Chapter 45

( A/n: Part 5 of Heather Report part 1 )

Meryl woke up and walked out of her room with a yawn. She went to check on the book of dragons in the hidden compartment, but it wasn't there.

Meryl: What?

Meryl then went to Heather's room, and opened the door, her eyes widened when she saw that Heather and Evergreen were gone.

Meryl: No.. No..

Meryl then ran out of her house, Goofball following after her, as he woke up to see that his rider was panicking. Meryl ran to Hiccup, who looked at her in worry.

Hiccup: Mery, what-

Meryl: Their gone!

Hiccup: What? Who's gone?

Meryl: Heather and Evergreen! And the book of dragons are missing!

Hiccup: ( trying to calm Meryl down: ) Mery, breath, I'm sure-

Astrid and the other riders then ran to them.

Astrid: She's gone!

Hiccup: Heather?

Meryl: ( is panicking ) We already know that, Astrid!

Astrid: No! Stormfly! " Little Miss Perfect " stole my dragon!

Meryl: What... ( Her eyes widened in realization ) She....

Hiccup: The book of dragons is also gone, and Evergreen.

Fishlegs: Oh, this is bad. This is bad, this is bad, this is bad! This is catastrophic! I-If Alvin gets that book!-

Hiccup: He won't.

Meryl: Heather, she.... I can't believe it. I... I was a fool. You were right, Astrid.

Astrid: Meryl, I didn't mean-

Meryl: ( growls angrily ) I'm going to fix this. ( To her boyfriend and friends: ) Don't follow me.

Meryl then forced herself to go unconscious by overstressing herself, Hiccup caught her human body as she became a dragon. Meryl then flapped her wings and took off, with an angered roar.

Onyx: We need to get to them before Heather gets to Outcast island!

Snotlout: Can Meryl even catch up to them?

Onyx: She's half SandStriker. When a SandStriker is in pure rage, their already enhanced speed becomes more enhanced. Wait... Ruffnut, Tuffnut, where Tida?

Ruffnut & Tuffnut: ( point at each other ) ( at the same time: ) She was watching her/He was watching her. Wait, what? I thought you were watching her!

Onyx: Oh, no...

Hiccup: Please don't tell me that they- Let's get on our dragons, now!

Onyx: Astrid, you can ride with me.

( With Heather )

Heather was struggling to fly Stormfly, when she heard a chirp and a small growl, she turned to see Evergreen and Tida behind her, sitting on Stormfly's back. Tida giggled at the look on Heather's face, while Evergreen was giving her a disappointing glare.

Heather: How did you?- Evergreen, please don't look at me, I had to- ( her eyes widened ) Oh Thor.

Evergreen and Tida turned and saw a furious Meryl dragon flying towards them in high speeds.

Meryl: ( Angrily: ) HEATHER!!!!

Heather: Oh, Thor!

Meryl didn't realize that they were in Outcast waters, when she scooped Heather off Stormfly, holding her in one of her talons, causing Stormfly to stop and causing Heather to drop the book of dragons.

Heather & Meryl: NO!

Meryl then started flying towards the book, trying to catch it, but it was too late. Evergreen and Stormfly roared in panic as Meryl began dodging enemy fire, and Tida started to get scared. Meryl then retreated, to keep her and the human girl that betrayed her, alive causing the Outcast soldiers to cheer. Meryl flew to Stormfly, Evergreen, and Tida.

Meryl: We need to go back to Berk, come on!

They followed Meryl as she started flying back to Berk, with Heather in her talons.

Heather: Meryl, I-

Meryl: ( coldly: ) Save it.

When they met up with the riders halfway to Berk. Astrid was riding on Fáfnir with Onyx. The twins smiled in relief to see that Tida was okay. Meryl then hands Heather to Goofball, he holds onto her by the back of her shirt.

Tida: ( is tearing up, and reaches her arms to the twins ) Wuff! Huff!

Snotlout: Wuff? Huff?

Meryl then picked up the toddler and hands her to her adoptive siblings, Tuffnut hugged the toddler. Stormfly then flies to Astrid and the Boneknapper, letting her rider get on her back.

Tuffnut: Don't you ever scare us like that again!

Ruffnut: Leave the chaos to the big kids, missy. You're still learning.

Evergreen roared and flies to Hiccup and Toothless.

Hiccup: ( to Evergreen, a bit sternly: ) Same goes for you.

Fishlegs: ( to Meryl: ) Please tell me you have the book of dragons.

Meryl: I... I'm sorry, I tried to catch it, but... I was too late. Alvin has the book of dragons.

Onyx's eyes widened.

( On Outcast island, with the strange dragon, after they got the book from the Gronkle )

The strange dragon was alone in a cell. She was chained to the floor with a muzzle on her mouth. Alvin and Savage then walked to her cell, with the book of dragons in Alvin's hands.

Alvin: ( reading the Scalewalker page out loud: ) To earn a Scalewalkers trust, you must prove to them that you aren't afraid of them, and show them that you are a friend. ( Looks at the strange dragon, closes the book ) ( to Savage: ) Open the cell door.

Savage opens the door, and Alvin walks inside, the strange dragon tried to back away from him, but the chains kept her in place.

Alvin: ( to the strange dragon: ) It's alright, Alvin's a friend. In fact, Savage, go get the beast something to eat.

Savage quickly nodded his head and ran off, as the Scalewalker dragon's red eyes were freaking him out. The strange Scalewalker looked at Alvin in fear and confusion.

Alvin: You need a name, don't you. I think Mistake suits you. Given that you're not might to be born.

Savage then returns with a chicken leg, which Alvin takes from him and waves it to the Scalewalker he'd named " Mistake ", who looked at it with longing and she licked her fangs as her stomach growled. As she tries to reach for the chicken, Alvin pulls it out of her reach.

Alvin: No, no, Mistake. You atta know better than that. Only good beasts get good food, and good beasts earn it. Here, I make it easy for you to earn it. ( Pulls out his hatchet ) Use your powers to take my hatchet away and throw it at Savage's head.

Savage: What?!

Alvin: If you do that, I'll give you all the good food you've earned for this task and I'll have that muzzle removed.

Mistake then slowly raised her left front talon, and used her powers to levitate Alvin's hatchet out of his hand, and tossed it at Savage's head, Savage dodged it making it hit the cell bars of the cell behind them.

Alvin: ( laughs ) Good beast. Savage, remove her muzzle.

Savage: ( still a bit shaken up ) Y-Yes, sir.

Savage cautiously went into the small Scalewalker's cell and removed the muzzle. Mistake silently purrs as she felt the discomfort of the muzzle go away.

Alvin: That's a good beast. Here.

Alvin tossed the chicken leg to her, and Mistake quickly caught it in her fangs and began devouring it. Savage then took his chance to leave the cell, and Alvin closed it. The two then began to leave Mistake to eat her reward.

Alvin: ( to Savage: ) Give her about two baskets of fish and a whole chicken, and plenty of clean water for a week. I want that beast to grow up stronger than my traitorous son, Onyx.

Savage: But, wasn't it you that betrayed h-

Alvin glared at Savage, making him not finish what he was going to say.

Savage: Yes, sir. But, shouldn't we be careful with her? She is a ( whispers, so Mistake couldn't hear them: ) Scalewalker.

Alvin: Ba! She won't find out. She's only six ( laughs evilly )

The two then walked past the cell that was three cells away from Mistake, the cell has the sleeping body of a six year old girl with olive skin with cute dark freckles, and dark gray hair, wearing an old, slightly torn, dirty gray dress and no shoes. She was sleeping on the cold stone floor.

Mistake purrs after she finished the chicken, and she felt like she was forgetting something, but she couldn't remember what...
