotted by a predator. ( Chuckles ) My parents had lost count how many times a predator tried to get me, to only get attacked by one of my parents or get stung by me.

Onyx: I didn't took off when I was two, I took off when I was five. Alvin would send out search parties to look for me, most of the time I was just hiding in a ship, reading.

Fishlegs: Wait... Onyx, you know everything about Alvin, right?

Onyx: Like a book. Why?

Fishlegs: If he has the book, where would he put it?

Onyx: He would have it with him at all times or heavily guarded, like any object that's important to him.

Meryl then began thinking of something, as the other riders continued talking, she wasn't watching what they were doing.

Hiccup: Remember, we're only gonna have one shot at getting the book of dragons back.

Fishlegs: Um, did I not make myself clear about the stress...?-

Dragonet Tida then appears and started trying to get Barf and Belch to play with her. The riders saw that Tida's human body was asleep on the Zippleback's back.

Fishlegs: Aw, her dragon form is so cute!

Astrid: Ruff, Tuff, can you take her back to your parents? Fight training isn't for kids, especially toddlers.

Tuffnut: On it. ( Picks up the baby Scalewalker dragon )

Ruffnut: Plus, Mom must be panicking right now, Tida kinda became her favorite.

Tuffnut: Which, we aren't complaining, it gives us more time to blow stuff up.

The twins then take off to return Tida to their parents.

Astrid: How come Tida is so obsessed with the twins?

Fishlegs: Yeah, they aren't the greatest examples.

Onyx: Young Dragonets can become attached to someone if something about the person reminds them about their parental figure. Can be the color of their hair or eyes, or something about their personality or what they do.

Meryl: Hey guys? ( Crossed her arms with a blank expression as she saw that they weren't listening to her ) Here we go again.

Fishlegs: ( to Hiccup: ) You know all this training is nice once we have the book. But Alvin's not just gonna hand it over to us-

Meryl then lets out a loud roar, gaining everyone's attention. Onyx was shocked by how loud Meryl's roar was.

Meryl: Alright, now that I have your attention. Fishlegs's right, he isn't going to hand the book to us...but Alvin will hand it over to " Heather ".

Fishlegs: Uh... I think Meryl has been eating Dragon Nip again.

Onyx: Oh, no. I'll get the ropes-

Meryl: That was one time. No! That's not what I'm saying.

Hiccup: So, you're suggesting we let her go?

Meryl: Sort of.

Fishlegs: Yep. Dragon Nip.

Meryl growls at Fishlegs before she grabs Astrid's arm and starts dragging her out of the arena.

Astrid: Meryl, what are you-

Meryl: We're going to trick Alvin into thinking that you're Heather and get the book back.

Astrid: How and why me?

Meryl: I have my ways, and because you're about the same height as Heather.

( At Outcast Island )

Mistake was in her cell, eating one of the baskets of fish she earned from practicing her abilities like Alvin ordered, the fish weren't cooked. Alvin and Savage were outside her cell, and were looking at the Scalewalker page in the book of dragons.

Savage: Her kind doesn't seem to be in the book, sir.

Alvin: That's a good thing. It means that those riders won't know how to defeat her or control her. In due time, while know more about her more than them, and we'll use that knowledge to defeat them all. Especially with the help of our deadly weapon ( gestures to Mistake )

They then saw Mistake eat an eel, without any fear, shocking both Outcasts.

Savage: Did she- But the book says that they are afraid of eels like the dragons!

Alvin: ( smiles evilly ) That means that she has no weakness that they know of. ( Laughs evilly ) I can't wait to use her against them. But first, we need to find her an opponent to fight. I want her to live for the battlefield.

Savage: Of course, sir.
